Guestbook comments from the manager

The Coach House is set in an ideal location in the beautiful village of Painswick with pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance. There was plenty of room for my wife and I, our daughter and son-in-law and 6 month old granddaughter and two border collies. The house was very well prepared and the garden immaculate. There are magnificent views from the bedrooms and we really appreciated the folding doors that really brought the garden area into the kitchen diner. Lots of walks from the house....we will definitely be back to do more exploring!

We found this house whilst looking for an 8-9 person accommodation - it fitted perfectly. It was a special surprise for my dad's 80 th and we had visitors from us and Singapore. We had a brilliant weekend. The kitchen diner was great easy to cook and entertain and the snug/games room was a hit. Lovely lounge too with a real fire - facilities were modern and the house and garden well kept and very clean.

Fantastic house in a beautiful location with all the facilities for a family holiday

  • 5 of 5

I organised a long weekend break for my extended family (parent-in-laws, sister-in-law, her two children) along with my wife and our two young children to celebrate my birthday. We could not have asked for a better location and house. There was something for all age groups and plenty of space to allow small groups to do their own thing. At the end of the lane there is a gorgeous church with the best manicured trees I have ever seen. A good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs all within walking distance. We were fortunate enough to see a brilliant fireworks display at the local school. We hope to return again soon. You will not regret booking this amazing house.

Lovely house but could do with a door on one of the en-suites.

  • 4 of 5

Very pretty and lovely location. Double bedrooms very comfortable but no shaver/toothbrush point in bathrooms. No hair dryer which was a bit of a chore. Wasps' nest in roof but agent got someone to sort it out and it was fine after that. Overall comfortable house in pretty village.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and valid points raised, apologies about the wasp's nest and hair dryer. A hair dryer should be at the house, perhaps a previous guest took it home by mistake. I will double check and replace if needed. I will discuss the addition of a shaver point with the owners, however I am glad you had a great weekend overall.

Very nice cottage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was very well equipped and had 3 lovely new bathrooms, plenty of room and well presented. Fantastic views from the garden and master bedroom.

we would have given it 5 stars but the garden and lawn needed some attention.

The manager was very helpful, some nice local restaurants, steep narrow hill down to the cottage but it did not give us any problems

would definitely recommend it

Painswick, Gloucestershire is the 'Queen of the Cotswolds'. It is a 17th c village founded by wealthy wool merchants. Limestone chocolate boxes line the narrow streets that tumble up and down. Rolling hills mark the buccolic area of outstanding natural beauty. 90 minutes northwest of London Painswick is centrally located to tour England and Wales. Nearby are Stroud, Cirencester, Tetbury, Bath, Cheltenham, Oxford, Stow-on-the-Wold, and Stratford-upon-Avon. Painswick in Southern Cotswolds is very much like a tradtional English village. Painswick offers a general store, hairdresser, restaurants, pubs, boutiques, art gallery, deli, and more. The converted Coach House is simply a very short stroll to all of these amenities. Outside the churchyard is a bus stop with easy access to Stroud, Cheltenham, Cirecester, and Gloucester. The train station in Stroud runs almost hourly to London. While this is a country village with numerous beautiful walking paths throughout the Painswick Valley, it is also very chic.
