Are you looking for something a little bit different? A place a ‘bit out of the way’ and ‘off the beaten track’? Self catering but comfortable? Some where near the sea with walks and nice places of interest to visit?
How about a family built log cabin?
We have just the place. A real one, built with proper big logs cut and carried and placed by a forester for his family to holiday in. And now welcome you to come and stay in it too.
The cabin is on the hillside overlooking East Portholland bay, the coast path and coastline beyond. After a slight climb up the coast path and a further 24 steps to the decking you can turn and look at the stunning view.
Turn back and enter through double glazed glass doors to the outer cabin where there is a ‘pot bellied’ wood burning stove for those cool evenings, a table and chairs, TV and a few books.
Continue further and enter the main cabin where you will find a small well equipped kitchen, double bed settee and twin bunk beds (stored against the wall if not needed), a small wet room and toilet.
Have a good look around it with the video or check it out in pictures in the gallery.
The cabin sleeps 4 comfortably.
Mobile phones have a poor reception here so we offer free WIFI.
We are Ross and Annie and we live in SeaSpray cottage, just down the coast path from the log cabin. We have lived here a good many years as Ross is a genuine forester on the estate. We built the cabin from scratch, by hand, and we are very proud of it.
We love to garden and enjoy the quiet village life of Portholland.
Annie Downes-Letch purchased this cabin in 2013
This log cabin is totally unique, hand built to the highest specification, and above all beautifully situated high above East Portholland.
Set in its own natural garden, this is the perfected secluded property for anyone wishing to get away from it all.
With views of the bay, a sheltered garden, a log burner for the chillier evenings behind double glazed, fully opening patio doors, and a BBQ deck, you will feel the tranquility and peace as you choose whether or not to join the outside world.
Thankyou Annie and Ross for a lovely welcome and stay in your beautiful lodge, very natural rustic and spiritual, wouldn't change a thing, made our 18th Wedding anniversary very special.(thanks for the card & wine)Hope to see you real soon, take care.
This tiny village is located on the Caerhays Estate, in an area of natural beauty.
