About Mr and Mrs Wild
My family and I have stayed at other chalets on Sandown Bay and love it so much that when we had the opportunity to buy a chalet we jumped at it. We have been regular visitors to the island and love it and hope you will also.
Mr and Mrs Wild purchased this Chalet in 2014
Why Mr and Mrs Wild chose Sandown
We picked this chalet because of the beautiful location overlooking Culver Down, and a short walk brings you to the cliffs and sea

Had a wonderful week’s stay in this cosy little chalet. Had everything we needed, and a perfect base for exploring the rest of the island.
Lovely clean chalet - a home from home!
It was a bit of a risk making this booking - we'd never stayed in a chalet before (always opting for quite new caravans) and I'm allergic to dogs (didn't spot that dogs were allowed when booking) but i needn't have worried on either count!
This chalet is lovely, cleaned and maintained by the owners. You can definitely tell they take pride in their little holiday home and have worked hard to make it as homely and welcoming as possible. There was no trace of dog hair or dog scent and the chalet was well furnished inside. The big plus over a caravan was a proper cooker and a good range of cooking utensils - we were able to cook real meals here rather than waiting for an hour for a tiny oven to warm up like you would in a caravan. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of towels, some toiletries and basics like loo roll provided too. There was also a great little welcome basket with crisps, wine, chocolates and biscuits - as well as the kitchen being stocked with a few bits like teabags and salt and vinegar. There were also thoughtful touches like an umbrella, a windbreak, buckets and spades, a food mixer as well as the usual toaster and microwave, a picnic set.....the list goes on! They've even put together a little folder with info on the local area in it.
The location is great - there is a great view of the hills out of the door, but a few minutes walk in one direction has you down on a lovely quiet beach - or walk in the other direction and you're at IoW Zoo within 5 or 10 minutes......or keep on walking like we did and you will find yourself in Shanklin!
The site itself has no facilities like a club or a laundrette (the buildings are there but boarded up) but that suited us fine - we're not bothered about stuff like that and there was plenty of open space for the kids to play safely outside.
Overall we were incredibly happy with our holiday here and would definitely recommend the chalet to anyone. When we come back to the Isle of Wight this will definitely be our first choice of place to stay.
A short walk of 100 metres and you are in open countryside, and after 300 meres and you are by the the sea, with wonderful views. Head south and after a further 500 metres you have reached the IOW's only zoo which is adjacent to a large Dinosaur museum. Head north from chalet and after just ove 1000 metres of bracing cliff top walk, you are come to a pub and restaurant high on Culver Down. The cliffs by Yaverland beach are famous for their Jurassic fossils and Blue Flag beaches. They are remote enough to only attract the occasional dog walker. Nearby Sandown and Shanklin are the IOW's tourist hotspots with cafes shops and seaside entertainments.
