About The Owner

We own and operate a successful furniture business in the town of Loose Creek, Mo. (suburb of Jefferson City) We enjoy our time at our slice of heaven after searching for over 16 years for the perfect place. Our home is everything we were looking for and a whole lot more so we decided to name it Paradise Bluff as it is located on top of a bluff!

The Owner purchased this house in 2007

Why The Owner chose Linn

Prior to purchasing our guest home, we searched for 16 years looking for a location that overlooked the Gasconade River and had auto access close to the waters edge. Five years prior to purchacing our home we rented a rustic log cabin up stream from our current location.

Our guest home is only 20 minuets away and with our work we don't know when we can be away until the night before. We always enjoyed boating, camping and fishing on the river so we started looking for the perfect hide-a-way along the river.

What makes this house unique

We are in the furniture business so we have good quality furniture and bedding throughout our home. Our philosophy is work hard, play hard and to acheive this, you need good furnishings to rest and relax well!

We love to cook outdoors so we have two propane gas grills, Weber charcoal grill, a large brick bbq pit, and a bbq trailer that will cook 5 hams at one time.

Our home is remote and quiet but close enough to civilization. We do have neighbors but their homes can not be seen from our home.

You can launch a boat one mile up stream at the Rollins Ferry conservation access or you can launch a canoe at our property and float for 8 miles down stream to the Pointers Creek conservation access.

When we are at our home we like to take the boat out and motor up streem and grill dinner. Our dinner usually consists of a steak with boiled shrimp along with other goodies. We then relax and enjoy a leisurley float down stream at dusk as the sun sets over the silver grey limestone bluffs along the way back to Paradise Bluff.

Totally Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful, very well equipped home for the Total Eclipse, Aug 19-21, 2017 and also to celebrate my Mom's 90th birthday. Three of her children and families were able to make this weekend and felt this home was a highlight for all of us. My mother grew up near Linn, Missouri. We also took scenic rural drives around the area to see highlights from my mothers past of living here. We enjoyed sitting on the front lawn together, taking walks to the highway and cooking in the spacious kitchen. The home is very clean, very peaceful and has everything you would need to enjoy time away from all the hustle and bustle of life. All of us would highly recommend this home. For my mother and myself we have stayed here before and it is a home you will want to come back to again!

Would love to book again!!

  • 5 of 5

This place is a treasure. The house is extremely nice and completely stocked with anything you could possibly ever need. My 4 year old was never bored with all the toys and coloring books provided. It's just a short walk or drive down to the river and dock. It comes equipped with canoes, lifejackets and everything as well. The beach across from the dock is wonderful. My family loved spending time there. The kids would swim while I fished (and caught plenty). I even got the bonus of finding a very old and authentic arrowhead!! Steve and Susie were great hosts and a pleasure to deal with. He provided many river updates and other helpful tips. While she even brought us another slow cooker just in case. The surrounding area is perfect as well. A short drive in to Linn for essentials or a good meal. While Jefferson City is a quick 30 minute jaunt with everything. We highly recommend the tours at the Missouri State Penitentiary. So overall an amazing house with great owners. Thanks for the opportunity and the memories.

Owner's Response: You and your family were great guest. The Indian artifact you found was a Dickson knife from the very early Woodland time period. We would love to have you and your family as guests again. Steve & Susie

Made in the shade on the Gasconade

  • 5 of 5

Steve and Susie, thanks for being incredible hosts for our weekend getaway with friends. Your Paradise Bluff home was the perfect setting to our 6th annual "fireside jamboree." We played music, camped out, went fishing, went for a float, grilled, made some campfires, and had a real nice time. Everything we needed was right at the house (canoes, hitch, chairs, coolers, life jackets, firewood, lighter, you name it) and it was the perfect size for our large group. You two were very accessible and helpful with anything else we needed. Will look forward to coming back!

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful, relaxing two week stay was enjoyed by our family at the river home. All the beds were very comfortable and updated. The great room was nicely furnished with comfortable, modern couch/recliners topped off with a new flat screen TV. The kitchen area is very large, updated with granite tops with plenty of eating area. The adjacent pantry room is huge and accommodates a very nice, new washer and dryer. The bathrooms have been upgraded including granite counters, all with shower and/or tub with shower. A beautiful wood deck runs off the great room and master bedroom upstairs. Downstairs there are two queen beds, a bathroom and enough area to hold a party. The available folding tables and chairs make this area very conducive to having a nice get together, very nicely done. As a result, our family reunion with 30 plus people was a great success.

What we really enjoyed was the peace and quiet of the river home. We slept like babies. It is located about 1 mile off State Hwy. 89, away from any traffic noise.

While sitting on the outside deck we saw cottontails, blue birds, woodpeckers, and our favorite, the Red Bird (Cardinal). The lightning bugs fluttering between the trees were a special treat at night while on the deck. In the front yard area we saw several deer as well. One evening we saw an owl in flight. A short walk down the hill is a nicely done entry into the Gasconade River, a nice place for a cool dip on a hot day. There are inner tubes, life jackets, camp chairs, BBQ's, coolers, canoes, and much more available. The river home is a great place for a family vacation, family reunion, a friendly get together with friends, or a place to chill out and relax. The river home made us feel like we had a home away from home. Very comfortable.

Steve and Susie went out of their way to make sure we had a great vacation and family reunion. Thank you Steve and Susie. You are great.

Beautiful Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Such a lovely place to get the family together and visit. Clean house with well groomed lawn and a really nice dock. Steve gave us a walk thru when we arrived and then we were on our on to fish, boat, grill, and visit. We sat on the dock by the river in the shade and had a great time. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Paradise Bluff River Home on the Spring-Fed Gasconade River

  • 5 of 5

Our family group of five greatly enjoyed our stay in "Paradise"! We were impressed with the scenery, the beautiful home, the solitude, and all of the more than generous amenities provided by the hosts, Susie and Steve. They went above and beyond what anyone could ever expect to make our stay a wonderfully memorable one. The home was immaculately clean and comfortable and proved to be the most thoroughly provisioned rental that we have ever experienced - ah, the incredible pantry. The spacious deck answered all of our grilling and lounging desires. The trips to the towns in the area were impressive in that we learned about the history of the area, saw beautiful countryside, ate at wonderful restaurants, visited and toured a good number of the most impressive wineries that we have ever visited.
