|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Nestled in the forest, just minutes from the shores of beautiful Loch Awe, Kinglas Log Cabin is wonderfully secluded and private.
This cosy cabin, which sleeps up to 4 people, is centrally heated and double-glazed throughout. Its fully equipped kitchen has a cooker, fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave as well as a range of utensils and crockery.
The deck, overlooking the forest, is a fantastic place to spot local wildlife – from red squirrels, birds of all varieties, and maybe if you are very lucky, a pine marten around dusk or dawn.
Recently extended, the bathroom has a power shower, W.C., wash hand basin and heated towel rail.
Bedrooms are one double and one bunk room with two full-sized bunk beds. Both rooms have ample storage for clothes.
With TV, DVD and CD player, there is no end of entertainment, however step through the patio doors onto the outside deck and you will find what you really came for.
The cabin has ample parking for 2 cars and sits on a large, secluded plot.
All electricity and linen (not towels) are included within quoted prices. This is a non smoking cabin.
The property was very cute, very well stocked, clean and comfortable. Had a wonderful stay!

The area surrounding Loch Awe Forest Cabins is a beautiful and unspoiled environment which offers a wide range of activities and things to do, such as:
The area is fantastic for walkers with access to some breaktaking scenery and wildlife habitat. The Forestry Comission manage and promote numerous sign posted routes in the area and for the more adventurous there are limitless footpaths & forestry tracks which are open to the public (unless logging operations in progress). The area is a paradise for dog walkers and dogs are welcome in our cabins.
As for walkers there are numerous sign posted routes and endless footpaths & tracks for cyclists in the area. Bike hire is available at “The Bike Shed” in Dalavich.
The area has, we believe, an unrivalled abundance of wildlife. The area has a very healthy population of Red Squirrels, which are frequently seen around the site. Pine Marten are also common in the area and can often be enticed onto verandas of forest cabins at night by an offering of bread and jam or honey. Golden Eagle and of late White tailed Sea Eagles nest nearby and can occasionally be seen flying high over head. In 2014 three pairs of Ospreys nested within 3 miles of the site and were easily viewed on the nest near Mackenzies Grove car park. We also have Otters, Red Deer, Roe Deer, Sika Deer, Fox, Beaver (Knapdale), Scottish Wild Cat, Wild Boar (several unconfirmed sightings), many woodland birds and waterfowl and even the infamous Kilchrennan black cat in the area.
Loch Awe is an amazing location for boating, with numerous bays, Cranogs, rivers and islands to explore. Whether you launch your own motor boat or canoe from our launch facility or hire a boat from Loch Awe Marine in the village there will be lots to see and do. Why not take a BBQ or picnic across at Innisconnel Castle island.
The area offers some of the best wild fishing in Scotland. Loch Awe holds the current (and previous two) record for the largest brown trout caught in the British Isles and is renowned for its monster pike and has growing numbers of Atlantic Salmon, Sea Trout & Charr. Loch Avich, the rivers Orchy and Awe and a multitude of mountain lochans also provide excellent fishing, permits for which can also be purchased locally.
There are 4 castles as well as many ruins & Crannogs (off shore man made stone islands for settlements) to explore around Loch Awe. Kilchurn Castle, ancestral seat of the Campbell Clan, is the most iconic and arguably the most stunning castle in Scotland. In addition to this you have Fraoch Eilean, Innisconnel, and Fincharn castles to find and explore. Innisconnel is a beautiful, mystic ruin on a small island (accessible by boat), across the loch from Dalavich. A must do trip for a BBQ or picnic!
