This traditional fisherman’s cottage in the scenic Black Isle is fully modernised to a high standard yet retains much of its late 19th century character. Situated in a quiet street in the village of Avoch, on the shores of the Beauly Firth, Margaret Street Cottage is ideal for a relaxing Highland holiday, offering comfortable, well-equipped self-catering accommodation in a peaceful setting.
Avoch has a convenience store, restaurant, pub and take-away restaurants, and Inverness is only twenty minutes away. Fortrose and Rosemarkie are a short drive away, where you’ll find a lovely links golf course, a renowned dolphin watching spot and a sandy beach.
Accommodation & Facilities
Ground floor: Lounge: three piece suite, wood burning stove, coffee table, Freeview colour TV and DVD player, plus a selection of DVDs, books and games.
Kitchen/diner: modern kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, and a dining table with seating for six.
Bathroom: fully modernised bathroom with electric over-bath shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail.
Bedrooms: double bedroom and twin bedroom with bedside cabinets, table lamps and clothes storage units. The twin room has a small fold down bed suitable for a young child.
The property has an enclosed and secluded garden, an outside drying area and a patio with table and chairs.
There is parking outside the cottage and additional parking less than 50 metres away.
Bed linen, towels, electricity and logs for the stove are included in the price.
Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome at no extra charge.
No smoking is permitted within the holiday home.
Short breaks are available and any-day entry for weekly bookings.
The cottage was lovely, very comfortable and ideally located for the Black Isle. The owners have really thought through what their gusts might need to enjoy the area. Avoch is a lovely location and everyone is very helpful.
The Margaret Street cottage is a comfortable, well equipped cottage in the beautiful village of Avoch - ideal for exploring the Black Isle, Cromarty, dolphin watching and so much more.
Nice stay in Avoch in a very comfortable cottage. The location is fantastique for holydays. However Internet/wifi was missing and à single bed was disant Led.
This was our second stay. The cottage has everything we need and is a pleasure to go into. The little back garden is useful for the dogs and a pleasant place to sit .
Well equipped all round, peaceful and comfortable in all rooms.

We had a wonderful family holiday, in a beautiful area. The cottage is light and airy and spacious. Lovely decor, beautifully clean and well equipped. We would definitely recommend this cottage.
We (two adult couples plus our spaniel) had a very enjoyable few days at this cottage. It was warm and very comfortable.
On arrival, we found milk in the fridge, shortbread, tea and coffee supplied - what a delight. There was a plentiful supply of reading matter, including leaflets on local attractions, and a wide range of DVDs for rainy weather.
The cottage is within a two minute walk of the local beach, where there are boat trips out to view the dolphins. The skipper on these trips was great fun, with a wonderful sense of humour - highly recommended.
The only shame is that the Station Hotel no longer serves meals to non-residents, which means that to eat out you have to drive to Fortrose. However, the Anderson Hotel in Fortrose is a must for any visitor - excellent cuisine and an incredibly vast selection of beers, wines and whiskies.
Travelling north on the A9, cross the Kessock Bridge and continue on the A9 for approximately 3 miles. Turn right at the sign for ‘Black Isle, Munlochy’. Drive through Munlochy, turning right at the T junction when you leave the village and follow the signs for Avoch. Drive through Avoch and turn right shortly after the convenience store onto Margaret Street – the cottage, no 17, is the 3rd on the right.
