About the property

Perched high on the hill side, in the interior of the island, it enjoys sensational views across the green countryside to the blue Aegean and the surrounding islands. The position is in "Anania" hamlet, a 10-15 min drive from the closest beach.

The Space

Set within a private fenced plot, this is an original cottage of traditional architecture. All rooms are separate (with no internal connection), and they are accessed by individual doors from a pretty and well maintained yard.

The large bedroom –on the top floor of the main building– has the characteristic sleeping platform (with three double matresses to sleep six persons), as well as a single bed for one more person.

A separate building hosts the fully equipped kitchen with dining area, and the bathroom.

The large expanse of a stone-paved patio has covered area for outdoor meals, barbecue and traditional wood-oven (great for home made bread), and it is surrounded by a lovely garden.

Interaction with Guests

We shall happily greet you at the port of Skopelos upon your arrival and escort you and your luggage to the cottage.

Getting Around

CAR IS ESSENTIAL

To enable our guests to combine their enjoyment of the cottage with easy access to the many beaches and the shops or tavernas of nearby fishing villages, we could pre-arrange a rental car.

FOR WALKERS

For those who like getting out and exploring on foot, there are some marvellous opportunities, as old mule tracks criss-cross the area through forests and orchards.

THE ISLAND'S COUNTRYSIDE

Skopelos' best kept secret is the marvellous varied countryside, which is still undeveloped. Those who have already made the discovery, return again and again at every given opportunity.

ABOUT SKOPELOS' ORIGINAL COTTAGES

The original cottages in Skopelos are called "kalivia". Traditional stone buildings of simple rectangular shape, in two floors. The main internal feature of a traditional cottage is the top floor. On this floor you would see the large sleeping platform and the characteristic Skopelete fire place. The sleeping platform was used by the whole family and the number of mattresses used, depended on how many people were staying there at the time. In the past they were used as dwellings by agricultural workers who moved there with the whole family including their animals, during the harvest time. Today the old cottages are been lovingly restored and are mostly used at weekends and celebratory feasts.
