A cosy well equiped cottage situated in the historic town of Woodstock

The Corner House is situated in Hensington Road, one of the most desirable roads in the historic town of Woodstock. This lovely property is conveniently placed close to a free car park, away from the busy High Street but just a few steps walk from all amenities. The cottage has been recently renovated and furnished to a very high standard providing well equiped comfortable and cosy accommodation. The Corner House has a pretty and secluded garden, perfect for relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing. As a point of interest, Woodstock was once world famous for glove making and this delighful cottage, which boasts FIVE chimneys, was the home of one of the glove factory supervisors (very fitting as the number of chimneys a house has was a sign of wealth and affluence). If you're looking for a very romantic place to stay, and love the idea of being close to some of Oxfordshire's nicest places to eat, this is the property and town for you.

Having taken early retirement from accountancy, with many hours wasted in rush hour traffic jams, it was time to do somthing nearer to home.

I have lived in this area all of my life as did my parents and grandparents . I am passionate about Woodstock and want others to visit it and get to know and love it as I do.

I have been looking for a smaller two bedroom property for a few years now and have looked at many over that time. When this cottage became available I knew straight away it was the one for me and my guests. In the heart of the town but away from the hustle and bustle of the busy High Street, the beautiful walled patio garden sold the property to me, perfect for those balmy summer evenings.

The rooms are bright and light not at all like traditional cottages which can be dark and depressing.

What makes this cottage unique

Benefits from being just off the busy high street yet just a 2 minute walk from all amenities. Secluded walled secure garden. 2 bedrooms with flexible usage. Main bedroom can accommodate 3 persons and small single can accommodate 2 with flexible bed arrangement.

A lovely cottage in a perfect location for the town. Very comfortable and generally well appointed.

The cottage was in a perfect position for us, walking distance from the town centre and Blenheim and near to parking. It was also near to the bus stop for Oxford. Woodstock is a lovely town with good places to eat, drink and buy necessities.

Inside, the cottage had all we needed and was extremely comfortable and homely. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that the kitchen appliances were in need of some attention. The dishwasher didn't function, the door handle on the fridge had clearly been broken for some time and we needed matches to light the gas rings. This is a minor gripe however and I would recommend the cottage unreservedly. The owners left us a bottle of wine, flowers and some biscuits to make us feel at home, which we did. The furniture, fittings, bedding etc were all clean, comfortable and homely and the house was decorated beautifully. For a family of four it was an ideal cottage in an ideal location.

The corner house was a great place to stay. Conveniently located in the center of Woodstock. Linda always replied to messages quickly and we found the house well prepared and organized. Highly recommended!

Charming, immaculate cottage in an ideal location.

The corner house is the attached end of a long, two-story building at the north edge of the village of Woodstock. It's in an ideal location, on a quiet side street but only a block off High St., and Blenheim Palace is so close that you could just about to throw a baseball into the grounds if you had a really good arm. The cottage is spanking clean and quite charming, with good light and plenty of room for a two bedroom cottage. It has everything that I like in a place to stay: comfortable beds with good bedside light, a large bathtub for soaking after long days of walking (and a powerful shower), a private, pretty little patio, and a strong, fast Wi-Fi signal that reaches everywhere in the house including the patio. Woodstock in itself is a beguiling old world village that makes a very good base for saying both Oxford and the Cottswald. It's 8 miles to downtown Oxford, 17 miles to Stow-on-Wold. We stayed three nights but I wish we had planned a week instead of spending part of our time in Stow. Communications with Linda were always quick and responsive, and she clearly goes to extra mile to keep the cottage an appealing and comfortable place for travelers.
