The Autumn Cottage has been lovingly designed to offer our guests the full flavor of Bend. This cozy heritage home also provides you with many modern ammenities for your comfort. Consistant upgrades and our personal touches will ensure that your stay in Bend is as special as the area itself.
This Cottage has two bedrooms (one king size, one queen size) a nice bathroom with shower/tub combo, a well appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and comfortable living space with gas fireplace, flatscreen TV/DVD/I-pod dock, desk area, and free Wi-Fi to keep you connected.
You can also enjoy our fully fenced backyard that has a gas BBQ, outdoor bistro table, and private HOT TUB for your 'end-of-a-fun-Bend-day' soaks under the stars.
As an added bonus The Autumn Cottage is just a short 1 block stroll into the historic downtown and the fine dining, galleries, brew pubs, shops, and the Deschutes River. You can walk to it all....or ride one of the 2 vintage bikes we have for your use during the summer season (Memorial Day to Labor Day) The basket holds a growler of local brew or a loaf of fresh baked French bread just perfectly!

About Lisa McDonald
HI----my name is Lisa and I have been a Bend-ite for over 40 years, and am very proud to have watched her grow from a very small town to a very small city. Always unique. I live on a 20 acre ranch and grow hay, raise chickens, and garden-up wonderful vegetables. I run my cottages like I run my life. Great attention to detail and personal attention to my guests----I believe every Bend vacation at the cottages should be a great one, if I do my job right. If you call you'll actually talk to me! Look forward to it----

Adorable, clean cottage in the perfect location!
We had a wonderful stay at the Autumn Cottage. It was nicely equipped, had comfortable beds and was clean. The hot tub was a perfect way to start and end our day. In addition to the home itself, the location could not have been better. We walked to town a few times a day for a morning coffee, meals and of course the breweries! We will definitely be returning in the near future!
Hi- Thanks for sharing! We enjoyed hearing that the cottage made your Bend-time even better --- that's what we go for. In the coming weeks we will be planting our flowers, doing our outside Spring cleaning, and putting out the bikes for the summer too --- it just keeps getting better! Have a great Summer and hope to see you back again soon for more Central Oregon fun!
Great cottage, quiet area, terribly uncomfortable furniture
We loved the convenience of the location. The cottage is generally well appointed, and the hot tub is very nice. A+ on these bits.
However, as it stands, we would never stay here again unless the owner upgrades the furniture. The mattresses are so old they squeak (metal springs!), and anytime someone moves the entire bed shakes and squeaks, waking you up. The mattresses are also so squishy that you are swallowed, and can’t lie comfortably on your side, back, or stomach. We’re both very fit, athletic types, and aside from not really sleeping, we got up every morning sore. The pillows were so thick and hard that we went to a local store and bought our own pillows to use. The couch is equally worn out and sunken as the mattresses, and you simply cannot sit on the couch in a comfortable manner.
If the owner chose to spend a few thousand bucks for comfortable mattresses and a couch to sit on, this place would get five stars. Everything except the furniture is great. Unfortunately, a big part of a stay is being comfortable.
Thanks for taking the time to write. We do agree that the Autumn Cottage is in a great location and is well appointed, and are sorry to hear you weren't comfortable there. We think she's pretty special.
I also had felt that the couch needed to be replaced so we ordered a beautiful new grey leather one a month ago and its due to be delivered in just 2 weeks. Very excited about that!
I'm so sorry you found the beds not to your taste --- we do find mattress firmness to be subjective though. Some like it hard and some like it soft. To that end we order top quality, hotel-grade, medium firm, pillow-top mattress sets for our homes. Unlike most vacation rentals we are also on a replacement rotation of every 4 years to keep them in top shape and newer. I will personally check to make sure all screws are tightened on the pedestals though, in case they are squeaking?
We also like to keep our linen fresh and new, and replace pillows every 4 months as well. That means they will be full and fresh and not flat. (Personally I like smaller squishy pillows so I always travel with my own for comfort --- that may be a good idea for you guys as well)
Thanks for sharing your thoughts --- have a wonderful Spring!
This was a perfect little house for me, hubby and pup to relax. Love the location and the ability to walk to all our favorite places. The house was clean and well decorated. You could tell it was a loved home. The hot tub was a dream to relax in after walking all day. Can’t wait to return!!
Charming cottage in downtown Bend.
We had a wonderful stay at the Autumn Cottage. It was the perfect size for the two of us. There was a problem with the WIFI when we arrived but it was taken care of the next morning. Great location for walking to restaurants and shopping.
Thank you both! We like to think of our Autumn Cottage as charming too. I'm so glad you felt that as well. She's is getting her new couch, some new art, and her special Spring cleaning this week. We like to keep her shining! Come back soon---- Lisa
A quaint, well appointed bungalow
We had a wonderful time at the Autumn Cottage! Close to everything in downtown Bend. Kitchen well stocked. The hot tub was great to return to after a hard days skiing. Very close and walkable to near by restaurants, Drake park, etc. Highly recommend this place for your next visit to Bend. We look forward to returning on our next trip.
Great to hear that you guys too, enjoyed my very favorite thing about the Autumn Cottage----getting to really EXPERIENCE Bend because of her wonderful location. Strolling to coffee, brew pubs, great dining, small shops, eclectic galleries and more.... You just have to love our historic downtown and her many treasures! Come back in warmer weather, hop on the cruiser bikes that we provide, and do it all over again!! Many thanks---
