Great apartment for 2 people

The apartment is just a two-minute walk away from several bus stops, a five-minute walk from the metro and a leisurely twenty-minute walk from the city centre. There are several restaurants nearby but just 10 minutes away at the "Mercado do Bom Sucesso" you will find a dozen or more restaurants under one roof.

The apartment is adequately furnished and there is Internet access and a TV with over 100 channels. The sofa is a little uncomfortable, however this doubles as a bed, when there are three or four guests staying. The kitchen was satisfactory, as was the bedroom and bathroom. The only negative point was that the water from the taps had a brown hue, and so we bought bottled water for our hot and cold drinks.

The owner was outside the apartment when we arrived and explained everything clearly to us. He contacted us by email a couple of times during our ten-day stay to ensure that everything was okay. We did not see him on the day we departed. The bedding and towels were changed once during our stay.

For price and location I recommend this apartment, but be aware that it is located on the second floor and that there are two flights of stairs to climb.

Pleasant apartment, not too far from anywhere

We enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Manuel was exceptionally helpful, supplying great information before we arrived, but also taking the time to explain some of the attractions in Porto, and how to get to them.

Overall, I'd be happy to stay here again.

Great host & location

Manuel is very kind and truthful guy,he recommended 3 restaurant but all are very good!He kindly showed us tourist points and we easily followed.also I rented a bike that helps my training for marathon as I got pain with my legs.-last Sunday I run marathon with good time,thanks!Apartment is situated good location and I recommend anybody who visit Porto!

Appartement trop décentré ( a bit out of down town, don't forget the big slope to go to the DOURO)

L'appartement est très bien mais est à mon goût trop décentré si on veut aller jusqu'à la cathédrale ou pire jusqu'à la rive du Douro (lieu très sympa), il y a pas mal à marcher et vu la très forte pente, malgré que nous avons l'habitude de beaucoup marcher et que nous sommes sportifs, nous ne revenions pas à l'appartement en cours de journée car il faut bien compter 1h pour un aller retour (beaucoup de monde et trottoir avec trous et "pièges": regarder vos pieds en marchant!). Par ailleurs, il faut savoir que des coqs chantent jour et nuit (à côté de l'appartement), heureusement ayant l'habitude à la campagne j'ai réussi à dormir quand même...

L'idéal est à mon avis d'avoir un appartement près de la gare des trains, ou mieux un hôtel car on peut manger à pas cher (moins de 10 euros le repas complet). La boulangerie pâtisserie au pied de l'appartement n'est pas terrible à mon goût (en fait il y a peu de choses dans le quartier). Gros avantage du quartier c'est qu'il est en dehors de la zone centrale et on y évite le bruit (jusqu'à tard dans la nuit) des restos, bars et boîtes de nuit, ce qui est quelque chose dans le centre ville!... 3 jours à PORTO c'est un maxi à faire car il n'y a pas grand chose à voir, même en allant à la plage (rochers et grosses vagues : pas facile d'y nager).

You can visit the surrounding areas from the apartment where there are museums, Casa da Musica, Crystal Palace, Serralves Museum, City Park, Clerigos Tower or to walk to Ribeira where you can visit the Caves do Vinho do Porto, make cruise boat, enjoy snacks and a Port wine in the many typical taverns while enjoying a unique landscape of the Douro River and its shoreline features so if you want to go to the beach is 30 minutes away by subway. Next to the apartment, find local restaurants, bars with nightlife 500 meters and nightclubs!
