Wonderful home in a delightful setting.

  • 5 of 5

A lovely spacious home in a delightful riverside woodland setting. The layout of the house worked extremely well and the property had everything needed for a great stay in the Highlands. The hot tub was a nice touch too. Overall thoroughly recommended. The photos on the website don't quite do it justice. We hope to be back next year!

Excellent.

  • 5 of 5

Roomy, well equipped place in a convenient location for touring around the Cairngorms. It was clean, light and airy. The hot tub is a welcome bonus, whatever the weather and relaxing on the decking by the babbling river was enjoyable.

If you have a sense of humour visit Craigs in Grantown for a pie and a pint!

I would definitely recommend An Cala and would like to revisit myself if drier weather could be arranged!!

Incredible house in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

Myself and a group of friends stayed in An Cala for a long weekend, and it was absolutely beautiful - even nicer than the photos! The property was clean, and Lara was a great host. It's a quiet town, and there are lots of lovely places to go for walks. The facilities within the house were great too, the hot tub was an added bonus! We had a wonderful time and I would definitely recommend it to others!

Triathlon followed by luxurious hot tub soothing

  • 5 of 5

What a great way to recover from the fantastic local Triathlon in Loch Morluch area. We stayed here with friends and family and could not fault anything. The owners have thought of everything - the hot tub is very relaxing with the 2nd lounge area being perfect for the kids - thanks Lara, hopefully be visiting again soon!

Excellent tranquil property

  • 5 of 5

An Cala is the perfect property for relaxation and to use as a base for exploring the surrounding area. The wood burning stove and the hot tub were ideal after a long days walk or cycle. The property was very clean and one of the most equipped houses I have rented, will definitely recommend this property !!

Car: recommended

The house is perfectly located to explore the Speyside Whisky trail.

The Lecht and Cairngorm Ski Areas are both about a 30 min drive away.

Fantastic B roads for road cycling and mountain bike trails straight from the house. More mountain bike tracks at Glenlivet and Laggan, about a 40 min drive from the house.

There are walks from the doorstep and an abundance of wildlife, with deer and red squirrels, heron and otters seen in the garden. The RSPB Loch Garten Osprey Centre is less than 10 min away.

There is a steam train that you can take, from the edge of the village (broomhill) to Aviemore.

Watersports and swimming can be enjoyed at nearby Loch Morlich and Loch Insh.

Great hillwalking in the nearby mountains, the Cromdales and Cairngorms.

Swimming pools in Aviemore, as well as a children's fun house.

Landmark, an adventure woodland playpark in Carrbridge is a big hit with kids, and is about a 15 min drive away.

Nethy Bridge has a 9 hole golf course and there are several other good golf courses at Boat of Garten and Aviemore. There are also tennis courts and a bowling green close by.

Inverness is 40 min drive, and the house is well situated for day trips to Loch Ness , Fort William and Nairn and the Moray Firth with its sandy beaches and where dolphin watching trips can be enjoyed.
