Excellent lakeside property , beautifully equipped for a family holiday. Peaceful but lively environment. Would come again
We stayed in this property for a weekend break. I can honestly say that it's a perfect location. The spa, pools and other facilities on site really add to the luxury appeal.
We went for a very low key retreat, but if you are more active or are hoping for a more adventurous break there are a plethora of activities that you can take part in or sign up for.
The house was gorgeous, light, airy, spacious and modern. The bathroom to bedroom ratio was perfect for our group of seven.
We loved it so much, we would come back again and are currently talking about making Lower Mill an annual break. Definitely would recommend.
We had a lovely long week end stay at Cygnet Lodge in Somerford Keynes with 3 generations of family present to celebrate a 70th birthday.
The property was superb, plenty of room for us all, with a great kids escape/play area on the top floor mezzanine where they could be kept an eye on from the ground floor. The house was very clean and well equipped and has fantastic views across the lake and a superb deck for outdoor sitting/eating etc. It is also well located for the swimming pool/gym/spa and the on-site restaurant all of which were great and much fun was had in the pool.
We made use of the on-site walking and cycling trails and also headed out to nearby Bourton on the Water and enjoyed the maze, river and restaurants there, as well as visiting the Cotswold Farm Park which is a great interactive day out for the kids.
The owner was extremely helpful in promptly answering queries pre-booking, pre-arrival, making arrangements for arrival, during and after our stay - a pleasure to deal with.
We would definitely and highly recommend this property to others, especially families or small groups of friends and hope to visit again soon!
The house was amazing, the view over the lake was lovely. It was a shame the weather was so wet we couldn't make use of any of the well furnished balconies. The house was warm, we loved the log burner, and very well equipped. The owner, Robert, always replied promptly to any queries.
The description of the house was accurate and it was clean and well maintained.
The swimming pool was enjoyed by my children and grandchildren.
I would definitely recommend the property to friends.
We're regular renters on Homeaway at places around the world and this was by far the best property that we've ever had the pleasure of staying. The property itself is in beautiful condition. The furnishings are top-shelf, the floor layout is ideal for 3 generations especially the loft area upstairs which doubles as a bedroom and play area. And the master bed is the most comfortable we've ever had in a vacation home. The view across the lake truly wonderful. As advertised, the amenities of the private property were well used... The tennis court, football pitch and swimming facilities, including the eco-pool (which is outdoors and was much used by our 10 year-old granddaughter). We also made good use of Ballihoo, the on-site restaurant for dinner. There is a delightful village feel to Lower Mill Estates.
The property is well situated in the region which allowed us short drives to nearby Cotswold towns, villages, Wildlife Park, and even Bristol to see Brunell's SS Great Britain. The Bakers Arms pub is a perfect walking distance in nearby Somerfield Keynes and had good dining as well as drink. Nearby Cirencester has quaint shops and a beautiful church as well as multiple grocery shopping and delivery services.
Thanks to Robert, the owner for the welcome basket which made a lovely start to our Christmas holiday in the Cotswolds. We hope to return to the Cygnet lodge for a summer retreat sometime in the future.
Great house and picturesque location. All facilities that catered for young (2yrs) to old (65). Lovely owner that makes your stay comfortable
