'S'hort den Pep de Barcares' is a luxurious modern villa just 150 metres from the sea. Finca S'hort Den Pep De Barcares is in the exclusive residential area of Barcares, just around the bay from Puerto Pollença and a short walk from Alcudia Old Town. It's a contemporary air-conditioned house with wonderful gardens and a fantastic pool and terrace.
Inside, the house is full of light and sunny space with hotel-style design and luxury in every room. It's also largely accessible to wheelchairs - with a lovely double bedroom and walk-in shower bathroom on the ground floor.
The main living space is hugely impressive with floor-to-ceiling windows along one wall, oversize sofas, a flat-screen plasma TV and stereo system with extra speakers on the terrace, and a dining table for 10 persons. The glamour, luxury and space continues in the gardens - with a long swimming pool surrounded by teak decking and cooled by sea breezes. There are lawns too and fruit trees, a barbecue and a table-tennis table.
The covered terrace is a fabulous space with funky cane sofas and dining chairs around a long table, and all shaded by a retractable awning. The gardens are very family-friendly and the swimming pool area is very private with open views across fields and trees to the mountain of La Victoria. Next to the swimming pool we will find the hot tub for 8 people

The owner /manager was easy to deal with, I particularly liked paying 10% deposit and the balance on arrival as this goes someway to allaying fears about scams etc. I need not have worried as Tolo and Roberto are genuine guys and eager to help. I was even asked if I needed a day or so to visit the bank and arrange the payment of the balance, so a very helpful and flexible approach from the villa manager/owner.
The villa is in a great position within walking distance of the old town where there are many restaurants, also you can walk to a local beach. There are many other beaches just a short drive away and parking was never a problem.
The villa is modern with a great pool which is quite deep so maybe extra care is needed with young children who aren't happy when they can't reach the bottom although our 3 year old granddaughter was very happy swimming about with armbands but more nervous kids might have a problem.
I think the villa has had some alterations recently as at the time we booked the photos may have been a bit outdated but they still give a good indication of what to expect, although the lounge did not have such a smart appearance as the photos suggest. The villa is secluded with nice views of the mountains, once in the villa you could be miles from anywhere as the outlook is so good.
We didn't use the basement with pool table and weights etc apart from using the washing machine. The severe storm on arrival had partially flooded the basement and although it dried out quickly it was still very musty and will probably stay that way as it never gets aired. The weather after the storm was great and we had really good family holiday. Tolo/Roberto swiftly dealt with a couple of issues so I am citied the in recommending this villa.

'S'hort Den Pep De Barcares' is a wonderful house by the sea ideal for large groups, just 150 meters from the sea and golden sandy beach of Platja d'en Bennassar's Corral, with beach Barcares also close and the Old Town of Alcdia just 400 meters away.
The name of the town of Alcudia combines the Arabic and Roman footprint. Located near the Serra de Tramuntana, Alcdia has his back to the rural Majorca, feet the waters of two bays, the north of Pollena and Alcúdia east.
Alcudia is housed in the heart of this area of contrasts, between the stone wall of the Serra and the sandy coves of the Bay of Alcudia between the north wind, the sea and inland.
Alcudia boasts an important historical heritage and the essence of Mediterranean life, where everything happens slowly, where everything is savored and enjoyed. Within its medieval walls (which began to be built in 1300) is Sa Plaza: the meeting place of the "alcudiencs" place of passage, the meeting point. All around are bars, restaurants and terraces to enjoy the best cuisine of the island.
In either direction from the square winding streets in several directions lead you to beautiful monuments like the gates of Xara and Sant Sebastia, the Church of Sant Jaume, opposite which lies the city of Rome Pollentia and a little beyond the Roman theater, a 'rara avis' because instead of being built, is dug into the rock.
A row of orange mark the route of the main streets, the Carrer del Moll and Main Street. These streets are home to small jewelery shops, shoe stores, clothing stores, bars, restaurants ... Many of these establishments are housed in large houses built centuries ago, small and peaceful squares.
Alcúdia is one of those places worth lost in its streets to discover around every corner a new place with charm, a new feel.
Every Tuesday and Sunday morning, the pace of the city is accelerated with the market. Farmers, traders, artisans and artists paint color the villa and bustle of the people around you feel inside and outside the medieval walls.
Also just 2 kilometers away from the house there Port d'Alcudia: a small fishing port, which today has become a popular place for people who enjoy life at the beach.
The boardwalk has won several competitions in architecture and urbanism and is the perfect place to walk with its fragrant aroma and pleasant breeze, between "llaüts" traditional fishing boats setting, and the modern marina Alcudiamar.
On the other hand, there also find the best fish restaurants, ice cream parlors and clothing stores. And facing the beach, kilometers of fine sand that draws the Bay of Alcudia with its crystal clear turquoise waters. It is the most popular beach, with all services: bars, boat rental and sailing courses and a water park.
But this beach, the longest in Mallorca (10 km), is not alone. Nearby you will find nearly twenty: sand, pebble, rock, accessible only by sea songs. Among the intimate beaches stands Alcanada, or the S'Illot Coll Baix. The latter is a true marvel of nature that is only accessible by boat or after a pleasant outing among pine trees and rocks.
Precisely from the Coll Baix begin some very interesting excursions for lovers of trekking and nature as it rises to Sa Talaia, old watchtower at the highest point of the town. From above we see two bays, the Serra, Alcúdia, the Pla de Mallorca and when the day is clear, the coast of Menorca.
But if there is an unmissable event for lovers of nature, is S'Albufereta and S'Albufera, two of the largest wetlands, relevant ecological value of the Balearic Islands, with important animal and plant species.
Aucanada Golf Course is also just 5 kilometers away from the property. It is one of the leading golf courses in Mallorca with 18 holes and spectacular views.
