About Alan and Ann Clegg

The house is owned by Alan and Ann Clegg. Alan is a retired accountant and Ann used to be a lecturer in tourism. They are members of the National Trust, and the Wildlife Trust. They live next door and look after the property and give advice about where to visit, bird-watch and walk.

Why Alan and Ann Clegg chose St Ives area

We bought this property as it is next door to our own house. With the advice of a local architect, we completely refurbished it in 2009 and our first visitors thought it was new. We love the house for its direct view of the sea and sand and for the wonderful variety of birds we see. We want to share this with our guests so we supply you with binoculars and a telescope.

What makes this bungalow unique

The unique benefit of this house is its quiet location with car parking in its own driveway, away from the busy main roads where you can sit in the garden and enjoy the uninterrupted sea views. It is very spacious inside and furnished as a home from home. It has excellent central heating and is very well insulated for winter stays.

This house is in a very quiet location away from main roads with unrestricted views across the Hayle Estuary to the RSPB bird reserve and is just a few minutes walk along the lane to the sandy beach. It has its own exclusive driveway. It is on the edge of the village of Lelant on the outskirts of St. Ives. The village has two inns which serve food. There are frequent bus services to St. Ives, Penzance and Truro and two rails stations on St. Ives line, close by.

We are located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Devon & Cornwall Tin Mining so it is possible to visit an historic tin mine at Geevor. Land's End is a must for the scenic views and to be able to say that you reached the end of England!
