The views from this cottage are breathtaking.
Lying in bed and looking out at the ocean is like looking at an ever changing oil painting.
Set in one of the most unspoilt corners of Cornwall it is surrounded by history.
It is a place where you feel how much stronger nature is then man.
At night the stars shine bright, by day the bird life fills the skies.
It is truly one of the most magical and energetically restorative places I have ever experienced.
We had a wonderful time in this beautiful cottage overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the historical Geevor Tin Mine site. Perfectly positioned to explore the beauty of the Penwith coast and its many coastal path walks and surrounding historical towns and villages - and of course the incredible Minack Theatre. We enjoyed good pub food in many of the local pubs.
The AGA was the most amazing and comforting part of the cottage. So wonderful to come down to its warmth every morning and again at the end of the day - virtually instant boiling the kettle!
Our only hesitation in giving this near perfect cottage 5 stars is that as international travellers it is not convenient to have to bring our own towels. I would recommend this cottage to my family and friends in Australia who love to travel - but I know this one small thing would be a big negative.
Helen is easy to communicate with and the cottage was exactly as described - we did come equipped with towels!
Would definitely love to revisit sometime in the future.
Perfect to relax. Atlantic ocean, South West Coast Path, remains of early industrialism, local pub, lighthouse etc. in easy walking distance.
A cottage as you imagine it. It is well equipped. And on top: the warmth of the AGA-oven is marvellous.
My stay was a pleasant one, with the weather varying from very hot to cool and stormy, with some of the Atlantic sea mists that are a feature of this coastline. The cottage was clean and felt well maintained, always welcoming, with the Aga in the kitchen always ready to boil a kettle for a cuppa in minutes after a walk along the cliffs. The bedroom is wonderful as it is possible to sit in bed and drink tea and watch the ocean, and waking up to the view is the best way of de-stressing that I have ever known.. The sun-trap patio was ideal for sitting out on the hottest days and really secluded. I arrived feeling tired and in need of a break, and left feeling refreshed and invigorated, and wanting to come back soon. Penny Farthing Cottage is well recommended for anyone wanting to re-charge their batteries and relax but have everything at hand, Pendeen is the ideal base for travelling around West Penwith and steeped in history, with Minack and Lands End and St Michaels Mount and Penzance all in a short drive. The owner was very prompt in answering any questions and has a genuine interest in ensuring that any visit is a successful and pleasant one.
The property was perfectly positioned to see the Atlantic with easy access from the main road to St Just. The house was very clean and decorated to a high but still very cosy standard and very affordable. Very comfy bed and fantastic kitchen with Aga. Parking is ideal and the enclosed private patio garden is lovely on a warm day or evening. Overall this made our holiday very enjoyable and we look forward to returning.
Lovely cottage great views comfy bed will definitely be back. Great place for walks.
In an area of outstanding natural beauty you’ll find beaches that stretch into the distance, gardens to visit crammed full of exotic plants and many meandering creek walks. Lazy sunbathing, superb walking and much surfing to be had. Pennyfarthing Cottage is an ideal base for exploring the delights of Cornwall.
Walk from the cottage directly down this path to join the coastal path with stunning views and the historic relics of Geevor Mine.
