Excellent place. Great location and facilities.

This is a great place for a family getaway to the highlands

Skiing was great at the Lecht and Hogmanay at Grantown-on-Spey was unforgettable.

Stunning house, absolutely beautful. So well presented.

  • 5 of 5

We had the most amazing time staying in this property. We literally could of spent our whole holiday in the house without going outside but all the information of the surrounding area that was left in the house for us, made us venture out! Everything you need for a selfcaterng holiday is suppiled, we didn't once think 'ah they don't have...'. Everything was thought about. Would stay here every time we come back to Scotland.

A perfect haven

  • 5 of 5

This is a fabulous house - beautiful, comfortable and peaceful. My only regret is I didn't book it for longer.

It's in a great position for touring the Cairngorms or the North East and the village has all the amenities you need.

I can't recommend it highly enough.

Wonderful home in a delightful setting.

  • 5 of 5

A lovely spacious home in a delightful riverside woodland setting. The layout of the house worked extremely well and the property had everything needed for a great stay in the Highlands. The hot tub was a nice touch too. Overall thoroughly recommended. The photos on the website don't quite do it justice. We hope to be back next year!

Excellent.

  • 5 of 5

Roomy, well equipped place in a convenient location for touring around the Cairngorms. It was clean, light and airy. The hot tub is a welcome bonus, whatever the weather and relaxing on the decking by the babbling river was enjoyable.

If you have a sense of humour visit Craigs in Grantown for a pie and a pint!

I would definitely recommend An Cala and would like to revisit myself if drier weather could be arranged!!

Car: recommended

The house is perfectly located to explore the Speyside Whisky trail.

The Lecht and Cairngorm Ski Areas are both about a 30 min drive away.

Fantastic B roads for road cycling and mountain bike trails straight from the house. More mountain bike tracks at Glenlivet and Laggan, about a 40 min drive from the house.

There are walks from the doorstep and an abundance of wildlife, with deer and red squirrels, heron and otters seen in the garden. The RSPB Loch Garten Osprey Centre is less than 10 min away.

There is a steam train that you can take, from the edge of the village (broomhill) to Aviemore.

Watersports and swimming can be enjoyed at nearby Loch Morlich and Loch Insh.

Great hillwalking in the nearby mountains, the Cromdales and Cairngorms.

Swimming pools in Aviemore, as well as a children's fun house.

Landmark, an adventure woodland playpark in Carrbridge is a big hit with kids, and is about a 15 min drive away.

Nethy Bridge has a 9 hole golf course and there are several other good golf courses at Boat of Garten and Aviemore. There are also tennis courts and a bowling green close by.

Inverness is 40 min drive, and the house is well situated for day trips to Loch Ness , Fort William and Nairn and the Moray Firth with its sandy beaches and where dolphin watching trips can be enjoyed.
