We loved the property - We have had many holidays - all over the north and west of Scotland - this has been the best property in the last 20 years .

Excellent venue for all the family

  • 5 of 5

We know the area well so the property was just the icing on the cake. Only 2 small things missing! A slotted spoon and an electric whisk. We do like to cook and have family meals!!

We loved our long weekend at An Cala! Great location for exploring the Cairngorms.

  • 5 of 5

An Cala is a beautiful house, spacious and perfect for families or groups. The kitchen was really well kitted out and we particularly loved eating together around the big dining table....and playing board games around the wood burner in the evening.

Stunning house, absolutely beautful. So well presented.

We had the most amazing time staying in this property. We literally could of spent our whole holiday in the house without going outside but all the information of the surrounding area that was left in the house for us, made us venture out! Everything you need for a selfcaterng holiday is suppiled, we didn't once think 'ah they don't have...'. Everything was thought about. Would stay here every time we come back to Scotland.

The house is perfectly located to explore the Speyside Whisky trail.

The Lecht and Cairngorm Ski Areas are both about a 30 min drive away.

Fantastic B roads for road cycling and mountain bike trails straight from the house. More mountain bike tracks at Glenlivet and Laggan, about a 40 min drive from the house.

There are walks from the doorstep and an abundance of wildlife, with deer and red squirrels, heron and otters seen in the garden. The RSPB Loch Garten Osprey Centre is less than 10 min away.

There is a steam train that you can take, from the edge of the village (broomhill) to Aviemore.

Watersports and swimming can be enjoyed at nearby Loch Morlich and Loch Insh.

Great hillwalking in the nearby mountains, the Cromdales and Cairngorms.

Swimming pools in Aviemore, as well as a children's fun house.

Landmark, an adventure woodland playpark in Carrbridge is a big hit with kids, and is about a 15 min drive away.

Nethy Bridge has a 9 hole golf course and there are several other good golf courses at Boat of Garten and Aviemore. There are also tennis courts and a bowling green close by.

Inverness is 40 min drive, and the house is well situated for day trips to Loch Ness , Fort William and Nairn and the Moray Firth with its sandy beaches and where dolphin watching trips can be enjoyed.
