A stylish 2 bedroom self-catering cottage in Dinan port a stone's throw from the river with easy parking and linen and towels included.

This beautiful 2 bedroomed cottage has been furnished and decorated to a high standard. It is situated on the Lanvallay side of the river Rance a 1 minute walk over an ancient stone bridge to the lively restaurants in Dinan port.

The house has 3 floors, and comprises on the ground floor a well equipped kitchen diner and lounge with a dining table and seating that can accommodate 4 people. There are lovely views of the river Rance. The kitchen has a gas hob, extractor and fan oven, Dolce Gusto coffee machine, electric kettle, toaster, fridge/freeze and washing machine. The lounge area includes a sofa and a television, DVD player and satellite decoder.

A spiral staircase leads up to a comfortable first floor bedroom. It is furnished with a double bed, sofa and coffee table. This bedroom has a dual aspect and looks out over the river and has lovely views of the port.

Also on this level is the main bathroom which comprises a spacious shower cubicle, wc and washbasin.

The 2nd bedroom is further up via steep stairs. It is furnished with two single beds and has an ensuite bathroom with wc, washbasin and a small shower. It looks directly out over the port area and the river Rance. This is a historical property and some of the ceiling and the doorways have restricted height.

It is not suitable for people with limited mobility and we think it is best suited a couple or a family.

There is a small outside seating area accessed via a shared courtyard.

The Rue du Jerzual and Rue du Petit Fort leads up to the town of Dinan. Despite the steep ascent it is well worth the effort walking up to the town as the cobbled street is one of the most beautiful streets in Dinan, lined with medieval buildings, leading through one of the original city gates into the town.

We fell in love with Dinan the first time we visited it, the combination of a walled medieval town with a bustling port is unique certainly in this part of France. There is always something to do - even if it's just watching the world go by from a creperie on the banks of the river. There are heaps of places to go and things to see in Brittany but nothing beats a lazy afternoon by the river with a good bottle of red ! Rue du Four is the ideal location to explore from or to just hang-out at. Sitting on the terrace in the evening sun can't be beaten.

What makes this house unique

This little house overlooks the river Rance and the port of Dinan. It is a fabulous base for walking and cycling as there are tow paths in both directions along the river. There are several restaurants in the port, a 2 minute stroll accross the bridge, so you don't need to drive anywhere in the evening. A more challenging walk is up the famous Rue du Jersual into the medieval town itself.

Perfect location

Great 4 night stay . The house is perfect for a short break in this really beautiful town. Brilliant views from the windows along the river to the pretty port area . Patisserie and baker 50 metres away and numerous restaurants open year round just over the little medieval bridge . Although centrally located there is no noise and the central heating makes it very cosy in winter .

A cozy winter Base.

This was our second time staying here. Warm cozy and comfortable. I looked forward to pulling up the window shutters each morning to the stunning river view. Perfect location for long winter walks straight out of the front door along the river to Lehon. ( Swimming in the dark in the heated outdoor pool Piscine des Pommiers?) The property is perfectly located out of the main Dinan town which gives a chance to walk up the scenic main hill into the town. We were there over new year and several shops and restaurants were open ( need to book a restaurant table though.) La Licorne restaurant was fantastic. Everything you need for a great stay.

The property was exactly as portrayed, is in a lovely position relative to the port & although reasonably busy with traffic crossing the stone bridge we did not find this intrusive. The walk up the hill to centre ville is good exercise & we early 70 year olds were sometimes doing it twice per day. The hosts Cath & John were very welcoming & the Cottage presented well. Would we revisit? Of course!!

Perfectly positioned

Dinan is the most beautiful historic Town offering plenty of restaurants and shopping opportunities. On top of this there are very beautiful walks, bicycle rides and if you have the nerve kayaking.

This very stunning property offers the perfect position for all of these adventures. From the first floor bedroom enjoy a morning cup of coffee watching life bustle by and the water reflect the yachts, boats and the stunning backdrop of the hillsides.

The property offers everything you could ask for in order to walk in and start your holiday immediately. The private parking facilities (which is not offered by other properties on the same road) was a god send, as parking is a premium in this area.

We would certainly book this property again and again!

Comfortable and cosy

We had a lovely time staying here. The cottage has everything you need, down to a coffee machine and pods. The weather dipped to 1 degree but the central heating kept us toasty.

It's also well positioned with restaurants close by. We recommend it unreservedly. And Dinan itself is a good place to explore the region from, with the Emerald Coast a short drive away. Lots of good food and wine to choose from!
