Nestled in the lovely countryside between the villages of San Marcello & Monsano lies apartment Girasole. This new, light, airy, spacious & peaceful apartment offers very comfortable & well-appointed accommodation. Both the bedroom & kitchen/lounge have double patio doors leading onto your private infinity edge terrace and garden area - with breath-taking views of the verdicchio vineyards, olive groves & the Adriatic Sea beyond. Both bedroom and kitchen windows have fitted fly screens.


Apartment Girasole is not on a complex, it is the sole apartment available; and the owners Paul & Julie whose home adjoins the completely independent apartment, are always at hand to assist and advise you.

About Julie Goodair

We fell in love with Marche over several holidays in the region and decided to realise our dreams and moved here in 2013. In 2014 ( yes, just one year of building!) we moved into our lovely Architect designed home, which having been completely rebuilt in a traditional style has all the comforts of a 21st century home whilst retaining some of the original warmth and charm we fell in love with.

2018 is our fourth season of letting apartment Girasole which we designed for friends and family to stay in whilst visiting us in beautiful Marche.

Marche is a fabulous region to both live and holiday in and we hope to spend many happy years here entertaining friends and family and perhaps making new friends along the way.

Having fallen in love with the amazing location of an old "Casa Colonica" (old country house) we eventually became owners in 2012. Our home is an Architect designed property which has been completely rebuilt in a traditional style - meaning it has all the comforts of a 21st century home while retaining some charm and character. After a year of building ( pretty much a record according to locals!) we moved into our home in June 2014. In 2015 we decided to let out the apartment we built for friends & family to select guests. We hope you will become one of them.

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday at Girasole in September. The apartment is excellent and just perfect for two people. Paul and Julie, the owners, were so welcoming and Paul even came rushing out with a large umbrella when we arrived in torrential rain (the first rain in months). We enjoy doing our own cooking and it was lovely to have such good, virtually new, facilities. The views from the patio are wonderful. Le Marche is a very interesting area to explore and we enjoyed trips to hilltop villages and the coast. Our favourite visit was to Urbino, a busy, bustling, University town with wonderful buildings and architecture. We are in agreement with all the fabulous reviews. Thank you Julie and Paul for the lovely hospitality.

Dream vacation spot!

This house rental was absolutely amazing! The moment we arrived the scenery took our breath away! Everything about this house and property is everything you could ever want. It has picturesque scenery with rolling Tuscan hills of sunflower and wheat fields. The house itself is beautifully and meticulously maintained by the owners with flower gardens, and a water feature. The views cannot be beat, the private patio which we sat on to enjoy our morning espresso or a candle lit dinner. There is a great supermarket near by which we got fresh pasta and enjoyed cooking in the modern kitchen which leads to the patio. I loved waking up each morning and opening the glass doors to see the beautiful countryside. There was a great hammock and lounger chairs to relax in and enjoy views! The owners could not of been more welcoming, friendlier or kind! They truly thought of everything and then some. The property inside and out looks even better in person than in real life! It was the honeymoon of our dreams. The kitchen had all the necessary items like pots and pans, dishes, espresso maker, sugar, olive oil in the cupboard, etc if you want to stay in and cook or there is a great restaurant just down the rotd. They had a lovely bottle of wine on ice upon our arrival and a great book of day trips, restaurants and other nearby attractions. Can't say enough good things about this rental. We hope we have the opportunity to return one day!

Van alle lovende woorden in de voorgaande reviews was er geen enkel overdreven. Dit appartement is tot in de puntjes met veel smaak ingericht en onderhouden en niets waar we behoefte aan hadden ontbrak er. Het uitzicht vanaf het terras nodigt je uit om de hele dag niets te doen en alleen maar te genieten. Julie en Paul zijn voortreffelijke gastvrouw en -heer en staan direct voor je klaar als je wat nodig hebt. Het appartement ligt midden tussen tal van bezienswaardige dorpjes en stadjes en een kwartier rijden van het vliegveld Ancona-Falconare. Wij komen volgend jaar zeker terug!

The guides provided helped us explore the spectacular country side. We particularly enjoyed the location of the property as it allowed exploring the Adriatic Coast as well as the interesting,steeped in history country side.We enjoyed returning home to the apartment, sipping a local Verdecchio and enjoying the sweeping vista. A place to return to.

A Perfect Romantic Retreat

This place was just what we were looking for - it is a newly built luxury hideaway and a great alternative to staying in a hotel. It was even better than the photos ..We were impressed with the communication and the warm welcome from Julie and Paul the owners - every little detail had been catered for and scrutinised and there was the opportunity to lounge on the terrace admiring the far reaching breathtaking views as far down to the sea on a clear day. We were able to truly relax and enjoy a day on the beach with a picnic , and an afternoon exploring the historic town, compete with wonderful architecture and its own market - we will definitely return for another weekend, maybe longer. I would return again in September .We are very envious of this great location!

Im August 2017 waren wir eine Woche „zu Gast“ bei Julie & Paul und bei Sparky dem Hund.

Der Ort als solches ist schon traumhaft schön und traumhaft schön gelegen. Das alleine ist es aber nicht, weshalb wir uns auf Anhieb an diesem Ort „zu Hause“ gefühlt haben. Es ist dieses Gefühl von (beinahe schon familiärer) Vertrautheit, welche von Julie & Paul ausgehen.

Meine Empfehlung an den geneigten Leser :

Wer im Urlaub nach Action, Attraktionen, Night Life und „Ramba Zamba“ etc. sucht, sollte da nicht hingehen. Zu weit abgelegen ist dieser wunderschöne Ort vom grossen „Boost“.

Wer „Erholung pur“ sucht, fern ab vom klassischen Tourismus, der wird an diesem Ort ein Stück Paradies finden.


Das Haus steht ca 5 Autominuten vom nächsten Ort. Die Realität, die wir dort vorgefunden haben, übertrafen die Bilddarstellungen auf FEWO („WOW Effekt“ garantiert).

Die nächst grösseren Orte, wie die nächsten Strände sind in ca.. 20 Autominuten erreichbar.

Sehr zu empfehlen: Mezzavalle; 40 Minuten per Auto.

Was die nächst grösseren Städte, so wie z.B. Ancona, zu bieten haben, kann jeder selber im Internet nachlesen. Auch hier gilt , dass jeder selber rausfinden muss, wo das zu finden ist, nachdem man sucht (Shopping oder eher Kulturelles).


Die Bevölkerung ist unerwartet nett, herzlich und hilfsbereit und ganz allgemein sehr unerwartet locker drauf (wenn man mal die Fahrkultur auf den Strassen ausblendet).


In Sachen Ausrüstung (Küche, Bad, Wohnen, Schlafen, Terrasse) fehlt es an NICHTS. Das, was an „Equipment“ vorhanden ist, ist auch ausnahmslos von guter Qualität und darüber hinaus sehr geschmackvoll, liebevoll (passend zum Haus, passend zum Ganzen) ausgewählt, so, als ob Julie und Paul vorhatten, diese Ferienwohnung selbst bewohnen zu wollen.


Paul hat unzählige Tipps auf Lager. Die Tipps, welchen wir nachgehen konnten, waren auf jeden Fall alle ein Volltreffer. Die abendlichen (zwanglosen) Unterhaltungen mit Paul und Julie haben wir als grosse Bereicherung empfunden.

AND of course the daily’s “good morning” and “good night” from Sparky :-)

we miss you … already

Wenn auch es zu unseren Prinzipien gehört, Feriendestinationen kein zweites Mal zu bereisen. Julie und Paul (und auch Sparky) allein schon wären es der Wert, dahin zurückzukehren.
