Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Port Charlotte - Blue Waters

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This beautiful waterfront setting is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac...

We are on a huge lot overlooking intersecting canals where you can watch the heron and egrets fishing from the seawall while you enjoy the sunsets from the heated pool or hot tub. Patio and pool areas are furnished entirely in teak wood furniture. This house is a very comfortable space with great sunset views that is a home away from home! ALL NEW in January of 2014, we have finished our Kitchen Renovation and posted the new pictures. This major renovation will provide our guests with a brand new kitchen area that will now have water views along with brand new cabinets, stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops!

This home is furnished to make our guests feel at home with all the modern conveniences and yet it maintains a very comfortable relaxed feel that makes this beautiful space very enjoyable!

We are also very close to shopping and restaurants!

About The Owner

Hello!, This property is presented by Doug and Felicia who live in Miami and have vacationed on the Florida West Coast for the last 20 years. After finding this house in 2002, they established a permanent vacation spot for them, their kids and the fortunate few renters who have stayed there!

The Owner purchased this house in 2002

Why The Owner chose Florida South Central Gulf Coast

We randomly happened onto this beautiful place while stopping in Port Charlotte for a lunch break in route from Tampa back to our home in Miami. A local agent mentioned the property in passing and after seeing it, we put an offer on it right there! The house was in need of updating but we saw the location and waterfront as too good to pass up. We have updated and added central air conditioning, the pool patio and 210' new seawall with a boat dock and sitting docks. Port Charlotte is one of those great Florida towns where you are still greeted with a friendly 'Hello' almost anywhere you go. We love vacationing there to get away from the hectic pace of our lives in Miami. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do!

What makes this house unique

The house opens up to the water front. With a triple glass slider opening from the living area onto the screened pool patio, you can enjoy the view from inside or out. The canal provides great wildlife viewing including plenty of waterbirds like egerets and herons, the occasional dolphin swimming through fishing for dinner in the canals, plenty of fish jumping, some great bird watching on our bird feeders and a bald eagle that frequents the big tree in the back yard. Along with this, you are only a couple minutes drive from grocery shopping and dining establishments! It is a great location!

Guestbook comments from the owner

In the summer of 2006 we will be adding two docks and a boat lift as well as a new seawall!!!

Loved our time in this fab home. It was peaceful and relaxing. Everything you could want for a great holiday and we cannot wait to get back. Everything was perfect. The owner was fantastic and couldn't do enough to help. Lovely neighbours. The local yellow cabs 9417432100 were great as were Charlotte transit both companies made getting around very easy.

Loved loved loved our time in this lovely home

Private, spacious and comfortable with a lovely view!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I returned to "Blue Waters" for the month of April, having enjoyed a 2 week stay a few years back. There is much to love about this home: the feeling of understated luxury and peacefulness that pervades, the many features and conveniences that enrich your stay, and the sense of seclusion. The large property is located on the end of a cul-de-sac with a pie shaped lot and lots of waterfront, and a wide view of a large canal intersection that feels like a lake. It is a quiet neighbourhood and feels very private, even the pool/patio area overlooking the water. Don't be deceived by the street view. From the curb this appears to be a sturdy yet basic bungalow - Step inside and experience the hidden gem. The open concept living area, upgraded kitchen, deluxe furnishings and Florida/Island designer style creates a perfect home-away-from-home ambience. One of the reasons we love this house is the fabulously equipped kitchen. Good quality tools for prep, cooking and serving in style. This home operates on a "pay it forward" principal whereby the occupants and housekeepers leave the staples for the next person. Guests top up the inventory as needed, as you normally would at home when you run out of something. A very economical arrangement. Take a half hour to review kitchen contents when you arrive. The inventory of seasonings and staples was impressive both times we arrived.

If rest and sleep are important to you, this home will not disappoint. The beds and bedding are top quality, "super comfy" as promised. We slept late every day, and spent a lot of time relaxing on the wonderful teak lounges beside the pool. There are 3 additional outdoor areas for lounging in sun and shade. The rustling of the wind in the palm trees might put you to sleep so beware getting sunburn!

Our daughter, son-in law and 2 grandsons (aged 3 and 5) joined us for 10 days. Amazingly, the relaxation continued. The adults swam, lounged and played board games while watching over the boys playing in the pool. The pool is in a secure lanai enclosure, and wonderfully shaded in the morning and late afternoon. There were lots of indoor amusements as well. We did several great day trips. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. All in all an awesome experience. We hated to leave!

This place deserves 6 stars!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I just completed three wonderful weeks in this outstanding property. While, as others have said, the front is not spectacular, the inside and back area is unbelievable. We had a stunning view of the junction of two canals, looking West so all the sunsets were over the water. The kitchen and bathrooms have all been re-done in the very recent past and are great.

When you add in the heated pool, hot tub, covered lanai, DIRECTV with DVR, DVD, stereo, wireless internet, brand new 5 burner grill, and all the pool/beach tools and toys you can think of this adds up to the best equipped and most comfortable rental we have had in our lives (and we are retired and have lots of properties to compare this to!)

The icing on the cake is the response, follow-up and courtesy of Felicia and Doug. If you have a problem it will be corrected at once or iIf you have a question it is answered at once.

Bottom line is we wish we could return here every year, but sadly we only got in due to a cancellation and the main winter season is taken year after year by the same people. No question is our mind that is a great move on their parts! This place deserves 6 stars!

amazing getaway

  • 5 of 5

my boyfriend and I are in our late twenties and spent a romantic getaway week for my birthday here. We absolutely loved it. Remodeled, spacious and clean. The house was fully equipped with every last detail from bikes, kayaks, pool table etc. We grilled out every night and ate dinner under the stars. The fire pit and jacuzzi were great at night. The town is adorable as well but we are from busy south Florida and preferred watching all the movies or playing the board games that were available. Can't wait to go back with my mom. Amazing house with amazing hosts. Thank you!!! I would recommend this spot to any of my family or friends.

Great Location, bird life and fishing

  • 4 of 5

The house is not the prettiest we have rented in South West Florida, nor is it the biggest (the bathrooms are tiny) and if you want a place that is light & airy this is not the one for you! But, what it lacks in looks and size is more than compensated for by its benefits.

The master bed, (the only one we used), is very comfortable; ditto the lounge furniture. The wide screen TV and the good quality outdoor furniture were also a plus. The recently refitted kitchen was the best equipped of any of the several villas we have rented in Florida. The pool and hot tub are very well maintained and the new pool heating was excellent.

The real benefit of this house, for us, was its location and the views from the pool and lanai. The wide grassed areas and sloping bank into the canal attracted many kinds of birds and almost every day we watched osprey fishing from the pine tree in the garden. Manatees came very close to the house on two separate days and we also had a visit from a pair of bald eagles. The fishing from the dock was the best of any house we have been to before; so good I never went anywhere else to fish.

The house is handy for many of the attractions in this part of Florida. We particularly liked the vintage car museum in Punta Gorda. (Dozens of muscle cars from the 60's and 70's).

The bikes and canoe were an added bonus. We would rent this house again.
