A fabulous house, a treat to stay in

  • 5 of 5

We arrived a little early and Simon and his team were preparing this gorgeous house for our stay. Simon recommended a local restaurant and bar to relax in, which we did and had a great afternoon. We checked into Maison Louise and what a home. Absolutely lovely, the bedrooms where perfect and very comfy, I stayed in the twin room with such a pretty view, I cannot think of one bad thing to say at all, my partner and friends are all cycling geeks and after cycling up mint ventoux and the gorge e did have time to relax in such a pretty garden. I felt so at home I could have stayed so much longer. My self and partner are hoping To return with family next year. We loved it. Thank you Simon for being patient with us and allowing us to stay in your lovely home.

The house is gorgeous, beautifully designed and comfortable. Air con a real advantage in high summer and good shopping, restaurants and bars close by.

Beautiful property in a fabulous location.

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay in Simon's lovely home. Summing up:

The best bits:

Air conditioning throughout which worked! (always a bonus)

Comfortable beds with quality bedding.

Spotlessly clean.

Incredibly well-equipped, including a gym (not used but nice to have the facility if we'd been feeling so inclined)

Lovely pool which had steps at one end (great for the toddler who was with us)

Fabulous hi-tech sound system in each room (caused several arguments over whose music was playing but never mind)

Tastefully decorated throughout.

A 2 minute walk from a delightful wine bar and a beer bar.

In the town of Pernes but very quiet apart from nearby church bells (which fortunately don't ring during the night!)

Simon was at the end of a phone to help with any issues should they arise.

The not-so-good bits:

Struggling to find any. Simon had thought of pretty much everything - even flowers and a magnificent bowl of fresh fruit to greet us. Maybe a hairdrier in each bedroom would be an added bonus.

Lovely House

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautifully designed and well equipped house. Comfortably enough space for all three generations of our family. Plenty of sun and shade in the garden too. The air conditioning was a bonus on the hot nights and the pool for the hot days. There was never any problem parking all three cars right outside. Pernes-les-Fontaines is a delightful town with everything we needed within walking distance. Simon is a charming host who looked after us well. Thanks for a great holiday.

Superbly presented and appointed. A beautiful house in a fantastic location.

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely fantastic house. We had a mixed group of family and friends who all loved it. There is something for all to enjoy, from the well appointed gym, the sound system, the excellent pool to the well appointed kitchen and interesting garden. We loved playing boules just outside the back gate and exploring the narrow streets of the town. The capacious laundry room accommodated our 4 bikes with room to spare for all our gear. Air conditioning is a big plus for this house, being efficient and easy to use. We found Simon extremely helpful and his restaurant recommendations are spot on. As keen cyclists the location is perfect. We could easily access both Mont Ventoux and Gorges de la Nesque without taking the car. There are also superb trails from the town for both running and walking, all of which can now be found on Strava. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer. We will be back.

Great family holiday in an 18th century Provencal house

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house because it was perfect for a family get-together from Australia, New Zealand and London. We were six adults (three couples) and two children (including a toddler) . There is a great arrangement of rooms and bathrooms. The decor is sophisticated. The beds are large (not like the usual smaller French beds). There was a cot for the youngest grandchild. The dishwasher, washing machine and dryer were heavily used.

The house is well-equipped. We cooked every night - mostly on the Weber BBQ. The pool was absolutely essential in the heat, as was the cool shady garden in the late afternoon sun.

The house is in the village, not far from the medieval wall and the Porte. It was therefore a great pleasure to be able to walk to a choice of boulangeries, patissiers, markets and a small U super (supermarket). There was also a tabac and wine bar within 300 metres and a choice of more than ten restaurants. We recommend La Dame L'Oie and La Margelle. If you are up for a walk of 1.5 km, try Auberge de la Camarette in the vineyard of the same name.

A short drive of 30 minutes will get you to the village of Chateauneuf du Pape and the restaurant Le Verger des Papes - great view but food is better at Auberge.

We also recommend visiting the L'Abbaye de Senanque, and Fontaine de Vaucluse. There are picturesque towns such as Gordes nearby.

We recommend a train to Avignon and a hire car, although you will find it hard to leave Pernes-les-Fontaines.

Simon the owner is most accommodating and helpful. He is also an interior designer, hence the well-appointed and beautifully decorated house.
