This attractive property was acquired by the owners in Spring 2015. It's a beautiful ground floor apartment, built to exceedingly high standards with marble floors, lovely woodwork, and air conditioned throughout. "The apartment is placed, we think, in the best position on the complex, sat on the outer edge, providing wonderful garden space, midway between the local beaches and the pool. The ground floor covered terrace invites alfresco dining, a relaxing shady area, and lots of room to spread out onto the south facing lawns and landscaped gardens to soak up the sunshine, and so brilliant for little ones! There are excellent restaurants, bars and couple of small supermarkets within easy waking distance, or maybe have a couple of rental bikes delivered to your door! Albufeira's marina, with its shops, bars, cafe's and water sports is less than 5 minutes by car, or a lovely 20 Mins walk. Golfers are spoilt for choice with several local options including Salgados Golf Course, just 5kms away. Altogether, it's a great choice for a wonderful holiday. Do check out the reviews, of which we are really proud! The ground floor aspect and garden space makes this an ideal choice for families with little ones, and also wheel chair users. About Bruce Shepherd

We have spent many happy holidays in the Algarve. Just recently we have made the decision to buy our very own apartment. We have chosen carefully. The location, the build quality, and the fixtures & fittings are all just excellent. So after flying into Faro, just 40 minutes later, we, or you, can be relaxing on the terrace of a delightful apartment, enjoying the sunshine, the garden views, and making plans on how best to enjoy your stay. You have so many activity choices. In which case, I have written some notes on some of the options you may wish to consider. Have a look at the "location" section. Alternatively, check out tripadvisor on the web and search for "Albufeira" and "Things to do". Or just simply relax! Garden, beach or pool? Each comes with sunshine! Whatever your choice, we are confident that you will enjoy your stay.

Why Bruce Shepherd chose Albufeira

It's location is just perfect. For Summer long holidays, the gorgeous beaches and good size family pools are just 5 minutes away. The biggest decision each morning will be to turn left for the pool, or right for the beach! Or perhaps try out one of the many first class golf courses nearby. Salgados is just 5kms away by car. During the winter months, the weather is warm, the complex is quieter, but just as gorgeous, with lovely walkways built along the beaches. Albufeira is just 30 minutes walk (5 mins by car/and around 5Eur by taxi) passing the new marina (15 mins walk) along the way. You might also take time out to visit Guia, a pretty and very "Portuguese" old town with some 25+ restaurants. It's also the home of Piri Piri. We haven't eaten in all 25+, but those we have were excellent! 10 Mins away (by car/taxi).

What makes this apartment unique

Enjoy the day long sunshine on the south facing terrace. We chose ground floor purposely, to provide that extra terrace space. More room for dining. More room to spread out onto the lawn, so it's also brilliant for youngsters with plenty of energy. Meanwhile, you sit back, relax and enjoy the garden view, in the sun or the shady areas. Unlimited Wi-Fi is included, so you can catch up with the world if you feel the need! Before dinner, take a stroll around the gardens, before eating alfresco, using the BBQ, wooden table and chairs provided. Or even further out? There are four good restaurants, within a ten minute walk. That's your 2nd decision of the day! And what sets us apart? Well, we feel quite privileged. Our apartment has been purchased and fitted out as our own holiday home, not just as an apartment for renting out, albeit that, for just a few weeks each year, that's what we'll do. Our choice of interior fittings might tell you that. It also means that you are sharing something really special with us. So if you do choose to stay, be sure to enjoy yourselves.

As well as several good and famous golf courses to play, you can participate in sunset boat trips, barbecue boat trips, dolphin safaris and cave tours, jet ski rental, rocket ski boats, parasailing, yacht and power boat charter, big game fishing trips, or visit the local dive school, all at Albufeira Marina. Elsewhere, you can go horse riding, hire a bicycle, visit Zoo Marine and Aqua Land Algarve Water Park. The list of activity options just goes on and on.......

An excellent, well appointed luxury apartment

This luxury appointed apartment has everything you need to enjoy a fantastic and relaxed holiday and is located in a lovely and quite part of Sao Rafael.. Bruce (and Elaine) the owner is very easy to deal with and responds to emails very quickly. He has a huge amount of knowledge about the apartment and the local area and this is reflected in the comprehensive Information Folder he has put together in the lounge. There are 2 large bedrooms, one ensuite with a really well appointed bathroom and the second has the blue rainshower bathroom just opposite the bedroom. This shower is fantastic and was our favourite. The large settee in the lounge area can be used as a pull out bed. and there is a further settee, coffee table and TV. A really nice spot to sit and relax. The kitchen is spacious with plenty of room to prepare meals and it has all the equipment you could need to cook and eat your own meals. It also meant you were not washing up every few minutes. There is a dishwasher, fridge and larger fridge/freezer which we used a lot.

