Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cottage in Richmond - Beautiful 17th Century Cottage

Hare Cottage was built in the 17th Century. It was originally an House Keepers Cottage that was linked via a door to the old shop, now house, next door. Owned by a Wine Merchant it was at one time called Bottle Cottage. It still has a lot of the original features including beams and wooden ceilings. Although quite small and only suitable for 2 people it makes up for its size with its enormous personality.

The stairs are small and steep but it is cute and quite authentic and I'm sure you will agree that it is a great place to take a much needed break. If you like fishing, walking or simply chilling Richmond has so much to offer you and is just a short drive from the surrounding Dales and all its treasures.

About Mark edon

I am a resident of Richmond and live just 5 minutes away from Hare Cottage. I also run an established shop in the town selling fair trade clothes and gifts. Richmond was one of my favourite places to visit as a child and now I live here and love the surrounding Dales and all the beautiful villages and gardens.

Mark edon purchased this cottage in 2004

Why Mark edon chose Yorkshire Dales

Richmond is often referred to as Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park and includes a variety of architecture surrounding what is believed to be the largest cobbled market square in England. The area is popular with walkers and those enjoying sport can choose between golf courses at Richmond or neighbouring Catterick and for those who enjoy a flutter, racecourses at Catterick and Thirsk are both easily accessible

Conveniently situated close to the A1 ensuring easy access to County Durham and the Northumberland coastline to the North and the Yorkshire Dales and historic City of York to the south.

Hare Cottage is set over 3 floors there is a Dining Room / Kitchen on the ground floor, with the original stone floor and beams this room has charm and character, complete with everything you should need to make your stay comfortable. The Living Room is situated on the middle floor, with a comfortable sofa , electric log burner and TV, this room still has the original fireplace and beamed wooden ceiling making it a cosy room to relax at the end of a day spent touring around our beautiful town or indeed the many offerings of The Yorkshire Dales. The bedroom and shower room are on the top floor . A comfortable bed awaits you at the end of the day and what's more relaxing than a warm shower and a cup of tea in bed.

All in all we know you will have a delightful stay with us at Hare Cottage and our location just off the market place means you can simply step out of the door and turn left for a very short walk into the town or right which takes you a couple of minutes to arrive at the river and waterfalls. Just around the back of the cottage leads you directly into the beautiful Richmond Castle.

It's all here for you to enjoy. Thank you for considering Hare Cottage.
