About the property

This cottage enjoys a fantastic location within walking distance of village amenities including a village shop and welcoming pub. Its proximity to the Cornwall/Devon border means that visitors can make the most of the huge array of attractions offered by both counties. Dartmoor with its miles of scenic walks is within a thirty-minute drive to the east whilst to the west the Cornish Atlantic coast offers sandy beaches such as those at Crackington Haven pretty harbour towns such as Boscastle and the historic site of Tintagel home to the legendary King Arthur. A little further afield within an hour s drive there is plenty more to see and do including the Launceston Steam Railway the attractive fishing village of Looe and The Eden Project. Fishing sailing and walking can be found at the nearby Roadford Lake and Tamar Lakes. This cottage offers guests a glimpse of life in a traditional cottage whilst still offering modern creature comforts. The main living space is a cosy lounge with exposed beams a sunny window seat and a huge inglenook fireplace which now houses a warming wood burner-effect electric fire. There are also comfortable sofas and a TV/DVD. The kitchen/diner has the same cosy atmosphere as the lounge with its beamed ceiling and farmhouse-style kitchen units. There is a kitchen table which comfortable seats four as well as an oven hob fridge with ice compartment washing machine and a microwave. The bathroom is located on the ground-floor and offers a shower-over-bath and WC. Steep cottage-style stairs lead to the first-floor accommodation where there are three bedrooms. The first of these is a double room with an en-suite shower and WC. A twin room has been prettily styled with wooden floorboards and a feature fireplace and finally there is a lovely single room with views over the village green. Guests should be aware that due to the style and age of the cottage there is some reduced head-height in the bedrooms due to the sloping ceilings. Outside there is a delightful enclosed patio area to the front of the property with a picnic-style table and benches. There is roadside parking just in front of the property.
