Lovely North Wales retreat

  • 5 of 5

Such a comfortable cottage, spacious, spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. We received a lovely warm welcome from the owner, with lots of extra touches provided - welsh cakes, wine, and some home produced meat products. The cottage is situated on a working farm, with lovely country side views. Our children loved the outside space and farm animals. The location is peaceful and perfectly positioned for all the attractions North Wales has to offer.

Clean, bright and the perfect base from which to explore!

  • 5 of 5

The property was very clean and well maintained with good facilities including the essentials (e.g. Towels, blankets and toilet rolls).

It was in a great location with fantastic views of Snowdonia and close proximity to Caernarfon where 3 of the main supermarkets were available (as well as the castle). We also enjoyed seeing the farm animals with the horses in particular a firm favourite.

Maureen and her family were very welcoming and helpful although we did not need to ask for anything during our stay because it was all provided...thank you for a lovely stay!

Beautiful and serene place to stay in

  • 5 of 5

The barn conversion was a home away from home. We stayed there for a couple of nights. It was very comfortable and the owners were very friendly and helpful. I would be surely staying in this place again.

A hidden gem

  • 5 of 5

What a great property, the pictures do not do it justice, the beds are extremely comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need and the bathroom is not only well appointed its also huge.

We spent 3 nights here starting Friday 9th June so my daughter and her friend could walk up Snowdon we received a very warm welcome and were shown around the property nothing was too much trouble.

The location is brilliant, not overlooked and peaceful, what more could you want. Definitely on the list for a revisit.

Outstanding

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is beautiful, exceptionally well appointed throughout with the most amazing views over countryside and to the sea, and is so peaceful. It is very close to everything you would want when visiting North Wales. A short drive could find you in Bangor, Llanberis or Caernarfon, and you could just walk out the door to find yourself in the countryside. Owners are very friendly and helpful, on hand if needed, but leave you to enjoy your stay. There is always a bottle of wine, some Welsh cakes and food in the freezer from their farm shop - the turkey burgers are amazing. This was our fourth visit and we are planning another for the Autumn, it is an ideal location and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else now when visiting North Wales. We can't recommend it highly enough.

A holiday in North Wales has something for everyone, mountains, castles and beaches offering activity, sightseeing and pure relaxation.

If you are looking for an action packed holiday Snowdonia provides challenging terrain for mountain biking, cycling, rock climbing, scrambling, hiking and the Menai Straits for kayaking and canoeing. Local outdoor centres include Plas Y Brenin and Plas Menai for instruction and guidance

For those seeking less strenuous exercise the North Wales Path and Anglesey Coastal Path offer beautiful walks taking in fantastic sea views, alternatively hire a bike and enjoy the Lon Las or Lon Eifion cycle tracks or enjoy the views from a rowing boat on a quiet lake

If you prefer total relaxation a visit to one of Anglesey's many beautiful beaches may appeal, or experience the breathtaking views on a trip on the Snowdon Mountain Railway or the Welsh Highland Railway or visit the Welsh Mountain Zoo or Anglesey Sea Zoo or explore the historic castles in Caernarfon, Conwy or Beaumaris. For a bit of an adrenaline rush, why not try the longest zip wire experience over the Penrhyn Quarry, or a bounce below ground on the suspended bouncing experience in the largest slate caverns in Llechwedd.

Whilst in the area a visit to quaint villages such as Betws-y-Coed, Beddgelert or Llanberis is a must. Restaurants, cafes and coffee shops are plentiful and cater for all tastes.
