The pretty towns of Selkirk Melrose Jedburgh and Kelso are all within easy reach all steeped in history and holding their annual Common Riding events in the summer months which are a must see! Edinburgh is a great day out with lots on offer throughout the year including a fabulous Christmas Market why not use the Scottish Borders Railway from Tweedbank station which is just 13 miles away and offers free parking. Bowhill country estate is a short drive away with its lovely walks and adventure playground Sir Walters Scott s court room Abbotsford Jedburgh Castle & Jail Mellerstain House Floors Castle and Mary Queen of Scots visitors centre are just some of the local attractions. Mountain bikers are spoilt for choice with country tracks and forest trails including the Southern Upland way which is close at hand to explore. As you enter this cottage which is all on one level you will enter through the sun room which is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast together and look out over the garden and open countryside. The kitchen next door offers electric oven and hob dishwasher fridge freezer microwave washing machine and tumble dryer. From the kitchen you will find the lounge with wood burner (first basket of logs included) and flat screen TV/DVD. There is also a Wii and games in the lounge area which is great for a rainy day or a family night in. There are three bedrooms 1 super king-size (zip-and-link bed that can be made into a twin on request) 1 double and 1 room with bunk beds which are suitable for all ages. Next to the double bedroom is the shower room with WC. There is an enclosed garden with seating area BBQ and dog run which guests are welcome to use. There is also ample parking.
