Overview

About the property

Elegant and bright apartment with beautiful canal view, up to 5 people

The little palace where the apartment is situated the pearl was built several centuries ago - as most of the Venetian buildings- and it Has Been difficult to restore to its original state.

Two full years of intense restoration has recuperated its artistic and cultural beauty so well known all over the world.

The main structure Has Been kept two to strict rules of our monument conservation superintendent That forbids futuristic transformations.

PEARL apartment has three areas about the same size and facing the canal. We were incendio Obtain a large living room, a medium kitchen, three bedrooms, two large bathrooms without changing the outside looks fantastic. From each room you can enjoy a unique view on the canal and mostly open space around.

The floors are in jroko wood cut in large boards and inserted along the wall in a wide sheet of Istrian stone (recuperated from the restoration) and treated with bee wax. This gives an extraordinary brightness to the room.

The bathrooms are really luxurious all in marble. The bathroom with bathtub is in Peach of Verona marble recalling the Istrian stone of the other room.

The bathroom with twin lavatories and shower is travertine flowery marble and stone.

The original ceiling beams and the faux finishing of the walls, as well as all other details speak of a true venetian house.

The furnishing is elegant. We chose good quality for the beds, the furniture and the well equipped kitchen. Avoiding any exaggeration. You have all the space to create your own atmosphere. The location of the house is rather central Within walking distance you can reach the Academy area, the Saint Rocco and Frari churches. In 15 minutes you can go to Saint Mark's Square and the Doge's Palace, street on March 22 with its famous boutiques.

If you want to rest for a while you can sit in one of the small cafe in the least squares inhabited by Venitians and not invaded by tourists. You can stroll in Saint Barnabas square or along the Zattere facing the basin. In the evening you can have a full immersion in the very lively Campo Santa Margherita, general meeting point for a sprtiz, a typical Venetian aperitif.

This is our Venice, the Venice we like to offer you.

Very well situated, comfortable apartment in a fine building on a canal.

  • 4 of 5

Very centrally placed for a stay in Venice, away from the main tourist run and only three minutes from the Zattere. Highly recommended, with three comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms (a necessity when there are more than four people staying). It is not always the case in Venice that apartments have up-to-date kitchens, but this kitchen is modern, well appointed and a great asset. The sitting room/dining area consists of an arm-chair, a two person sofa, table and six dining chairs and a bean-bag. My only qualification is that the bean-bag was not very comfortable and not entirely appropriate for an apartment of this class. Also, for some (i.e., me!) getting out of the bean-bag was quite struggle - but I suppose that is just a consequence of ageing! As I say, this is a good apartment for your stay in Venice.

  • 3 of 5

Lovely apartment but furniture in living area inadequate, especially only comfortable chair badly in need of repair.

Dull knives and more silverware(knives and spoons) needed for meals.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your review and advices, even if I think your comment is really unfair. I am very sorry these are the only things you noticed of my apartment, normally all my guests love it and appreciate the cleanliness, the tranquillity, the beautiful view from any of the windows, the big space and even the decoration and the furnitures! the check in service is very kind and lovely , the location is perfect , in a good position respect all the most important place in Venice.... Anyway I am sure future guests will appreciate all this and will continue to leave good reviews as I think my house deserves. Best wishes, Irene

Wonderful 3 Bedroom apt. in Dorsoduro District

  • 5 of 5

First off, what a great location. An easy short walk from two different vaporetti stops. Restaurants galore on our street. Easy walk to the Academia Bridge and the Rialto Bridge.

Be aware that the apartment is on the third floor of this beautifully restored villa.

The apartment is COMPLETE. Everything you will need for up to 6 people. It has real old world lived in charm while providing all of the modern conveniences. Good storage space for everything. Large dining room table and 6 chairs. We loved the view of the canal right out our windows. Helpful greeter, who led us from the vaporetto stop and the owner Irene was always available to answer any questions or problems. We really enjoyed our three week stay.

Clean and great location!

  • 5 of 5

We were first time visitors to Venice. The apartment is located in a very central location. We were met by Julia who was very helpful with directions and gave several good recommendations for places to eat and how to get to all the attractions. We are very pleased with the layout of the apartment as we were staying with our two adult children. I would highly recommend staying at this location as it is no more than and 10-20 minute walk from all of the major attractions in Venice. Irene is a great host and was very accommodating to any request we had. Thanks again for making our stay in Venice memorable!

Delightfull and comfortable appartment so conveniently located in Dorsoduro.

  • 5 of 5

We were absolutely delighted to stay in your beautiful apartment which was perfect for our group of 5 . Staying here added to the whole Venice experience. It is ideally located in the Dorsoduro district convenient to restaurants, supermarket and water bus stops. We would happily recommend this apartment to family and friends. Top tip: If you are staying in Venice for a few days buy a travel pass and make the waterbus your main means of getting round. It is so unique and enjoyable. Under 28s get a substantial discount.

Location

Dorsoduro is one of the most beautiful district of Venice. It houses some of the most picturesque canals and palaces, and some of the town's great art showcases, without the pretension and tourist traps That you might expect. It's a student area, home to Venice's Ca 'Foscari University, and has Opinions more late-night drinking bars than the rest of Venice. The general vibe is artistic, youthful and relaxed.

The district's hub is Campo Santa Margherita, a long field fulfils Which just about every function of a public square: in the daytime you'll find a market, children playing, antique stalls, locals walking dogs, a supermarket and cafes. In the evening this Becomes Venice's liveliest nightspot - Although That is not saying a lot in this city tame. Still, the bars are open until midnight or later, and throngs of young people gather here to sip the occasional drink and to catch up with friends.

In Dorsoduro you can find the most important museums and art galleries of the city such as Accademia galleries, Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Punta della Dogana (modern art galleries situated in a wonderful location recently restored by Tadao Ando) and Ca 'Rezzonico museum (a museum of the 18th Century in a beautiful Venetian palace on the Grand Canal).

Anche There are many important churches, as the church of Health (very important for Venetians for the Madonna della Salute feast on 21st November), San Sebastian (almost Entirely decorated by Paolo Veronese, who is buried here anche) and the Church of the Carmini (large church with paintings by Lorenzo Lotto and Cima da Conegliano. The adjacent school has a ceiling by Giambattista Tiepolo).

Just a 5 minutes walk and you will reach anche the Frari with Titian's and Bellini's painting.

One of the most characteristic place in Dorsoduro and in the whole Venice is the Squero of San Trovaso (a small boatyard for making gondolas).

The eastern end of the rafts (a long promenade That the faces of Giudecca Canal and Giudecca island), along by Venice's old salt storehouses, can be empty and atmospheric. The western section, where you'll find bars and a kiosk selling drinks, is where locals go to bask in the spring sunshine.

If there are Biennale shows hosted there, or by special appointment, try to visit the glamorous Palazzo Zenobio on Fondamenta del Soccorso, with its Baroque ballroom and grand garden pavilion. It's now an Armenian institute, and offers cheap hostel-type accommodation (see our links panel).

About eating and drinking, Dorsoduro has the usual tourist restaurants, but anche plenty of cheap places for the students and resident people.
