This recently constructed Scandinavian pine log cabin is situated 10 minutes walk from the beautiful sandy beaches of the Seaboard Villages of Shandwick, Balintore and Hilton.
The lodge offers stunning views West to Ben Wyvis and North to the hills and mountains of East Sutherland.
With just a 40 minute drive from the city of Inverness, 'Taigh Fiodha' ( Gaelic for wooden house) gives an ideal base for exploring the Scottish Highlands.
The log cabin is purpose built and offers very comfortable accommodation. It is tastefully furnished throughout and can comfortably sleep six. The cabin is of modern design and consideration has been made to customers requiring mobility aids, such as a ramp, large entrance area and wide doors throughout. Rooms include one double bedroom, one bunk bedroom and one galleried bedroom which can be large king size or twin bedded. A fully fitted kitchen is incorporated in the living and dining space. Facilities include a fridge, oven & hob, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. Outside you can sit or dine on the large veranda (there are no midges here) and enjoy watching the sunset late into the evening.

Follow the King's Route at Tain Through Time Museum. Take a trek to follow the Pictish stones trail around Easter Ross. Sample the 'water of life' at nearby Glenmorangie Distillery. Catch the ferry to the Black Isle and see the Bottlenose Dolphins and the seals.In season of course there are the Highland Games and Shows which are such an important part of life to both Highlanders and visitors alike. For birdwatching enthusiasts we are only 10 minutes away from the new RSPB hide at Nigg Bay.

The log cabin is purpose built and offers luxury accommodation.

Rooms include one double bedroom with two storage units, one bunk bedroom with one storage unit, one galleried bedroom which can be large king size or twin bedded with clothes rail, T.V. chair and dressing table.
A fully fitted kitchen is incorporated in the living and dining space. Facilities include a fridge, oven & hob, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. The living space includes large L shaped leather sofa, coffee table T.V., freeview and DVD player.
Bathroom with towel heater, extractor fan and walk in shower with toilet, hand basin and shaver power point.
Outside you can sit or dine on the large veranda (there are no midges here) and enjoy watching the sunset late into the evening. There is also a BBQ available and a very large wooded garden area.

A deposit of 25% of the total tariff is requested in advance. The balance is payable 6 weeks prior to the commencement of your holiday (or by arrangement for short notice bookings).
Electricity for lights and appliances is included. Heating is provided by electric panel heaters which run from a separate meter, included in the price is an initial supply of 10 GBP per week, thereafter by 1 GBP coin.

There is ample off road parking space outside the cabin.

No smoking is permitted within the holiday home.
A refundable security deposit of 100 GBP will be required as part of your final balance payment. The price shown includes the refundable deposit.

Lovely, well-presented cabin that was warm and cosy. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. Has everything you could need from self-catering accomodation and is in a great location where a number of fantastic sights are accessible by a short drive. Our dog enjoyed his stay too!
Beautiful part of the world and the location of the cabin allowed us to access fantastic beaches and forests and walks. We had great meals out too. The Pier at Lairg is a must!
We loved our stay at Taigh Fiodha - we have 7 and 5 year old children and a dog, and found it a great base to go out and about - easy access to Inverness, Black Isle, Dornoch, plenty of good places locally to grab a bite to eat, loads of scope for taking the dog for a walk. Owners were very helpful - welcomed us on arrival and responded immediately to any queries. One thing to watch though....in our more cashless world, we found it a bit of a chore to find £1 coins for the meter on which the heating runs and ran out on a couple of occasions - best to save these up or pay a visit to a bank before the start of the holiday!
Excellent well equipped chalet in a lovely locations with stunning views. Please be aware that the heating is on a separate electric meter that requires pound coins.
Lovely accomodation, in a great loctaion, just a short 10 minute walk to a lovely sandy beach. The accomdation is very spacious, lots of nice views, clean, eveything we needed, would love to come back.
From Inverness take A9 North, signpost “Wick, Thurso”
At “Nigg” roundabout turn right onto the B9175 signpost “Nigg.”
Go through hamlet of Nigg Station, keep heading towards Nigg.
Turn left signpost “Shandwick, Balintore”
After 2.5 Miles turn right after the signpost for “Seaboard Villages” into Broomton driveway amongst Scots Pine.
