Our family of 4 stayed at woodpecker barn for 1 week. I will begin with a positive and say the barn was spacious and well positioned.
Unfortunately our experience was marred by not finding the accommodation and its facilities as described/advertised.
There was NO tumble dryer ( as stated).
The kitchen crockery/utensils were poorly provided, there was only 3 cereal bowls ( no other bowls to eat from) so we had to go buy one.
There was NO cork screw either.
The dishwasher worked but did NOT clean the dishes no matter what setting you set it to? ( bought good quality tablets)
The boiler broke down and we had no hot water from one evening to the following day, but I can honestly say the owner did engage a plumber as soon as I reported it and the boiler was fixed as quickly as possible. Which was a relief!
The shower in the main bathroom was very poor with no real pressure behind it and showering took ages. :(. The toilet flush button in this bathroom was broken too, so flushing meant you had to balance the silver button on the trigger every flush. Once you got it to flush the noise of the plumbing on the re-fill was horrendous ( and woke the whole house at night)
The en suite bathroom shower was better ( from taps), but you could not stand up in the bath to shower as the ceiling was very low at an angle.
There was NO vacuum cleaner?
The mattress on the king size bed was awful to sleep on and by Thursday I wanted to come home!. My back hurt everyday ( and I do not suffer from back ache normally), my husband had the same issues with the mattress too!. You woke up in the morning with marks on your body where the springs had been as you lay. The mattress seems fine if your sitting on the edge or laying on it for short periods, BUT NOT all night as a normal sleeping period.
The fridge freezer was a joke!. it was a little fridge with a freezer box at the top inside, and it froze everything that was not on the bottom shelf! ( had to re-shop for chilled items as it ruined it).
All in all....we became frustrated, sore, and very disappointed at the extra inconvenience and difficulties this holiday home delivered.
If the issues are addressed, then it would be great!
I have been honest in my review and Im sorry if it makes for a disappointing read.
p.s ( it was a shared garden and not private as advertised, )
A beautiful barn conversion, with lots of room. Ideal for exploring the Cornish coast and counryside
Excellent property in a beautiful rural location convenient for Looe, Polperro and the fantastic hidden gem of Millendreath Beach with The Black Rock Cafe serving outstanding food all day long.
Property is perfect for relaxing in a peaceful setting away from the madding crowds.
Would definitely stay here again and recommend without hesitation.
Verhuurder/Eigenaar is erg servicegericht. Zowel voorafgaand aan het verblijf als tijdens het verblijf werden vragen snel beantwoord.
