Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Bagheria

The apartment has been recently renovated and newly furnished with all the amenities you need for a pleasant stay. A large bedroom and a comfortable couch in the bright living room overlooking the sunny terrace. Another small bedroom with a single bed. Bathroom with shower enclosure.

How to get to Aspra - Bagheria: Fly to Palermo- Punta Raisi airport; Aspra is just 40km and 40 min drive far from the airport. Cheap flights are available from Ryan Air from London Stanstead to Palermo. If you decide to hire a car, visit sbc (ask us for link) a local car hire company which allows good fares, in this case I'll send you a map and detailed information to reach easily the house. The quickest and cheapest way to get to Aspra Bagheria is by catching the train at the airport; it will take you at Palermo Centrale station in 40 min then change wagon; there are plenty trains leading to Bagheria in 10 min. Otherwise I can arrange your transfer from / to the Palermo airport ,or from / to the Trapani airport.

Local tradition: In September a traditional Festa takes place, with boat races, aquatic games and the mystic procession of Madonna statue, carried on the boat and followed by the fisherman families in their own boats. Daily fair and a fantastic fireworks display performed on the sea platform at the end of the celebration.

Italy is our beloved foreign country. We have visited Italy at least 10 times. This year we decided to see Sicily. And what a great decision! We got so lucky to rent a place in Aspra,Bagheria. What a nice people live there.Alessandro,Franko,Rosalba offered a nice penthouse to accommodate me,my wife and adult daughter.Nice terrace with a sea view.It is practically by the sea side.In the morning you can get fresh baked bread and buy fresh sea food offered in the fish market and variety of fresh and tasty fruits and vegetables. We also witnessed a whole week of festivities dedicated to their patron Saint. That was an extra! We had a blast with the place, the people, the food and the sea.And no tourists...Some Italian is a must.We will definitely go back there some day.Thank you for giving us a very special holiday!!!!!

Fantastic time had by all the family.

  • 5 of 5

We are Two Adults, an 11 year old girl and a 5 year old boy, and we all had a lovely two week holiday.

A big thank you to Franco who picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, as well as making sure we had everything we needed, and went out of his way to make us feel really welcome.

Warm sea 1 min walk from apartment, as well as many places to buy food eat out or have a drink.

Spent many hours on the terrace having meals with the family and watching the world go by beneath. Very friendly town in which we were the only English for two weeks and a phrase book is a must at least.

Lovely evening walk when the whole town is out at night, if you want ‘real’ Sicily I think you won’t be disappointed.

We were all very sad to go home. Nic, Becky, Cara & Kit

This place is amazing!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a week and had the most amazing holiday.

The apartment is perfectly located near everything you could need and is very comfortable. Aspra is a lovely little village and the local people were very friendly and welcoming. The local fresh food was fantastic, with fresh fish for sale direct from the fishermen each morning, fresh fruit and vegetables from local gardeners and a small but well stocked supermarket just around the corner that has great cheeses! We also highly recommend the outdoor bar just up the road with a very friendly owner, Giovanni.

The apartment owner, Alessandro and his family were incredibly welcoming and helpful, picking us up from the airport and taking us on a tour of Palermo .

We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone considering a stay in Aspra and would love to go back again in the future.

Thankyou so much for the opportunity to stay there Alessandro!

What a relax

  • 5 of 5

What a find and what total relax. Aspra really is how it was described- relaxing, friendly and a joy to explore. Alex was really helpful and the flat was very clean and had all that we needed. Lovely to be able to eat out on the terrace all the time and just watch and listen to life!. We didnt have a car and just walked to the train station in Bagheria to travel to places. Monreale and Palermo were real favourites for us and Cefalu was Ok but far more touristy. Many thanks Alex and hope the wedding goes Ok. Remember we'd love to see you in England!

an excellent place to stay !

  • 5 of 5

We chose Aspra as we wanted to avoid crowdy places and to live among sicilian people. We won't have been deceived, more we do love this place, this quarter and all the people accepting us very friendly. What a pleasure to go to the baker, the butcher, to buy local fruits and vegetables or cheeses and salami even if you don't speak italian and the sellers no word of french or english !

The appartment was better than described. It's very clean, well equiped, with taste and we really feel at home. No need to bring a hair-dryer or ironing stuff and the washing-machine works very well. During our stay, the weather was hot but the AC works very well. The terrasse is a must for romantic diner as there is a nice view on Palermo Gulf and beautiful sunset.

To be honnest, we are used to travel a lot around the world and to rent lodging 2 or 3 times a year and this appart will remain among the best ones for thre price and Alessandro has been more than perfect. You can count on him for help or advice and it's very pleasant. We can't imagine not coming back to Aspra one day and for sure in this charming appartment. Apart from famous places to visit as Palermo, Agrigento, Selunte... don't hesitate to swim on the little beach at Aspra (clean water) and pay a visit to the little fishing ports at the east of Aspra, you will love them !

A Great Find

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is the ideal base for a stay in Sicily for those who want to avoid the busy resorts.

This is easily the cleanest apartment we have ever stayed in and there was nothing we lacked. Air conditioning is essential in Sicily and this was very good. Alessandro looked after us perfectly and was very informative about what to find locally and where is best to explore.

This is a third floor apartment so 60 stairs may be too much for the elderly.

Aspra provides an ideal base for driving to anywhere on the island. The main roads are within easy reach. A day trip out to Agrigento (1.5 - 2 hours each way) is well worth while and on your return you will have the sea to cool off in just a minute's walk from your front door. The beach here was never as crowded as others we visited and has handy bars and gelateria for refreshment. The sea is calm and very safe.

We had a great time.
