Auriel is a luxury, contemporary, air-conditioned apartment in the heart of Nice's chic (and safe) Carré d'Or district. Moments from the beach (200m), Auriel is in the upmarket pedestrian street which is packed with great cafes, restaurants and boutiques that are open all year round. A short stroll away is the daily market, the old town, Place Massena, museums, casinos and top hotels.
Ideally suited to a family or group of friends looking to relax in luxury surroundings.
Completely renovated in April 2015, the flat is on the 4th floor (with lift) of a well-maintained block. The flat is spacious, light and airy and has two balconies: a south-facing balcony where we have breakfast and cocktails overlooking old bourgeois buildings at the front and the buzz of Rue de France, and the other is off the master bedroom overlooking the peaceful gardens of the church (no bells!).
The bright, open-plan lounge/dining area and fully-equipped kitchen (Bosch appliances and a Nespresso coffee machine) faces south and opens onto a sunny balcony which has a table and chairs for four and a retractable awning – a great spot for morning coffee and croissants or pre-dinner cocktails. The lounge has a comfortable L-shaped sofa, flat-screen TV with access to 200+ channels including BBC World News and BBC Entertainment, and free wifi internet access. Beside the kitchen is a dining table which takes four comfortably, extendable to six.
The master bedroom suite has its own bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. Both the bedroom and en-suite have French windows opening onto a balcony. The large master bathroom has a shower/bath, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail.
The second bedroom is almost the same size as the master (a difference of centimetres) and has a generous shower room next door with hand basin and heated towel rail. A separate WC with hand basin is close by.
Each bedroom has two good quality 90 x 200cm beds which can be made up as super-kings. The bedrooms both have bedside tables and lamps, chair, hairdryer, plenty of storage and are decorated in neutral tones of soft grey and white. Electric shutters provide total darkness if you want it. Overlooking tranquil gardens at the back of the flat, both bedrooms are quiet.
In the entrance hall is a storage/coat cupboard, a utility cupboard with washing machine, and a separate WC with hand basin.
For the cooler months, the flat has central heating.
Bus and tram stops, municipal car parking and car rental are all within a short walk – important if you want to visit Monaco, St Paul de Vence, Cap Ferrat or Cannes during your stay! The journey from the airport takes a maximum of 15 minutes. Everything you’ll need in terms of supermarkets, boulangeries, patisseries and pharmacies is close by.
HOW TO GET TO THE APARTMENT
Nice International Airport is situated close to the city. Bus number 98 runs every 20 minutes from the Airport, along the seafront (Promenade des Anglais) to the centre of Nice. The ticket costs 6 euros per person. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes and the nearest stop for the apartment is 'Congress Promenade' on the Promenade.
Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the Airport which will cost approximately 35 euros.
Our local English/French speaking representative will meet you on arrival at the apartment, explain the facilities and give you the keys.
The apartment does not have parking. The nearest public car park is called ‘Palais Mediterranée’ which is located approximately 50m away beside the apartment on Rue de Congrés. Special priced passes can be purchased at the parking office on arrival - 7 day pas costs approx 120 euros.
All rental prices quoted are inclusive of the taxe de sejour (French stay tax). The Property Fee covers the end of stay clean, meet and greet, bed linen for the MAIN bedroom & bath towels for 2 people only. ** PLEASE ADVISE US AT THE TIME OF BOOKING HOW YOU WOULD LIKE THE MAIN BEDROOM MADE UP - EITHER AS 2 SINGLES OR 1 KING DOUBLE BED **
The following charges apply for extra linens which can be ordered from us at the booking stage and paid for on arrival:
30 euros per double, 20 euros per single
7.50 euros per set of extra bath towels
5 euros per beach towel
Late apartment arrival charge will apply for arrivals from 8pm. Please note that it will take you approximately one hour from the time your plane lands to reach the apartment.
Rental rates are for the property per week regardless of the number of guests
Minimum rental period during the Peak and Christmas season is 7 nights. Shorter stays (minimum 4 nights) outside these seasons are possible.
A security deposit/holding cheque of €400 is required in case of damage, breakages or extra cleaning, this is paid at the the time of paying your rental balance.
A deposit of 25% up to 60 days before your stay is required to secure your reservation
The balance and payment of the security deposit is due 60 days before your booking starts
