Description

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cottage in Torquay - Apartment No 1 Astor House Warren Road Torquay TQ2 5TR

Sleeps 4 guests in 1 bedroom

Set within a beautifully converted Victorian villa with contemporary wings overlooking Torre Abbey Sands and Tor Bay, Astor House in Torquay offers stylishly furnished self-catering holiday apartments in the heart of the English Riviera.

Most apartments come with breath-taking uninterrupted sea views from our south-facing cliff-top location. With a quiet residential setting yet close to the beach in central Torquay, this picture-perfect spot is also the ideal base to explore the surrounding area.

A feature arch window in the spacious living room with a small step leads to a small private balcony with idyllic bay views. This large 2nd floor apartment also has a sizeable bathroom with shower over, a sofa bed, plush bedroom full of coastal colours and a separate kitchen/breakfast room.

Local restaurants, cafes, the marina and the scenic beachfront are all within walking distance and it's also just 500m to the town centre. As well as the many beaches and family entertainment, rugged walking trails on nearby Dartmoor are only a 30-minute drive away as is the cathedral city of Exeter with the beautiful South Hams on your doorstep.

When you’re ready to unwind, our recently updated one and two bedroom apartments offer the kind of contemporary comforts to make you feel right at home, with plush furnishings and high-end amenities throughout. Compared with a hotel room, the much greater space of our fully equipped apartments let you spread out in comfort with your own separate lounge, kitchen and bedroom.

Astor House offers everything needed to relax when you want, for as little or as long as you want, throughout your self-catering holiday in Torquay. We offer corporate and winter lets too.

Following a complete refurbishment, every apartment also offers the following features as standard:

Fast free Wi-Fi

24/7 access

A fully equipped kitchen including a microwave and washer/dryer or dishwasher

Flat screen digital TV with DVD with dvds, games and books

Limited reserved parking at £5 a day or unrestricted roadside parking

Too much climbing for senior citizens

  • 4 of 5

Flat was clean however to have to climb out of the window to enjoy the view was not mentioned..no good for older people five flights at 75 years of age is not good needed an iron lung when we got there.

Great View

  • 4 of 5

Great place with a spectacular view! Situated above several bars and restaurants which a certain amount of fitness is required to walk down to. Ok for us but probarbly not suitable for people with mobility problems. Saying that, we never had a problem acquiring a cab to get down the hill or back up after several libations (between £3.90 - £5.00). Loved Torquay. Recommend Ferry trip to Brixham.

Good view. Need to be fit!

  • 3 of 5

Lovely view and tidy apartment. Decor is required to some doors and walls though.

No mention it was on the top floor and after climbing 157 steps from the restaurants below a further four flights of stairs is a killer! But good for keeping fit.

To get on the balcony you have to climb through a window!!

Great location though near good restaurants and the centre of Torquay. Just needs a lift!!!

Home away from home with a great view

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Astor House. It had all the creature comforts of home and the location was fantastic. It was an easy walk into town or strolling along the promenade and there were a number of eateries nearby so if you didn't feel like cooking at home there was plenty of choice. Would definitely stay there again.

Holiday in June

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in Astor House very much. The apartment was big enough, very tidy, stylish and well equipped. It was quiet in the house. The sea view was breath taking day and night. We can recommend Astor House to families, couples and everybody.
