About the property

Converted Barns In A Quiet Rural Area, 5 Miles From Coast At Crackington Haven

Beech Cottage, ‘the upside down house’, is set in large tranquil gardens at the end of a private tree lined drive, surrounded by open countryside, five miles from the coast at Crackington Haven. It has three bedrooms, for up to five guests, plus kitchen and living/dining room with log fire. If you need to relax this is the perfect place, open the french doors on the first floor, let the sun shine in and listen to the birds, it’s a great place to sit and chill. Being converted from an 18th century barn, there are some low beams on the ground floor, which can be a hazard to those over 6’.

The gardens comprise bbq areas with picnic tables, playing field with swings, small copse to exercise your dog and for the children, a chance to feed the goats and chickens in the morning.

The cottage is an ideal touring base for the north Cornish and Devon coast, famous for its sandy beaches, rock pools, surfing and coastal walks. It is two miles from the A39, with Crackington Haven, Bude and Boscastle all nearby. Clovelly, the Eden Project, and Padstow are all within a 45-minute drive. We are open throughout the year. Short breaks available in the low season and at short notice subject to availability. ETC 4 star rating.

About Beech Cottage at Trenannick Farm

I'm Lorraine and I live in the farmhouse next to the cottages with my partner Geoff and our two teenage daughters. We moved here in 2000 just before the children started at school. Growing up with large gardens to run and play, animals and the beach just down the road was the perfect start for a four and two year old. Over the years we have become friends with many of our guests who return time after time, some of whom have actually moved nearby. We show all our guests into the cottages and are always here if you have any problems or you just want a chat. Having worked for John Lewis for over 20 years, looking after our customers/guests is our top priority.

Why Beech Cottage at Trenannick Farm chose North Cornwall

We looked around north Cornwall for two years to find somewhere to buy, but nothing excited us, until we turned into the tree lined drive of Trenannick Farmhouse. It was a thundery day in December 1999 and there were massive downpours, but the moment we turned into the drive Geoff said he wanted to buy it. It could have been a total wreck and we would have moved in, but luckily everything was perfect.

We had looked at many properties before but the combination of a 16th century farmhouse, the kind of cottages that we would like to have stayed in, the views, and the great base for future guests to tour from made the decision to buy a very easy one.

What makes this cottage unique

We have the best of all worlds here. The views, the peace and quiet, the slower pace of life, locals have time to talk to each other, beach visits after school, walks on the moor and along the coast, great pubs and restaurants, a great local cinema, what's not to like!

With the A39 just down the lanes this is the perfect base to explore all that north Cornwall has to offer.

Idylle sorgte für Super-Erholung

  • 5 of 5
