A wonderful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at Hunters' Lodge. I don't think the pictures do it justice. It's very thoughtfully equipped and the beds are super comfy and there are delightful skylights giving you mountain views from the shower or the landing. The location is great, on the shores of the stunning Loch Linnhe. We had easy access to Glencoe, Oban and Fort William with some amazing walks. You need a car, but the Holly Tree hotel is only a half hour walk away. Don't let that put you off, the walk there is beautiful along the edge of the Loch. The food there is excellent and we had an unexpected bonus in that we were offered free use of their pool and sauna after eating dinner there. So, after a great walk along the West Highland Way, we stretched out in the pool and sauna. We experience good communication from the owner of the lodge and any small problems were addressed immediately. We would thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay. A visitor pack for the house would be helpful e.g. what day is bin day, where to recycle, walks from the lodge

Amazing peaceful haven

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Hunters Lodge last week. The lodge is fantastic and has everything needed for a full week's stay. The bed is really comfortable and when you open the blinds in the morning you can sit in bed with a cuppa and watch the fishing boats go past. The HD SMART TV and Now TV was a brilliant addition. We were able to watch a different movie every evening. The sofa's are not comfortable and needed daily "sorting", however we managed. The BOSE wireless speaker is a nice touch and we blue toothed music from our phone. The photographs do not do the lodge justice as it is large and has a separate dining room and table for 6. We had dinner at several differnt hotels and pubs in Glencoe. The best was Glencoe Gathering for fish and chips - the best we have ever eaten. The Loch Leven Hotel has an open fire and an extensive gin collection and the food was good. Special mention to the Clachaig Inn which was yummy. The Holly Tree Hotel was ok and we walked there and had a light lunch. The Ballachulish Hotel was fully booked the entire week so we only had a drink in the bar. We skied at Glencoe for half a day, however the snow was poor but the mountain restaurant was well worth the visit. We managed half a days skiing at the Nevis Range but the mountain was closed due to high winds. Nevis Sport in Fort William does a lovely cake and cuppa after a cold days skiing. We did several local walks in the area using Highland Walks. We cannot wait to return next year. The absolute quiet, privacy, scenery and facilities offered are the best we have had while holidaying in the UK. Much thanks and see you next year.

Beautiful lodge and views

  • 5 of 5

Such a lovely cottage in a wonderful setting, everything was so homely inside and so well organised. All immaculately clean and tidy! We were greeted on arrival by Tim who showed us around the property and explained how everything worked. Gorgeous views and wonderful grounds which the lodge is set in, including the back garden. There was great local food seemingly in every restaurant. In particular the Glencoe cafe for brekfast and the holly tree in Appin for a wonderful romantic dinner. Would definetely recommend this property as a place to stay, we even tooo decor ideas for our own property! ☺

Pure bliss

  • 5 of 5

We were originally booked to stay at the smaller property on this site, but due to a last minute issue, the owner offered us the lodge.

Whilst the smaller property looked very nice, the lodge was absolutely beautiful and finished to a very high standard. Both myself and partner had a fantastic week and loved every minute at the lodge. Beautiful views, great location and amazing property. Wish we could have moved in permanently and would jump at the chance of a return visit.

Everything about the location for perfect for us to relax and enjoy. There are lovely walks around the location and views that are beautiful around the property.

The property itself is gorgeous and is very homely and comfortable. A credit to its owners.
