About Jeremy Chamberlain

We are thrilled to own this home Jeremy himself lived in as a small child. His father also grew up in the home, one of eight children of Cornell and Sylvia Chamberlain. It has been a journey to renovate the home, a fond process of discovery. It is indeed a special place to call home. This 'Homeplace' has brought over-flowing joy to so many that we love! We are delighted to share that joy with you.

Jeremy Chamberlain purchased this house in 2009

Why Jeremy Chamberlain chose Utah

The location is one of the most beautiful on earth! The charm associated with a home that is over a hundred years old is incredible. The two of these features combined made the purchase of this home irresistable.

Weekend with family

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the Homestead. The home has a lot of personality that made if fun for the entire family. We were close to Zion's National Park and other attractions in the area. It was great for us to get away and enjoy nature.

Wonderful October Stay

  • 4 of 5

Betty's place was completely as advertised. A restored 100+ year old home with all the accompanying 'charm'. It worked well for us four adults and still had room. It was extremely convenient to the Parks and was great to return to at the end of the day for relaxation. Very much appreciated.

Lovely place for a vacation getaway in a rustic setting

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 2 nights and we absolutely loved this home. It was cozy and historic and it transported us back in time. We're city dwellers and this home was perfect for unwinding ourselves. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were nice with lots of pillows and comforters. The living room was lovely and was perfect for relaxing.

But the best part of this property was the outside with a furnished porch and the idyllic setting itself.

We met the owner and she came across as a kind and warm person. She made sure we enjoyed our stay.

A few minor nitpicks:

1) We didn't have hot water on day 2 of our stay in any of the bathrooms. We somehow managed without it.

2) The stair case lights did not work and we had to use our smart phones to go upstairs and turn on bedroom lights.

3) The bath rooms did not have a towel drying rack and a fan.

Regards,

Kris

Great country home

  • 5 of 5

The country location and historic house added to our enjoyment. Great location for our family reunion close to Bryce and Zion. Without cell service we were able to "get away" from everyday demands but messaging through the internet let us stay in touch as needed.

One suggestion for improvement - leave one cupboard completely empty for guests to put their own food and anything that brought with them. So much easier to find when leaving.

Overall - OK

  • 3 of 5

Oversold- it's an older home and floors are tilted, needed work- broken mirror in bathroom, difficult stairs for 3rd bedroom upstairs, washer and dryer not working, cleaning fee not justified, close neighbors, road noise until late at night.

Good things, canoe and pond, location was very good for access to Bryce and Zion parks. Be sure to print out instructions beforehand because no cell or internet access within miles except INSIDE house. Decent restaurants and grocery stores were far away except that nice Germsn Bakery cafe close- but closes at 6pm.

Even with all, enjoyed the stay.

Owner's Response: The listing description is accurate. This home is a historic farmhouse on three acres, original structure dates to 1890. When renovating, we kept the structure true to form with all its uniqueness, the floors slant a bit, the staircase is small. What you can expect are the comforts of home along with an old-time feel. This home is not in a tourist location, if you are looking for restaurants and stores closer than 5-10 miles, this is not the atmosphere you seek. The highly recommended German Bakery and closest grocery store are 5 miles south in Orderville. I assure potential renters that this home is not oversold. It is priced less than two local hotel rooms, but you get oh-so-much-more! I'm pleased to report the cleaning fee is well below market average. The washer and dryer are new and work fabulous! We try to remedy immediately, apologies that sometimes 7-10 business days is legitimate. Rest assured any unforeseen inconveniences will be credited back to you. We love that the majority of our guests find this home to meet their needs and expectations, consider additional reviews.

GREAT LOCATION

  • 4 of 5

Two families (8 total people) stayed with plenty of room. Outside was fun for the kids, especially the basketball hoop and fire pit. Kids all enjoyed a little canoeing. House was clean and kitchen was good. Great location for trips to Bryce and Zion as well as Bryan Head. Roku TV was great. Internet was fast.

On areas to improve. Lake was overwhelmed by plant growth making it hard to paddle. Needed two good oars, had one good one and one broken one. Fix the paddle boat. Need a pump for all the balls. Most were flat.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the kind review. We took your advice and The Homeplace now has it own ball pump. We investigated and found the missing oars, glad you enjoy the canoe anyway.
