About Dave Margolin
We welcome you to our 'Treehouse' vacation homes in the Sierra's. I've come to be quite fond of this mountain since my first ski trips here during grade school, so much that I moved from my home town in L.A. to live in Mammoth shortly after my studies at USC. Working in Mammoth construction that year, I took up a weekend job as a ski instructor. We now live in Orange County, but our family frequents the Sierras during all seasons and just love it. Our son joined Mammoth Ski team 2004, and enjoyed instructions from the Dave McCoy family themselves, (Mammoth's founders). Being a homeowner in Mammoth and having served the local boards and committees has helped us with our sense of community in this wonderful town. In 1999, we purchased our first two homes here in Mammoth. The locations were so ideal, we wanted to share them with travelers who could appreciate them as we did. Having served in resort real estate development helped us to plan and model these homes with travelers in mind, each year making added improvements requested by our visitors. Treehouse-1 was such a hit in the Village, we decided to expand by adding Treehouse-2, just across the hall and during Summer 2012 it was remodelled with nearly identical design as T1. Both of these grand village homes are rated 5 stars on TripAdvisor where scores of testimonials have been posted. We now have 3 homes in Mammoth, including Treehouse 1&2 in the Village at Fireside, and the Aspen Treehouse at Aspen Creek. We've modeled these homes with natural elements to blend in with the beauty of the Sierra's, with a generous use of stone, rough cut local wood, earth tones, lots of log furnishings, and a mix of rustic and contemporary flare. We've developed a family run vacation rental business that we take great pride in and know you will enjoy our Mammoth Treehouse Vacation Rentals. Marian and I look forward to sharing our home and hospitality. Sierra Greetings Dave and Marian

Great location, nice place, air was a little stale may need carpet freshend up.
The location was great being just a quick hike to Eagle Lodge. The layout was a little strange with two doors leading into the one full bath, but it was comfortable enough for three of us. The only other thing is that the air was a little stale probably from the mud room or the carpet. They may need to freshen up the place a little, but I guess that comes with the territory when the inside sees a lot of water from skis, snowboards, and boots over the years. The owner was very nice and helpful and we will definately keep this place on our list for future visits.
Thanks for the review. And thanks for your report, I suspect your correct about wet ski gear and needing to air out.. given the carpet is fairly new. We look forward to your future stays... and know that your comments are met with immediate action to keep our unit in pristine condition.
Great times at Eagle Lodge!
My family loved our stay at the condo! Clean, easy access to Eagle Lodge, and plenty of room for a family of 4. We will be returning next year!
So glad to hear. We look forward to seeing you again.
Aspen Creek Tree House
My four friends and I just stayed at the Aspen Creek Tree House during our ski/snowboard weekend trip at Mammoth. The location was perfect, it was a 5-10 minute walk from the lift at Eagle Lodge, which was awesome. The wood burning stove was so nice to come back to, and we all slept comfortably for it being technically a one bedroom. Was a great price split between us all as well. Would totally stay here again!
Spacious and great location
We loved our stay in the Aspen Tree House. The condo was perfect for a long ski weekend, with easy access to the Eagle lodge...practically ski-in-ski out! There was too much snow to use the ski-back trail, but walking along the road just a few steps to the lifts was quick and easy. The condo itself is bright and spacious, with plenty of room for us to spread out with our 10 month old baby. Loved cooking in the kitchen and watching the snow fall outside the living room window. The bonus room was great for our baby to sleep in, but would be a great place for a few older kids to play and sleep as well. Having underground parking and elevator access was also a lovely feature, especially during a snow storm. We would definitely stay here again!
So glad to hear you enjoyed the Aspen Treehouse and made good use of the Bonus room for your baby. Thanks for taking the time to write your comments, we enjoyed having you as our guest and hope to see you again soon.

Quirky layout but cozy nice location
The location of the Treehouse was great - just down the street from Eagle lodge - an easy walk. Not enough snow to ski in or out. The layout is a little quirky but comfortable & cute. Kitchen a little outdated but serviceable and it would be nice to have a 2nd bathroom. Very enjoyable overall.
Great to hear it was an enjoyable experience... thats most important to us! Snow was definitely off to a slow start this year unfortunately... Doesn't help the ski back trail ... But good news is.. the weather has turned and it's now begun to snow ... Hope to see you in better conditions... Typically Mammoth has the most snow in the country.
The location is great. People were responsive. Can walk to slopes and hop right on to Eagle Express.
Now the bad part. Ski in is not accurate in the description. There was no path to get back to the complex and there certainly wasn't a path to cross the street which wouldn't damage your skis. Also, the unit needs a fresh coat of paint and maybe new carpet. It smelled liked the inside of a ski boot, plus there was a lot of dust that kicked in my allergies.
As owner of Aspen Treehouse, I was very alarmed to see your statement about damaging your skis and lack of cleanliness. I immediately went to investigate the ski-back trail that has been maintained for the past 10 years. The ski-back trail is a legal easement owned by the Aspen Creek condo complex. I was able to ski back to Aspen creek using the trail myself, but with the abundance of snow this year, there were definitely challenges getting across certain area's where snow was piled up. (note that the Town of Mammoth Lakes has received record snow this year, and in fact the California National Guard was called in to Help Remove 4,000 Tons of Snow that has challenged the town). This is why my advertising includes a note that the Ski-Back trail is available dependent on snow conditions, (if there's too much snow or not enough snow). As for your note on the carpet, this is a beautiful new carpet less that 18 months old, and we do carpet cleaning twice per year, and we have a professional hotel / condo cleaning company that maintains our property. Given the fact that this is our first negative review for cleanliness, I've checked on the unit today and did not find dust or unusual smell as noted. I'm sorry this guest had cause to post this negative review and can assure my future guests that we maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and repair.
