About the property

Restructured antique stone house in the old town, with 360-degree rooftop view

A small house on three levels, 70 square meters (about 630 square feet) plus two terrace levels with a 360 degree view of the town and the Ionian sea. Located on a quiet street with no through traffic, and ample parking on the nearby church square. Parking is free. The house was totally redone in 2014, and yet there are plenty of traces of its long history, including an exposed original wall from the 1600's and floor from the early 1800's. Downstairs there is a bathroom with washing machine and shower, a fully-equipped kitchen, a living area with double sofa bed and digital television. Kitchen includes oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and tea kettle, as well as All necessary kitchen utensils. The small storage room contains shelves for storing luggage, an iron and ironing board, and an extra twin bed if needed. There is a mini split air conditioner for cooling or heating, but with walls That Are many feet thick, the temperature is almost constant year round. Upstairs the loft space area comprises a large bedroom with queen bed, wardrobe, desk and dresser, and space for an extra twin bed, on request. The bedroom overlooks the downstairs area, but has black-out shades, as well as a folding screen Which blocks light from the small balcony.

Upstairs from the bedroom there is a small terrace Which has a private view of the church dome, Which is exceptional When illuminated in the evening. The perfect place for a good glass of Aglianico! (Yes, the church has a bell tower Which rings during the day, but again, with Which walls are two feet thick it Should not be a problem.) Up again to the larger terrace area, where there is a 10 by 10 foot gazebo, barbeque, hose hook-up, and splendid views in every direction. Laundry dries incredibly fast up here. High speed internet is always available via wifi.

To make our guests feel welcome, we will be available to answer questions or help with ideas for day trips. We are happy to Shops provide explanations of the local points of interest, including museums, restaurants, and archeological sites.

Perfetta in tutto

  • 5 of 5

Tutto perfetto, molto pulito, tutto funzionante, asciugamani, lenzuola, detersivi, stoviglie, spezie.

Grazie a Francesco persona speciale.

Che dire i miei 2 ragazzi 10/12 anni vogliono tornare a Settembre:)

Noi appena possibile !

Un accueil chaleureux et une maison agréable.

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Pulita e spaziosa,in 4 siamo stati molto comodi. Consigliatissima!!!

Car: recommended

This area has many charms of Basilicata, one of the main ones being That tourists are less ubiquitous and the experience of discovering towns, restaurants and ancient ruins Seems quite personal. Magna Grecia was a bustling area Which supplied wheat and timber to Greece during its reign as leader of the world around 700 BC. The sheer quantity of archeological artifacts can be overwhelming, and the museums of the area display only a small part of what they possess. More recently Matera, 22 miles away, Has Been Chosen as a World Heritage Site and offers an amazing stone city, with its beehive of cave dwellings and hidden frescoed Byzantine churches carved out of solid stone. Tours of the city are recommended, and there are many small cafes as well as top-class restaurants.

People who are looking for a change from the usual overcrowded museums and sights will adore exploring Basilicata. Bring your walking shoes and make sure to rent a car as well.

Fees No additional mandatory fees

We hope that our guests are aware that HomeAway has instituted "service fees" on rentals. We, the owners, had no knowledge that this would take place in June 2016. We were not consulted in any way. We advise our guests to contact us with a request instead of using the "Pay Online" feature of the website. It will save them a lot of money. As owners we are very unhappy with this "improvement." Last season all of our guests paid through bank transfer upon confirmation of their reservation. All were happy and satisfied with the arrangement, as were we.
A welcome basket filled with local food items will be available, on request, for our guests to find upon their arrival. Please let us know if you will be requesting this item. Cost is an additional (one-time) 19 Euros.

100% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
