A very clean, modern, quiet and scenic dwelling.

  • 5 of 5

Sammy and his son Mark were very friendly and interested in making our stay pleasant. The farmhouse was modern, clean and easily accommodated four adults. The location was ideal for anyone wanting to visit the Dingle and Kerry sights. If you want a true country experience this is the place to go. We would wake to the view of sheep in the adjacent pasture from our bedroom window. One morning cattle were being herded to pasture down the lane the house was located. Castlemaine is a short distance from the farmhouse and has a couple of pubs with one serving excellent food. We feel extremely lucky to have found this gem.

Comfortable large house with excellent appliances and wifi. Friendly, helpful, and welcoming host.

  • 4 of 5

The house is comfortable and has excellent facilities including wifi. It is fairly remote so a car is essential but the location is good for access to the Dingle Peninsula and the Kerry Way. All in all a good place to return to after a long day out. Thanks Mark for the bread and wine.

Great home! Highly recommend it!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Very comfortable house with everything we needed. Sammy was very flexible with our arrival as it changed several times. Upon arrival his daughter-in-law greeted us and gave us a tour of the home and instructions on the appliances. Also waiting for us was a great bottle of wine and a loaf of bread! We also dined at Sammy restaurant and were sent home with an assortment of desserts from his lovely wife.

I highly recommend this home and would not hesitate to stay there again. The area is beautiful!!

The home is perfect and the hosts are very welcoming. Great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time visiting the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry. Our family used Rick Steves book as a guide but then found we loved exploring "the brown signs" on our own. Skelligs Chocolate and the area surrounding was fantastic. Loved the Irish coffee at Lady's View on the Ring of Kerry as well as the pancakes at Strawberry Fields. Lough Caragh provided the perfect place to have a family picnic. We had such a fabulous time that I could write for days. A simple walk to the river from the house was the best each night. Note: no throw blanket in family room and it was needed on our chilly mornings. The home is old and the downstairs bathroom has an odor. Not a deal breaker.

A Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

We had a marvelous stay here in this quiet, cosy, well-appointed home. Everything was easy, from making the booking, to arrival, to check-out. The farmhouse is in a quiet lane just off the main road that you take to drive around the Dingle peninsula, so it was easy to find and very convenient for sightseeing. We were met on the main road and shown how to find the place, given clear instructions for adjusting the heating, using the shower, etc.. A complimentary bottle of wine arrived which we very much enjoyed as well. The house had everything we needed, it was spotless, and the beds were very comfortable. Our family of 3 adults, a teenager and a baby were all very comfortable in our own rooms. The washing machine and dryer were very convenient to use, and the kitchen was so well appointed, with a double oven, spacious fridge and all the appliances and dishes/pots we needed. The wifi worked well on the main floor of the house. We were able to get groceries in nearby Tralee, and had a wonderful dinner at Sammy's at Inch Beach. Sammy himself greeted us warmly at the restaurant and made sure we had a wonderful dinner, despite some challenges with a teething baby. We wished we could stay longer and would definitely go back again. Thank you so much, Sammy & Co.!

Quiet updated house with plenty of beds

  • 3 of 5

The house is very secluded, with a nice kitchen and updated upstairs bathroom, and good beds (with an extra water closet downstairs). It was a good value. It's not close to anything, but neither is it too far from the Dingle peninsula or the Ring of Kerry. Sammy also runs Sammy's Restaurant (BTW very good!) at Inch beach, so if we had no other way of getting in touch, that always worked. He is much better with texts than emails, and has nearby family members that can come by or show you the house if you need them. The biggest down side for us was a musty/mildew smell that was very strong at first (before we opened the windows - it had probably been vacant a while), but eventually we closed off the dining room (we didn't need the extra space) and that seemed to enclose the worst of it. Difficulty with communication was a bit of a problem, but we worked through it. And when they show you through the house, be sure to find out how to lock the doors! (lift handle up) That required an extra phone call before we could leave the house (although it is so quiet and safe I doubt it would have been a problem).

A lovely secluded location just 10 minutes from Inch Beach on the Dingle Peninsula. 15 minutes from the major shopping area of Tralee and 20 minutes from the popular tourist town of Killarney.

The house has been lovingly restored and is the perfect hideaway for those looking for peace and quiet but with lots to do just on the doorstep.

Part of the 'Wild Atlantic Way' Sammy's on Inch Beach offers a cafe, bar and restaurant as well as a general store and watersports hire shop. Inch Beach is popular for surfing, swimming and walking, whilst Dingle Peninsula is one of Irelands most stunning coastal regions, home to explorer Tom Crean, Fungi the dolphin and some great Irish pubs.

If your looking for the famous Irish 'craic' this part of Ireland is a must, music, art, wildlife and adventure; Kerry has it all. If your planning on exploring on your own or want to join likeminded people we can offer you advice and guidance.
