Recently renovated (2014/2015)mid terraced property situated in the small harbour town of Amble within walking distance of a sandy beach and the regenerated new pier and delightful marina, set on the banks of the River Coquet in the beautiful unspoilt Northumberland Countryside. Boats trips are available from Amble harbour for either fishing trips or to cruise around Coquet Island, a RSPB bird reserve home to a large colony of seabirds, including one of the rarest nesting Roseate Terns and thousands of puffins who occupy the main part of the Island. There are several nature reserves nearby including Hauxley and Druridge Bay, where you will also find one of the most impressive stretches of beach three miles south of Amble. The picturesque village of Warkworth lies in the loop of the River Coquet and is dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The bustling town of Alnwick, with its famous castle and gardens is within easy reach, as is the rest of Northumberland's stunning heritage coastline. Sailing, canoeing, sea and fresh water angling, golf, walking and cycling available locally.

Services - Electricity and gas CH included. Flat screen TV with Freeview. DVD. CD radio. Electric oven and hob. Microwave. Fridge/freezer. Washing machine. Roadside parking. Shops/PO/pubs/restaurants/TIC in Amble. Duvets with linen and towels. Dogs welcome with well behaved owners - £15 per dog. No smoking in cottage please.

My name is Michael Arries and my partner is Deanne Brown we've been together a wee while now, we, bought Cuddy Cottage in 2014, it was a total wreck and a very sad old house, and dating back over 120yrs.

Now with a litle tlc and a hefty budget we've brought this old fella back to life, everyone has commented on how happy this house looks now.

An impressively well renovated terrace house, comfortable, warm , draught-free, and well located

The website photos fail to do this property justice: we felt comfortably at home straight away, thanks to thoughtful touches provided by the owners. The house is clean and well maintained, close to shops, harbour and beach, and a great starting point for trips to the surrounding coast and countryside. We have just spent Christmas there, in wonderful peace and quiet, sunny days (if cold) and away from the crowds. Amble is probably much livelier in summer! In terms of value for money, it would be hard to beat this property.

Clean, well decorated with lots of homely touches

A lovely house to stay in as a base to explore the Northumberland area. Very clean and recently decorated with everything needed if cooking in and close enough to shops and restaurants if eating out. Milk and choc treats were waiting for us and also a treat for the dog which was very welcome. Would certainly recommend and would also stay again if ever in the area again.

Spotless everything we needed was provided

Cuddly cottage was spotless and very comfortable .Good place to use as a base. Amble itself is working hard to regenerate and there are lovely places to eat including the old boat house and an excellent Indian at the top of the high street.

Perfect!

We loved the cottage and like the other reviews online and in the visitor's book have only positive things to say. The booking was simple and prior to arrival the contact from owner Michael was really helpful. The cottage was pristine and literally had everything you could need. Amble is a really pretty little place and despite the disappointing weather we loved exploring the area. We had a fantastic week visiting lots of places in Northumberland and returning back to Cuddy Cottage each evening was the icing on the cake. The children rate the holiday as their best yet and we will definitely return. We have recommended both Northumberland and Cuddy Cottage to friends and family and look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

Great house, brilliant location

Cuddly Cottage was a lovely house. Everything you need for a short break is included and the property is spotlessly clean.

The location is great too-it's a pretty easy drive to drive to Newcastle or Gateshead but locally, there's a beach and a harbour just a couple of streets away.
