Paris stopover
Loved our time in Paris but very disappointed at the lack of cleanliness for the beautiful apartment.
Linen in cupboard appeared to be washed but screwed up in cupboard, a wet load of towels left to be hung up and another load left in the machine by host.
Prime location walking distance to Arch de Triumph, close to Argintine and Maillot underground which takes you to the tourism area with aquarium, gardens, river and tour boats, and Either Tower
Don't need to book these tours from your home town, there are so many and best to book on site.Stunning Paris!!
Excellent location!!
Pros: This property is perfectly located near the Arc de Triomph, subway stations, shops and restaurants. There is a market half a block away. The owners were very nice and available to answer all our questions right away. They even waited for us when our flight arrived at 11pm to give us tour of the apartment. The views from all the windows were spectacular. The rooms were very spacious and our favorite room to hang out as a family was the living/dining room. The bathrooms were clean and stocked with soap and shampoo.
Cons: it was still under renovation and the apartment needed work. The rugs were worn and our group of 11 only had one key to enter. WiFi worked best only in living room. Very convenient washer/dryer but they took a long time.
I would recommend this property to large groups traveling together. Very comfortable space.
Great location but a bit noisy.
The apartment is in great location and clean. It does get quite noisy and not the best place for light sleeper.
disappointed with the cleanliness and the information given how to enter the building.
From the pictures we thought it was a very clean place but we were having issues with the dust and on the whole cleanliness. Kitchen was the only place in the whole building was nicely updated. when we arrived at the house there was no one to to let us in and no bell to ring. Luckily some guy happen to come out and he let us in the complex door but he didn't speak English so we couldn't ask him where is our unit and who has the key. Finally a lady opened her door on the 1st floor and she was supposed to be manaing the place for the owner and she had no idiea who we were and said the owner never told her about us so we were really tired after traveling for US and standing there what's going on. Then some one else came down and said they will let us in and gave the key. After this experience i don't know wheather i'll use our service for future bookings. The building should have door bell and should have some one who can speak english and let us in. Location was good that's why we picked that unit.
That's all I can say.
Great location!
We were two families (total of 10) traveling to Paris and wanted a home with a kitchen instead of your standard hotel rooms. This house is located in a fantastic location, with easy access to the metro, grocery store and restaurants. There is also a wonderful bakery across the street where we got breakfast and sandwiches daily. It is literally two blocks from the Arc de Triomphe! The kitchen is large (wonderful to have laundry units in the kitchen), the beds were comfortable. It is on the second floor so you must carry your luggage up one flight of stairs, but it was easy enough to manage. The air conditioning consist of units that plunge in to wall in each room, but generally the units were able to keep our rooms cool. Only issue is the front bedroom is above a smoke shop and men would literally start smoking at 6am, so if the windows are open, the smoke smell would drift in. It only affected this one room, all the other areas of the house did not smell like smoke, so we just kept these windows closed and it was fine. Overall, a great home in a great location, with all the charm of Paris!
Good value for a large apartment in Paris
First, the good bits:
Description is accurate. Does sleep 13 if somewhat crowded.
Location is convenient. Near Argentine metro stop.
Some nice restaurants close by.
Appliances function properly.
The apartment was clean when we arrived.
The view out the window is of trees along the avenue.
In spite of my complaints, listed below, I might rent it again because the alternatives for this many people in downtown Paris is limited.
We had a great time.
The not so nice parts:
For this kind of money they could spend a couple hundred euros and make this a much better experience.
There is a nail sticking out of the floor as you walk into the living room. Needs to be hammered down not have a band aid put over it.
One of the duvets covers smelled sour and dirty. We washed it.
Half of the light bulbs were burned out.
There is significant water damage on the wall in the back bedroom.
The street noise is excessive even for an urban environment. Can there really be that many motorcycles?
If its warm, the air conditioners must be run, but they vent through the open windows. So if you want to sleep you have to have the windows open. You have to choose between noisy or cool.
Kitchen facilities are adequate but accesories are minimal. I.E. No salt and pepper.
There were 3 coffee pots in the apartment, 2 expresso and 1 drip. Only the drip worked and then only with difficulty.
The linen closet was mess. Is this stuff clean or not?
This building was built in 1870 so I doubt there is anything to do about the street noise/ window,/air conditioner problem unless they punch holes in the wall to vent the air conditioners. The other problems are easily solved or minimized and its a shame the management doesn´t step up their game. It could be a more enjoyable experience with very little investment.