Sitting on the patio eating our meals, drinking wine, watching the birds and appreciating the trees and bushes in full bloom was a favourite activity for us. The complex has a large pool nearby with a bar/café open during the summer months, a great place to take children. There are several sandy beaches a few minutes walk away, the nearest has a fantastic restaurant.

The apartment is within walking distance of a number of good bars and restaurants. The walk to Albufeira Marina and then into the Old Town is well worth doing as is a stop at one of the bars on the Marina, the half way point.

All in all we had a great time at a great apartment which we have no hesitation in recommending highly and we will certainly be going back.

Well maintained superior apartment

Set in well maintained grounds the apartment is spacious with quality fittings in all areas. There’s a superior feel to all aspects. The beds are comfortable, the drench showers are irresistible, the kitchen diner is delightful so we really enjoyed our time in this space. There’s no hesitation in recommending the apartment. The location is just a few minutes from sandy beaches in each direction so we took advantage of this each day. The free car parking and WiFi were appreciated. We enjoyed sitting out gazing at the wonderful palm tree skyline. Overall our experience exceeded expectations.

A very relaxing week away with friends

This is the third time I have visited this property, very much home from home. The apartment is perfectly located within easy reach of so many beautiful beaches and places to visit.

It also has everything ! including a juicer for those delicious oranges sold on the side of the road, not to be missed. We also booked an amazing boat trip on the Finismar sailing boat, incredible experience, Ricardo our crew member was sensational, so knowledgable and helpful. This really is a delightful place and we had the weather too, perfect just perfect.

10 day cycling holiday based at Sao Rafael.

What a superb place to stay ,this very spacious 2 bedroom apartment had everything we needed to make our stay most memorable.On arrival it was spotlessly clean throughout , it had all the comforts of home to hand , far more than other apartments we have stayed in.A detailed folder is there for all users to browse ,some excellent detailed information of the local area and the Algarve itself.Location wise it was ideal for starting each days cycle ride ( or walking ) , routes easily accessible either coastal or inland , only 6k from train station of 3K from the bus station which then opens up all the Algarve.Local amenities give you the option of local or tourist bars , restaurants , supermarkets.A 45 minute steady walk along the headland takes you through a wonderful harbour in to the centre of Albufeira , 7 euros gets you a taxi back.I would highly recommend this apartment to any one especially families , you will not be disappointed.

As you will know, there is an official cycle route that runs the whole length of the Algarve, all 150 miles, which almost passes our front door! Location

Car: not necessary

The location in Sao Rafael just seems to have it all. The fabulous beaches (or pools) are a 5 minutes walk away. There is a selection of bars, restaurants and a grocery shop 10 mins walk away. The local beach walks along the coast are just lovely. The popular old town of Abufeira, with all of the entertainment you might wish for is just 3kms away, a 30 minute walk. or 5 minutes by car/taxi. Along the way, you will pass Albufeira Marina, with its bars, restaurants, water sports facilities & shops. The local bus stop is 10 mins up the road for the service which runs along the coast and to/from Albufeira. The slide 'n splash water park near Logoa is 30 minutes away (by car/taxi). If you need more shopping, then the nearby major Algarve shopping centre is 10 mins away (by car/taxi) and opens daily 10am/11pm. As well as the pool and the local beaches, there are so many things to do in the area, which will cater for all age groups. Have a look at Trip Advisor for "The Algarve - Things to do". You may have to limit your choices! Most of all, just enjoy the sunshine, where the average temperature is 10/15c warmer that the UK. Average temperatures are up to 21c in March and 25c in October, which can't be bad!

Outside of July/Aug & Sept, we are delighted to accept stays of 3 nights or more. Unlimited Wi Fi is included. A high chair and travel cot are optional extras and can be hired in for your stay. The high chair is UK£15 per week or part week and the travel cot is UK£20 per week or part week. Please let us know about these items at the time of booking. Our property management team are fluent English speaking and are available to help you at any time during your stay. Keys will be made available to you upon your arrival. Please vacate by 10am and arrive after 3.00pm, unless by prior arrangement, to allow sufficient time for cleaning. Changeover Day - Midweek or weekend arrivals and departures are acceptable, except for the Peak Season where weekend changeovers are preferred. Notes on prices: 'Special' Deals are available for extended stays during the winter months.
