Location
-Cottage is in the centre of Eastern Ontario Trails Alliance, which has well-mapped routes for ATVs, dirt bikes, snowmobiles, mountain bikes, cross-country skiers; trails are nearby, and extensive
-Take out/variety 5 min down the road "Rock Cliff"
-Standard LCBO offerings and more extensive variety with baking 10 min down the road "Trudy's Place"
-Stunning "Group of Seven" look-alike Weslemkoon Lake, much of which is public land, is a 20 min drive West. There is a boat launch right at the end of WLRd at Four Loons Marina.
-Heritage Site O'Hara's Mill is well worth a visit, 30 km away, near Madoc and is especially good when all buildings are open to the public
-Beaches: Small beach at Gunter Lake, a five min. drive away. Small beach at L'Amable, with a dock and a dam. Wonderful underpopulated beach at Papineau Lake, with lots of sand and a very lengthy wade-in. Up for a drive? Go to the Sandbanks Provincial Park, where the film Dieppe was shot. Good wine country there, too.
