Hello, my name is serin and my partners name is Norbert.
We currently live and work in Normandy, a beautiful part of France, which is very popular for English people looking for somewhere that isn't too far from the uk.
Serin Hasip purchased this house in 2015
This property is in the charming village of grandcourt. With beautiful surrounding, the normandy countryside and the Eu forest just a few minuites away.
We love it here.
The superb situation of the house, being within easy distance form many exciting and interesting places.
The gite was clean and well equipped with comfortable furnishings. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of crockery, cutlery and serving dishes. A great bbq was located in a covered outside space which we made use of most nights.
English TV and WIFI was a bonus as we had our daughter with us!
The shop selling freshly baked bagettes and pastries was 1 minute walk away and the pain au raisin and bagettes were fantastic.
There are a couple of larger towns nearby, although I would recommend a slightly longer trip to Abeville and further afield, to Arras (if you go to Vimy Ridge phone ahead to see when the last English speaking tour is (they are Canadian) as we turned up at 3.10pm and the last one had started at 3pm. They wouldn't let us go around in the French tour even though we had our daughter with us who is studying a French degree at Uni!))
I would recommend this property if you are looking for a quiet location to soak up 'real' French life.

Well what a lovely surprise - it was even better than the description! Absolutely spotless and in such a pretty little village. We only stayed the weekend but managed to head into Forges Les Eaux which was a really lovely location with a lovely walk around lakes and woods! Norbert and Serin are such a fab couple they made us so welcome and gave us plenty of sight seeing tips!! We will be heading back there in a couple of months for a longer stay!!!
Normandy is a very popular holiday destination in all seasons as there is so much to do there for the entire family. Within a short radius there are fabulous beaches, rolling countryside, traditional villages, cosmopolitan cities, beautiful forests, pretty port towns, rivers, fabulous restaurants, theme parks, museums, stately homes, parks and sporting activities in a region steeped in beauty, history and culture.
Grandcourt is a typical pretty French country village with a church and an épicerie.
The village also has its own very authentic bar in the village square which also serves lunches. The locals are very friendly and it's impossible to pass someone in the street without them saying a friendly "bonjour". The village is right on the edge of the beautiful forest of Eu with its amazing cycle paths and walks and less than a 10 minute drive through the forest brings you to the picturesque market town of Blangy-sur-Bresle with its lively Sunday morning market and eclectic collection of shops as well as a large supermarket.
Just a 15 minute drive away is the sleepy coastal town of Criel-sur-Mer with its huge expanse of beach. If you're looking for a livelier seaside town, then Le Tréport and Mers-les-Bain are about a 20 minute drive away and well worth a visit for their fantastic restaurants, interesting architecture and antique shops.
The city of Eu, with its striking cathedral is well worth a visit and the cities of Dieppe and Abbeville are only a 30 minute drive away. It's also well worth making the 40 minute journey to the beautiful seaside town of St Valery-sur-somme with its huge array of pretty boats moored where the Somme meets the sea. The shops are lovely here, as is the seafood. For glorious sandy beaches, Le Crotoy is a little farther north. If you feel like venturing further afield, Paris is only 2 hours away with Disneyland and Parc Asterix being favourites for the children. Day trips can be made to the bird sanctuary at Marquenterre, Le Touquet with its infamous golfing, Monet's garden at Giverney and the battlefields of the Somme are on the doorstep as well as the amazing chateaux of Eu and Rambures.
