Close to the Famous Fort Lauderdale Beach and one of the best shopping malls in Fort Lauderdale, Casa del Sol is located in the upscale 'Coral Ridge' area of Bayveiw Drive. Our two first floor water front balcony apartments are located in a 7 unit tropical poolside setting backing onto Lake Seminole, a natural finger canal just yards from the Intracoastal Waterway. A car is not essential as there is easy access to public transport including water taxi's, there are also bicycles available for guest use. The swimming pool is heated and overlooks the beautiful waterway and million dollar yachts.

Our location is a 15 minute drive from Fort Lauderdale International Airport and is close to all of Fort Lauderdales major amenities including beach, shopping, dining fishing, golf and water sports.

Casa Del Sol is a small, intimate resort located in the heart of the Fort Lauderdale waterfront district. It is within walking distance to shopping, theatres, restaurants, and, of course, the famous Fort Lauderdale Beach. Our vacation rental apartments in this charming waterfront resort offers vacationers a chance to experience the Sun and Fun of a tropical island with the convenience of a modern city in an intimate setting full of ambiance.

Fort Lauderdale is the cultural center of South Florida with live theatre, jazz clubs, the elegant River Walk, and perhaps one of the finest beaches in the world. Restaurants abound. Nearly every cuisine is represented including Thai, Indian, Italian, French, German, Mexican, etc. Fresh seafood is of course featured in all cuisine.

There is even a Saturday water bus to Miami's South Beach by beautiful 30 mile inter-coastal ride and brings you back in the evening.. Guests at Casa Del Sol frequently gather poolside between five and six for sundowner cocktails. Often this event turns into either a group evening out or a covered dish cook out. We love families and well-behaved youngsters, and are pet friendly with some restrictions.

I will sadly be leaving tomorrow to return home to the cold weather. I agree with what others have said about the condo unit. The biggest downside this week has been the construction noise during the daylight hours from a new condo complex that is being built across the street. For those planning a stay here, I suspect the construction will be lasting a while, so if you are a late sleeper, bring the ear plugs. Condo is well stocked with supplies, staff (Nick) are always available and willing to help with any problems/questions.

Good location near everything but relatively quiet @ the boats and pool.

We were originally only going to stay for a month after our cruise,But Lady Luck threw in her card ,when my wife became ill, and we extended our trip to 2 months.We could not have chosen better with no5 apartment,boasting the best view of the intercostal. Organising hospital appointments,and taxi pick ups was made all the easier,with use of free telephone calls,even international to the UK to keep family informed.The weekly maid service,swimming pool heated,sun loungers,canopy with tables and chairs,free use of BBQ.made all for a pleasant stay.Nick the on site maintenance man, keeps this place in tip top condition,Ed and his wife Ona making up the family run concern,are very personable ,and full of help and suggestions. Free use of pedal bikes were a great help,when popping out to the shops.I would not hesitate in recommending this 6 apartment well run complex,as Arnie says we will be back.

We stayed in apartment 6 and we loved it.

We traveled with our 1,5 year old daughter and it was a great place to stay. Close to the galleria and not far from the beach.

Our apartment had a fully equipped kitchen as well as a laundry machine and a tumble dryer. Perfect when travelling with kids.

The furniture/equipment maybe wasn´t the latest, but everything was nice and clean.

We will definitely come back!

Great and easy place! Totally enjoyed our stay.

I decided to write this review to help others as I have never booked accommodation using this method and wanted to try the experience. I usually book into hotels or stay with family.

I had looked at different properties in the location I needed to stay. Casa Del Sol appealed to me as the price was very reasonable for the 3 week period and area I wanted. I contacted the owner via this site, a month before I was due to travel. I called the number and spoke to Alyson Warren. Alyson was great. We agreed the rate and price and she answered any questions I had about the area. This reassured me as I did have concerns about using the site initially. Alyson then copied me into the email she sent to the booking agent so that we could arrange payment as agreed.

The ladies at the booking agent were great and helpful too and contacted me within 24 hours. Any questions I had they tried to answer but advised the best person to speak to would be the site manager, Nick on arrival.

Casa Del Sol is lovely. My partner and I stayed in Apt 5. We had transport, it was easy to find once you have a GPS/SatNav or are with someone who knows their way around. Everything was perfect, ready and waiting for arrival.

The unit was exactly as the photos show. There are 7 units in total, all one bedroom. The details given about the properties are a true account. I also paid extra for international calls and cleaning once a week as the prices were reasonable. They can accommodate 2 extra people on sofa bed.

If I had to be 'super critical', the only 2 things would be that they should boost/upgrade their internet/WiFi services to be able to take the volume of usage, when all units are occupied at the same time. Also, the Apt./resort, would benefit from 2-3 cosmetic/paint touch ups. Just so that evidence of previous water leaks/repairs, now resolved, do not give the wrong impression.

Nick is down to earth, polite and helpful. He is contactable by mobile and is usually on site for a time each day. We had disrupted access to the WiFi connection. Told Nick, who did try and eventually manage to get this sorted out. Other minor issues, were sorted immediately.

The area is beautiful! It is easier with a car but if you like to walk, the Galleria Mall and Publix is literally a 10 minute walk away and the beach is close by too. There are always taxis around near the Mall or call one.

We would return again, no doubt. We loved the relaxed nature and freedom to do as you want.

Our recent holiday

My husband and recently stayed in Apartment 6a for 9 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The living/kitchen area is compact but ideal for a couple. The bedroom has a large amount of storage space and keeps nicely cool with the air con and ceiling fan. Being situated in a residential area we didn't have any problems with noise. We enjoyed using the pool which has a lovely view of the intercostal and there was often a welcome cooling breeze.

The property is situated close to the Galleria Mall which has a very good food court where all the food is freshly cooked for you. The water taxi stop is behind the Galleria and is a good way to explore. We visited Sawgrass Mills twice and were very impressed with the choice there.

The owners of the property were very friendly and organised a 4th July party as well as taking us to watch the fireworks. We would certainly recommend a stay at this friendly place.

No Car required..

Absolutely loved it here. Best winter resort we have ever been to. We were there for a month and the temps were steady 80s everyday. Lots of local transport, even a free trolley 2 minutes away, that runs you to the Mall, you can have a browse around all the bargains, then shop for your groceries and take them back via the free trolley that drops you back home again. I could go on and on it was superb. The owners on site couldn't do enough for you and really went that extra mile. We will most definitely be going back. Thank you Ted, Una, Alyson, for making our holiday so special xxx
