Built in 1804 by Napoleon’s family and originally a Church, this gorgeous, semi-detached, three-storey, waterfront house is steeped in history. From the road, three sets of steps lead up to this charming house owned by an interior designer and decorated with great style.

This four-bedroom period property has everything required to provide a comfortable and elegant stay to groups of up to 10 people. Whether as an extended family or a large group of friends, you and your housemates are sure to enjoy a relaxing and fun-filled stay in Falmouth when you book this property.

The house was originally built in 1804, and has been redecorated to bring a touch of modernism, whilst staying very much in keeping with a traditional style. On the ground floor you’ll find an impressive kitchen dining area complete with double Belfast sink, a double oven and six ring gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, and washing machine. The large bay window gives you 180° views of the river and harbour; a perfect accompaniment to a relaxing group meal.

On the first floor you’ll find a spacious lounge with high ceilings, sofas, and a window seat area complete with table. Once again a large bay window provides you with unbeatable views of the water. Also on the first floor are three bedrooms: one double, an additional double with an extra day bed, and one room featuring twin singles. Each of the rooms is decorated to an extremely high standard and furnished with items that perfectly complement the property’s period legacy.

The family bathroom on the first floor provides plenty of space, and features a freestanding claw foot bath, a large separate shower cubicle, and a toilet.

At the top of the house on the second floor you will find the final bedroom, complete with double bed and an additional daybed. This room benefits from an en-suite shower room and toilet.

Crown House is perfectly located to allow you easy access to Falmouth on foot, regular ferries to St Mawes and Flushing, water taxis to beautifully located pubs, scenic coastal paths, and wonderful subtropical gardens. A regular train service links you to Truro and the rest of Cornwall, making it easy for you to explore much further afield.

Falmouth boasts some of the best beaches in Cornwall including Gyllingvase with its trendy café, Swanpool with its adjoining nature lake and Castle Beach overlooked by Pendennis Castle, lit at night and providing a great backdrop. The busy town and port is the home to the National Maritime Museum, located in Events Square and hosts numerous high-profile events throughout the year. Dine at Rick Stein’s fish restaurant, or dine al fresco at one of many water-front restaurants and bars. Art galleries, shops, cinema, tenpin bowling are all close by. The convenience of Crown House, is that once parked on the roadside by the property, guests can stroll in to town and enjoy a night out without the worry of driving. There are numerous small ferry services to Flushing and St Mawes or take a water taxi to one of the picturesque waterfront pubs. The area is popular for sailing, canoeing, surfing, fishing, golf, scuba diving or walking along one of the many scenic coastal paths. Enjoy exploring sub-tropical gardens including Trebah, Glendurgan or Trelissick. Take the train from Falmouth to the cathedral city of Truro, where you will find great shopping, a variety of quality restaurants and bars, theatre and museum. The area is close to the famous Helford river/passage and creeks and regular boat trips run from Falmouth. Visit the inn located on the pretty beach alongside the Helford, or take the sea safari to watch dolphins, basking sharks, seals and wildlife. After a busy day on the beach or exploring one of the world-class attractions, return to Crown House and relax with a drink on the patio taking in the view and watching the marine activity. Beach ¼ mile. Shop and restaurant ¼ mile, pub 500 yards.
