About the property

The closest holiday rental to Pwllheli Marina

This traditional 1830's Welsh cottage is located opposite the award winning Pwllheli Hafan Marina and a short stroll to the stunning 3 mile long Abererch beach. The cottage has been recently renovated throughout, offering comfortable accomodation which will suit seaside holidaymakers, sailing enthusiasts, golfers and walkers.

Pwllheli town centre is a short walk away, with a choice of shops, pubs and restaurants. There is a major supermarket less that half a mile away and Pwllheli Sailing Club is a short stroll across the marina.

The cottage has an enclosed sunny rear patio area with table and chairs, and a large high level decked area with a further table, set of chairs and sun loungers. The second high level decking area has lovely views to the marina and to the Mid Wales mountains.

The accommodation consists of an open plan lounge with light oak beamed ceiling, inglenook fireplace and a gas stove. There is one quality leather2 seater settee, two tub chairs, and flat screen colour television with both Freeview and Freesat, and a DVD player.

The kitchen is modern and light with a Belfast sink, microwave, gas hob, electric oven, fridge with freezer compartment, and an electric toaster.

The first floor has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other having two single beds.

The bathroom has both a shower and bath. The cottage also has gas central heating throughout, which is included in the price.

Please note - the upper decked area is accessed by steep steps with a hand rail, but would be unsuitable for the elderly, very young or infirm and are to be used entirely at the holidaymaker's own risk.

Fresh laundered duvet covers, sheets and pillows/cases provided, (please bring own towels) Travel cot and high chair available by advance request.

The cottage has new mattresses, lounge furniture, outdoor dining furniture and loungers for 2017 season.

WiFi is also available and included in the price for 2017.

This is our part time home and we personally clean and maintain the cottage after each guest, to ensure that the accommodation is in perfect condition and of the highest standard for our new guests.

***Weekend/short breaks from Friday to Sunday are available by request, between between October and March, however we cannot provide weekend or short breaks during the Spring/Summer season***

About Mark J

I am a small business owner who has spent a considerable amount of time in the Llyn Peninsula area. Although I am not of Welsh descent (my Wife is) I support the protection of the Welsh language and way of life. I am actively learning the Welsh language and there is a Welsh phrasebook in our cottage.

Mark J purchased this cottage in 2008

Why Mark J chose Pwllheli

The cottage is ideally situated on the edge of Pwllheli, within an easy walk of the marina. In fact, this is the closest available holiday accommodation to Pwllheli Sailing Club, which is one of our favourite haunts.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is within an easy walk of Pwllheli town centre so a car is not necessary. Local shops and supermarkets are also a short distance away. The greater Snowdonia area is to the East, and can be reached by car, rail or bus.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a lovely time at the cottage, what a great place and handy for walking into Pwllheli. The beach wasn't far away either. Ideal for exploring Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula.

Perfect bolt hole for a holiday full of activity by the sea

  • 4 of 5

Cosy little cottage in great condition.

Everything we needed, close to the town and the marina, the mountains and the sea.

Lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a fab stay here, 2 adults and 2 children. The cottage is in a great location and parking was easy on the road outside. The terrace at the back has a wonderful view, but the owner does warn about the access with very steep steps, so we were just extra careful with young children, but still enjoyed an evening meal together. Also had great communication with the host, Mark, he answered any questions and the cottage booklet had lots of useful information. Great value too. Thanks for having us! Amber

Cottage only 5 mins. from Plas Heli and my sailing championship.

  • 4 of 5

Unloaded car outside cottage, then parked at Plas Heli as convenient for sailing championship. Cottage suited us fine, though we didn't spend much time there during the day. A bit noisy in bedroom at night due to traffic: shut window to reduce noise and room gets too hot.

Beautiful Cottage - Lovely Pwllheli

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful cottage, really nicely updated and well maintained. Well equipped apart from the lack of wardrobes which was a slight annoyance. We found the location gave us access to the beaches, marina and town all within easy walking distance and access to Snowdonia was around 20 to 30 minutes drive which was ideal for us. We weren't very happy with the closeness to the road and the resultant road noise but the overall loveliness of the cottage and location made up for that. Thanks go to the owner as we did enjoy your cottage.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your comments on our cottage and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. We hope you visit us again soon. I was in Pwllheli too, on the Easter Bank Holiday and found the town busier than usual after a long winter which could account for the increase in traffic.

Beautiful accommodation that fulfilled all our needs

  • 5 of 5

I originally booked the cottage due to the close proximity to the sailing club but was really pleased with the layout, facilities and cleanliness of the cottage.
