Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Carre d'Or

Superb location. 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 balconies. Renovated May 2015

Auriel is a luxury, contemporary, air-conditioned apartment in the heart of Nice's chic (and safe) Carré d'Or district. Moments from the beach (200m), Auriel is in the upmarket pedestrian street which is packed with great cafes, restaurants and boutiques that are open all year round. A short stroll away is the daily market, the old town, Place Massena, museums, casinos and top hotels.

Ideally suited to a family or group of friends looking to relax in luxury surroundings.

Completely renovated in April 2015, the flat is on the 4th floor (with lift) of a well-maintained block. The flat is spacious, light and airy and has two balconies: a south-facing balcony where we have breakfast and cocktails overlooking old bourgeois buildings at the front and the buzz of Rue de France, and the other is off the master bedroom overlooking the peaceful gardens of the church (no bells!).

The bright, open-plan lounge/dining area and fully-equipped kitchen (Bosch appliances and a Nespresso coffee machine) faces south and opens onto a sunny balcony which has a table and chairs for four and a retractable awning – a great spot for morning coffee and croissants or pre-dinner cocktails. The lounge has a comfortable L-shaped sofa, flat-screen TV with access to 200+ channels including BBC World News and BBC Entertainment, and free wifi internet access. Beside the kitchen is a dining table which takes four comfortably, extendable to six.

The master bedroom suite has its own bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. Both the bedroom and en-suite have French windows opening onto a balcony. The large master bathroom has a shower/bath, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail.

The second bedroom is almost the same size as the master (a difference of centimetres) and has a generous shower room next door with hand basin and heated towel rail. A separate WC with hand basin is close by.

Each bedroom has two good quality 90 x 200cm beds which can be made up as super-kings. The bedrooms both have bedside tables and lamps, chair, hairdryer, plenty of storage and are decorated in neutral tones of soft grey and white. Electric shutters provide total darkness if you want it. Overlooking tranquil gardens at the back of the flat, both bedrooms are quiet.

In the entrance hall is a storage/coat cupboard, a utility cupboard with washing machine, and a separate WC with hand basin.

For the cooler months, the flat has central heating.

Bus and tram stops, municipal car parking and car rental are all within a short walk – important if you want to visit Monaco, St Paul de Vence, Cap Ferrat or Cannes during your stay! The journey from the airport takes a maximum of 15 minutes. Everything you’ll need in terms of supermarkets, boulangeries, patisseries and pharmacies is close by.

HOW TO GET TO THE APARTMENT

Nice International Airport is situated close to the city. Bus number 98 runs every 20 minutes from the Airport, along the seafront (Promenade des Anglais) to the centre of Nice. The ticket costs 6 euros per person. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes and the nearest stop for the apartment is 'Congress Promenade' on the Promenade.

Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the Airport which will cost approximately 35 euros.

Our local English/French speaking representative will meet you on arrival at the apartment, explain the facilities and give you the keys. They can also arrange to purchase some basic provisions for you should you require.

Perfect accommodation in Nice

  • 5 of 5

We booked this apartment for a family get together for a week. The property is finished to a very high spec and contained everything we could possibly need. We very much enjoyed fresh croissants on the sunny balcony watching the world go by. The beach is 200 metres away and there are great restaurants on the doorstep. We found the 'Bible' very useful for restaurant suggestions etc. We got the train to Antibes and also to Villefranche, both of which are pretty and worth a visit. You can easily walk to the train station and trains are frequent. I'd highly recommend this property for people wishing to have lovely accommodation whilst seeing a little of the Côte d'Azur. Thanks a lot.

Owner's Response: We're so glad that you had a great time in Nice and that you enjoyed the apartment - thank you very much for your kind words and for recommending our flat (Auriel) to others. As you say, there are so many great restaurants on the doorstep and the beach is literally around the corner. Villefranche is one of our favourites but hopefully you got to see places like St Paul de Vence too. We hope to be able to welcome you back sometime soon!

Perfect in every respect.

  • 5 of 5

When Kate opened the door to this property we knew we had made a great decision which was further reinforced when we had completed our induction tour.

The attention to detail and the level of equipment is second to none and during our 6 week stay we did not want for anything.

The detailed information on the equipment complemented with general information on Nice and surrounding areas etc was extremely helpful.

Kate made us feel very welcome and was very accommodating during our stay which we truly appreciate.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for taking the time to review Auriel in Nice and for your kind words. We're delighted that you were pleased with your choice - from our own experience of renting holiday flats we know that photos on a website don't always reflect reality. It can be quite a worry wondering what actually awaits you! It's good to know that the apartment had everything you needed, even for an extended stay. As you say, Kate is a treasure! We hope to welcome you back to Nice again soon.

