Important notes on accommodation
This property is suitable for children as it has a large gated garden.
"We stayed at the house in Dahouet in July 2012 for a week. We had a wonderful holiday, thanks largely to the first-rate accommodation which was spacious and fitted to a very high standard. The garden is also beautifully maintained and we were able to make use of the BBQ. The surrounding area was picturesque and with plenty of shops, restaurants, supermarkets and beaches (as well as an excellent golf course) in close proximity.
I will recommend the house to friends and family. The five bedrooms are all very comfortable and having a separate annexe adds greater flexibility to sleeping arrangements. We really enjoyed visiting the numerous beaches nearby as well as walking into Val Andre. Our children loved the boats on the lake next to the house and the local boulangerie was visited daily to cater for breakfast / beach picnics.
Thanks Isabelle and we look forward to staying in Dahouet again."

We had a lovely holiday with extended family, two nice beaches within 15 -20 minutes walk which our children (5&8) enjoyed - good for swimming and sandy beach for playing. We enjoyed the garden and barbecue. The children and adults enjoyed boat rides on the lake and it was great to be only a short walk from a bakery and several restaurants. We would happily return and have already recommended the house to others.
We had a lovely holiday at this house...it is very well equipped with all you would need. Its great for children being so close to the beach and the lake to feed the ducks. The kitchen was good and very easy to use and all of the bedrooms are really comfortable. A minor complaint would be the noisy road close to the house; whilst this isn't dangerous for children due to the good garden, it was pretty noisy when in the garden and at night when its hot with the windows open. In addition, we had one really disturbed night (a Saturday night) when people parked close to the house and had a party/picnic by the lake until about 6am; with the windows open due to the heat, this was again pretty noisy. It would also be useful for it to be specified that beach towels are not provided as the info on this website says "all linen provided"; we did bring some beach towels so it was ok but it would have been useful to have a few more. In addition, if you like big bath towels please bring your own as the ones provided are small! Overall though, it is a brilliant house and we would love to come back!
The property was perfect for us.
We had a family party of 10. There were sufficient beds and bathrooms, table places and chairs and very comfortable lounge seating for all. The beds were very comfortable with no complaints from anyone in the party. The attached annex was great for the grand parents.
The house was very clean, in good repair and with hardwood or tiled floors with everything required. All appliances, cooker, fridge, dish washer, washing machine and tumble dryer were new.
The house setting was quite beautiful overlooking the lake and with a beautiful secluded garden and an outdoor well designed barbeque. It was very convenient for both shopping and the beach. Dahouet port and Val Andre had numerous small restaurants which we returned to time and again. We probably walked to Le Zef restaurant in the port most often for moules and a glass of cider or wine and crepes for the younger members of the party and to watch the flotilla of small boats entering or leaving the harbour at high tide. We also benefited from good sunny weather.
The property owners, Isabelle and David couldn't have been more helpful. we would love to return and would certainly recommend the property and location to our friends without hesitation.
My extended family stayed at the house listed here for a week in July 2016. Our group consisted of 6 adults and 4 children aged 8 or younger. The house met our needs perfectly. Plenty of bedrooms and common area space for everyone. A large kitchen and laundry room were also very welcome. But the real treat was the large outside patio and grill area. We used it every night for dinner prep and socializing and the kids played there during the day. The home was within easy walking distance to the large beach and promenade in Val Andre and the small shopping area in Dahouet (restaurants, bars, bakeries, organic grocery store, and more). We found the whole experience to be relaxing and convenient and would love the opportunity to stay there again on our next trip to Brittany.
We have been visiting France for over 20 years and this property is right up there with the best. Our party of 10 ranged in age from 17 months to 60+ and all were happy, with extras like the free town wifi a real bonus. The house was clean, well-equipped, spacious - bigger than the online pictures suggest - and ideally situated within walking distance of a marina, boulangerie, bar, other small shops and 3 reasonably priced restaurants. The garden is superb, allowing ample space for our 4 young grandchildren to play safely and even enough room for our sons to play badminton and boules! The boating lake next to the house provided hours of fun, not just the boat trips and children's playground, but watching the ducks, geese, fish and even (we believe) a coypu. With a town beach only 15 minutes walk away and a 5 minute drive to a quieter, sandy cove with rock pools, we couldn't have been happier. We were delighted to meet David and Isabelle who provided useful local information and were careful not to be intrusive. We shall definitely recommend this property to our friends and family and hope to return ourselves.
This holiday home exceeds all expectations. Characterful, well designed house with much care taken in finishing touches. Feels spacious and hospitable inside with ample room, whether travelling with or without children. (Stair gate, highchair and travel cot available upon request.) Reliable WIFI included. Beautiful garden with very convenient and easy to use covered BBQ area. The annex was very useful with the wet room and utility room for storing beach kit and washing off sand. Ample space for parking. Quiet neighbours and nearby road. The location couldn't have been more perfect for us. With two young children, the house overlooked a lake where you can take miniature electric boats out. There is also a rope climbing frame and sandpit by the lake, just a few minutes walk from the house. It's a quiet, picturesque location and isn't too "touristy", instead it feels quite local which is great for experiencing a more French atmosphere. Within easy walking distance are the boulangerie, three restaurants and the marina. Beach and town centre is an easy 10-15 minute walk. L.Eclerc supermarket is less than a 10 minute drive away. The owner Isabelle is very professional, helpful, friendly and easy to communicate with; both she and her husband gave us a warm welcome on our arrival. I cannot recommend this holiday home more highly! Thank you for such an enjoyable week.
