About Terry Kaiser
Hola, I have lived in Baja off and on since I was a child. My parents retired to this area 40 years. I was one of the first Americans to visit and build in La Ventana I was lucky enough to be able to pick the perfect beach front location for my home. The Dunes is located on one of the nicest sandy beaches in the entire area. My son Miggie was born in La Ventana in 1997 so if you have kids please don't hesitate to call me for information. The house is kid and baby safe. The entire home is surrounded in patios with the most amazing views! This is a home that was lived in year round and because of that is decorated with beautiful artwork and furniture that is extremely comfortable. You won't find white walls and rock hard couches and chairs. Please feel free to call and chat, I would love to tell you all about La Ventana and the surrounding areas. By the way I have a couple of beach front lots and views lots for sale so please ask for the details. Hasta pronto Terry
Terry Kaiser purchased this House in 1999

Excellent Beachfront Spot
My friends and I recently stayed at the Dunes and it was the perfect beachfront spot. We used the casita as well and there was more than enouh room for everyone. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and most days we cooked at the house. Access to the beach is epic and was kiteboarding in a manner of minutes, launching right in front of thr house. All around its a great home and highly recommend.
Thanks Paul, I'm so glad you all enjoyed your stay and I hope that you will beable to return soon! Happy Holidays!
Beautiful back deck. We spent most of our house time out back.
Had an amazing time at The Dunes last week. First of all, Terry was extremely easy to book thru and very responsive. The house was beautiful and the view is literally breathtaking. Absolutely incredible!! The pictures on the listing are very accurate with the exception of the view. Now way could any picture do the view from the living room and patio justice.
Benny and his wife were great, checked in on us often and we hired them to cook us dinner for 2 nights in a row. Food was spectacular and they served us like we were in a restaurant.
Kids had a great time at the beach. The reef right in front of the house had lots of fish and marine life to look at while snorkeling. We went fishing for 2 of the days and caught 60 pound tuna and dorado (mahi mahi). The boats were able to pick us up right in front of the house which was amazing. All in all we had a spectacular time and already have another trip booked in October.
A few tips.............
1. Bring water shoes. The sand is a lil coarse on the beach and after a few days, feet can get a lil raw. Flip Flops make it kinda worse IMO. I have been coming to this area for almost 10 years and this is the same for almost all the beaches in ES/LV.
2. This town used to have ATM machines at the Cerralvo Club Hotel, but they do NOT anymore. Get plenty of pesos in La Paz or Cabo on the way in to town.
3. Wake up early and watch the sunrise over the island.......INCREDIBLE!!!!
First of all, thank you for loving my home and La Ventana as much as I do!
I'm so happy you and the family enjoyed your stay. Looking forward to hosting you in October.
Terry's place was over the top great! We went to kite (1st time) and the wind came up everyday mid morning. The views from the master and living room were spectacular, the house was clean and beautiful. The outdoor shower was hot and set up great for wet suit removal and also an outdoor gear area. The beds were comfortable and the towels ans sheets here soft and clean with extras available. Also there is a little grocery store (that takes credit cards) right around the corner so you can easily run and grab groceries anytime. We will be going back for sure.
I'm thrilled you and your family loved my home and La Ventana.
I hope that you are able to return very soon.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful property. The pictures are accurate.
Beautiful sunrises from the house. Walls of glass with wonderful views. The pictures of the house were just as we found it. The property was well maintained and clean. Kiteboarding right in front of the house
Great relaxing vacation
The house is beautiful, it is right on the beach, just walk down the stairs and jump in the water!
We were a group of 8, 4 adults and 4 kids (5-9), we stayed at Terry's place for one week over the 4th of July week. We flew from San Diego, actually Tijuana airport, we used Uber to get to the CBX bridge crossing which worked very well. Several lines to get tickets, security, immigration, check bags, security and then to the gate. We gave ourselves 2.5 hours and that was enough time but we were a little stressed towards the end.
It was low season so the beach was ours (only a handful of other people could be seen throughout the day). The negative of the low season is that it was hot (95F) and most of the restaurants were closed.
We spent the mornings swimming, snorkeling and enjoying the house. In front of the house there is a reef so we usually went down the beach 100 feet to an area where there is no reef to swim. The reef has a lot of animal life, we saw lots of fish, manta, eels, starfish, puffer fish, etc. We usually went for lunch out in town (we liked Los Palmas) then spent the early afternoon in the shade. We also spent a lot of time at the pool (short walk away).
There is a grocery store nearby with the basics, we ate mostly salsa, guac., and mangos, Pacifico and margaritas. We had stopped in Walmart near the airport for some basics, including a foam cool that was very useful (i would also suggest bringing some good beer koozies).
We went to a nearby resort, Gran Sueño, about 40 minutes away. They let us use their pool and beach and beach toys (kayak, SUP, boogie boards) and they have a nice restaurant. I really loved this resort.
We took a fishing trip (Benni, our caretaker at Terry's house, organized for us). We caught a few dorado and were able to feed ourselves from that for several meals! There were a lot of manta ray jumping and we saw dolphins and other wildlife.
Overall, it was a very beautiful, quiet, laidback and affordable place to spend a week. Beni was great and Terry was very responsive and helpful. Thank you!
Thanks so much for taking the time to write an informative review. I'm so glad that you had such a fabulous vacation.
Take care and I hope you're able to return soon!
