Description

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Capestrano - Nature, Culture, Gastronomy

A well equipped home for 2- 6 guests with private garden and parking.

A comfortable and well-equipped three-bedroom home in a stunning setting. You are renting a private house with a natural garden for your use only (not shared). Two patios one has Fig and Olive trees for shade and a terrace with table, chairs and a couple of sun loungers to relax on and enjoy the views . Another patio to sit in the full sun! At the house is a portable 4G Wfi modem, free WIFI is also available in the main village piazza and in bars and restaurants. The road to the house is cobbled and there is no through traffic. There is a small, private parking area at the side of the house. The house is only five minutes walk from the castle, piazza and shops.

The house is typical of many found in the town with vaulted ceilings and a cantina beneath. There are three bedrooms. The two upstairs both have two single beds and the double is downstairs. A crib is available for a small baby. There are two bathrooms. The newer one downstairs has a shower, bidet, loo and a wash basin. Upstairs is a smaller, basic bathroom off one of the bedrooms, with a hip bath and over shower, loo and hand basin. Towels and hairdryer are provided. All linen is 100% cotton and there are blankets and duvets for the cooler weather.

The Utility room has a washing machine, iron and ironing board.

The comfortable Lounge/Dining room was converted from a barn 8 years ago and has wonderful views across the valley from the large picture window, this room also has access to the garden. .Two 2-seater sofas, coffee table, dining table with seating for 6 people , TV and DVD player and a music docking station makes this a relaxing space. Many books, games, DVD’s, maps and guides are provided for guests.

The kitchen is well-equipped and has a breakfast table. Cooking is on a bottled gas cooker. There is a fridge/freezer, toaster, slow cooker, hand blender and plenty of plates, cutlery, glasses, pans, tea-towels etc. Picnic utensils, flasks, cooler bag and picnic rug are also provided and there is a small BBQ.

There is a wood pellet stove in the kitchen when needed and two bottled gas fires are in the house. FANS are in each room for the hotter weather and the windows have fly screens.

Capestrano is a picturesque hill-top town of around 700 people. There is a main piazza, churches, a monastery and a beautiful C13th castle (free entry) overlooking the town. It is located on the edge of the National Park known as the Gran Sasso e monti della Laga. Facilities are good with an ATM, two bars (one with a restaurant), two small supermarkets, butcher, pharmacy, post office etc. A mobile fruit and veg stall is there most days. A market is held each week on a Friday morning with are a range of stalls including one selling fresh fish.

There are peaceful nature walks from the house and more challenging ones in the hills. Climbing, mountain biking two bikes (use at your own risk and a bike carrier to fit many cars ) horse-riding, canoeing and an outdoor pool (July/August) are all available in the area. There are numerous places to visit nearby - ancient sites, castles, museums, wineries, local food producers etc. The beaches of the Adriatic are 50 minutes away. Locally, you can eat in many good restaurants and information about them and places of interest can be found at the house.

I care about my guests and want them to have a 5 * stay and my reviews reflect this, on this site, air b&b and trip advisor

A roomy and very well equipped house in a lovely village

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful area and the view from the living area window is superb - the photo on the website does not do it justice. We had everything we needed and Pamela provided us with lots of useful information and maps before we went and in the house. Capestrano is a lovely old village with good shops for its size and friendly people. As a bonus we were there during the two-day Burgus Lupuli festival. The house also served as an excellent centre for visiting the Gran Sasso Park, the Sulmona area and the coast. Thoroughly recommend.

UN SEJOUR ENCHANTEUR

  • 5 of 5

Owner's Response: I am glad you had a wonderful holiday . Sorry you found the water pressure low, this is a Capestrano village problem, I have been told that new water pipes will be fitted soon in the village to improve this problem. Best wishes Pamela

Traumhafter Blick in die endlose Ferne ...

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful restaured typical abruzzo village house in beautiful scenery.

  • 5 of 5

We liked the villagehouse and the surroundings very much. Mountainsview from the livingwindow and garden/terrace is great! We fell in love wiht the Abruzzo region (very peacefull and far away from the mass tourism) Everything that you need is there.(still, a mosquitonet for every bed would be nice!).

Very well equiped and beautiful decoreted and clean. Basic equipment for grocery present (thank you!)

A pity that the shower didn't work well (sometimes almost no water because of the lack of pressure. We know it is a comunityproblem but still it would be nice to have a good shower in hot days).

There is a lot do to in the surroundings (walking, cycling, beautiful medieval villages). In the house there is a lot of information about things to do.

Don't forget to visit Campo imeratore (+ barbecue) and to do the canoe trip on river tirino.

We would definitely want to go back!

Owner's Response: Glad you had a great time, I agree Abruzzo is a beautiful, undiscovered gem! You have been great guests and I hope you will visit this charming village again as there is plenty more to see and do in the area. Thank you for your feedback about addition mosquito nets, I will look into getting some more although all the windows have fly screens. I think they are midges not mosquitos I also leave coils and citronella candles for the garden for guests. Work is in progress in Capestrano with new water pipes being laid.I enquired today and said it was a problem I have been told new pipes will be fitted out side my house in October . Update 13/8/2016 The water was turned off in the area yesterday and some more work done. 9/9/2016 outside the house the road has been dug up and new water pipes are being laid . 26/92016 new water pipes now both in the road and in the house ..the rain shower is now like a power shower..the water is great and no problem. Kind Regards Pamela

  • 5 of 5

Unbedingt empfehlenswert!