Brilliant location, close to beach and restaurants

  • 5 of 5

This is great property for a family or group of friends to explore Nice - fantastic location in pedestrianised area just off Rue de France, 200m from the beach, close to some really good restaurants (Franchin etc.) and bakeries (fresh croissant on the sun-soaked balcony), 5min walk to Place Massena. Air conditioning and wifi (+ Netflix) for those looking to relax inside! Everything seems new in the flat, and done up to a much higher standard than usual holiday rentals in France. Will definitely be coming back!

Owner's Response: Dear Emily Thank you so much for your great review of our air-conditioned flat in the Carre d'Or area of Nice. We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay in the apartment. We did indeed buy everything new for the flat when we refurbished it in May 2015 - we've stayed in other flats where the owners have put all their old left-over furniture etc and it's not a pleasant experience. We wanted all our guests to come to a fresh, clean home so spent a bit more, but I think it's worth it (especially having 2 good showers!) Franchin is one of our favourite restaurants and literally around the corner from Auriel, as you discovered. We hope to see you again very soon. Best wishes

Perfect Property

  • 5 of 5

It wasn't our first stay in Nice but our most perfect. The flat is a real home, you don't miss anything. Everything is new, clean and tastefully furnished. We loved the two bathrooms and the two balconies as well as the bedroom and living room with the kitchen. Moreover the property is located perfectly between Rue de France, which is a pedestrian area, and the anglistic church on the backside with its pittoresque backyard. The building has an elevator and within 3 minutes you're on the Promenade des Anglais and on the beach.

With Kate Muriel as customer service a very friendly welcome is guaranteed.

Owner's Response: We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay in our Nice apartment. When we were renovating and furnishing 'Auriel' we tried hard to make it as comfortable as possible and thought the two bathrooms and full air-conditioning were an absolute necessity! As you say, Kate is a star and we're lucky to have her with us. Thank you very much for your review and we hope to welcome you back to Nice again next year.

Great apartment in perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Definitely the best rental property we have ever used. Set in a perfect location close to the beach, cafes, bakeries, shops & restaurants with good transport links to other villages and towns. The apartment is in the heart of Nice set above the hustle and bustle of Rue de France yet peaceful enough for a restful holiday. The owners had thought of everything; from the Nespresso machine, games & books to the beach gear & shopping trolley. Everything in the apartment is new and we especially appreciated the air conditioning, blinds and the super comfy beds. I would recommend this apartment for anyone wishing to enjoy Nice and the surrounding area. We also found the agent Kate especially helpful.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for our first online review! We are delighted to know that you were so happy with our apartment in Nice. Like you, we really enjoy being right in the heart of the city but having peaceful bedrooms at the back of the flat. And those comfortable beds seemed like a luxury when we bought them but they are worth every penny in our opinion. Other guests have said that they've had the best sleep in months! Kate joins us in sending you our best wishes.

The Côte d'Azur lies between the mountains peaks of the Alps and the shimmering turquoise Mediterranean. It has been the playground of Europe since the 19th century when it became a popular holiday destination for the rich and famous. It remains to this day, one of the most sort after destinations in France and is ideal for family and group holidays as well as romantic city breaks.

Nice is the regional capital of the Alpes-Maritimes. It is a city that stays alive and active all year round. There is plenty to see and do and something to suit all tastes.

With approximately 300 days of sunshine, it is renowned for its long hot summers and cooling sea breezes which help to maintain a pleasant temperature.

Beautifully situated, between Cannes and Menton, Nice offers easy access by train or bus allowing you to explore many other interesting towns along this famous coastline. Day trips to Monaco, Italy and some of the surrounding hilltop Provençal villages are all possible.

This colourful and lively city has so much to offer that it is hard to know where to begin! Relax and soak up the sun on the 4km of beaches along the 'Promenade des Anglais', enjoy the enticing restaurants and side-walk cafés where you can just watch the world go by.

Meander through the enchanting old town with its typical French market in the Cours Saleya and interesting shops selling all manner of local produce and Provençal gifts.

For those whose interests lie particularly in culture, explore the many museums and art galleries in town including the Matisse Museum, Chagall Museum and the renowned Museum of Contemporary Art.

At night, the city offers some of the best entertainment on the coast with numerous bars often with live music, Casinos and a selection of nightclubs to choose from.

Nice and surrounding areas also hold a huge number of events and festivals through out the year including:

• Mars aux Musées - Special deals and coordinated exhibitions around the city's museums.

• Nice Côte d'Azur Boat Show

• Foire Internationale de Nice - International Trade Fair.
