Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

Where do i start, first of all the welcome was amazing, soon as we got out the car john was there to greet us putting us at ease straight away showed us around, made you feel at home straight away. The place is beautiful done to a very high standard and was spotless so cosy and modern. Everything you could possible need is there we where amazed at all the little details, like a little welcome book with information, a drawer full of places to go, takeaway menus. Things to do like books, cards if you get bored. They have literally thought of everything! I work in a hotel and the standard here and what is offered is above and beyond and even cheaper than most hotels where you get less! On a night you could here a pin drop thats how peaceful it is, its got a shop and a pub less than 5 minutes away and your in the centre of everything, never nothing to go do or see. The owners should be proud because its just wonderful and wish them every sucess in the future never met such a nice couple nothing was too much trouble. The hot tub was wonderful, i am just so glad we found this little gem, because we will be going back! Thank you both!

Good but misleading

  • 3 of 5

The hosts were lovely and the cabin was modern and homely. The only thing was it was placed in their back garden and to use the hot tub we had to enter their house and had time limits. The photos were misleading as they made the cabin look private but it was not and when we were sat outside enjoying the fire pit we could see into their house. Because of the location we felt very awkward so spent most our time in a local pub just to get out. Fine for some people but I think for the price they should let their guests know it is located in their back garden and the hot tub is not situated next to the cabin.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review, my comments on this would be that if you read the description it states the cabin is located within our grounds and is actually elevated from our property. We feel we offer a peaceful location to get away from it all and relax at a fair price. We have often been told it is very good value for the money. Again in the description it states that you have use of 'owners' hot tub and although there are time restrictions this is purely due to the filtering process of the spa, if you booked into a five star hotel with spa facilities these would also have time restrictions so feel this is an unfair comment. The hot tub is also housed in a its own conservatory with blinds at all windows and at no point do you enter into my house. The access door is a few metres from the cabin which has never been an issue with past guests. The hot tub is also not sold as part of the package, we allow guests to use 'our' hot tub with no extra charge, you don't have to use it if you don't feel comfortable, but it is completely private and there should you wish to use it. We have had very good reviews and no other issues so I do wonder if we have offended you by refusing to allow you to bring your dog? again this is clearly stated in the advert that we do not allow animals.

Fantastic break

Fantastic break in a peace full log cabin. It's so clean and so much like home from home. Owners need to be proud of what they have to offer.

The perfect haven for relaxation

  • 5 of 5

I cannot praise this property or the owners Jules and John. The property is so tastefully and expensively furnished, it is so homely and comfortable. It has absolutely everything needed to make staying there complete.

My wife and I booked it for the specific purpose of getting away to somewhere secluded in order to escape from our everyday life. We booked a 2 night stay with the intention of totally relaxing and chilling. It lived up to and surpassed our expectations.

We arrived to a very warm and friendly welcome from Jules, then apart from popping out to the local chip shop ( a ten minute walk or less than 3 minute drive away) we relaxed and enjoyed the peace and comfort of this outstanding property. By the way the chip shop serves delicious Fish and Chips.

The only tip I will offer is that mobile coverage isn't great other than Vodaphone, so if not on Vodaphone buy a cheap pay as you go sim card for the duration of your stay.

Miss this delightful gem at your peril.

A quiet hidaway in a beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

The owners were very welcoming and extremely helpful. The accommodation was very well organised and it is difficult to think how it could be improved upon. It was furnished to a very high standard and was really very comfortable. The outdoor facilities were very good and we would have used them more had there been less rain! Everyone we met, without exception, in the area of Weardale and Teesdale was very friendly and warm. We felt it was an ideal base for exploring the North Pennines. Durham and the wonderful Beamish Museum are also within easy reach for days out. We would recommend the area for a holiday any time of year. We can't wait to go back!!!

Lovely comfortable cottage exactly as advertised. Owners helpful, friendly but not intrusive. We hope to stay again next year and would recommend to a friend or relative. Good location on edge of Frosterly village.
