The main Villa level comprises an entrance hall, leading onto a large living/dining room with panoramic views over the Valinco and sliding doors to the large main terrace. Large sofa's provide plenty of comfortable seating complemented by a large screen TV, cinema system and games console. A separate kitchen is well equipped with full oven and dishwasher, and a breakfast area which also has access to the terrace. Four bedrooms on this floor are arranged in two wings, each comprising a double room and a twin room, shower room and toilet. The main double bedroom benefits from French doors giving access to the main terrace.
The downstairs Studio is reached via steps from the terrace providing an additional sense of privacy for grandparents or older children. Accommodation comprises two further bedrooms, one of which boasts sea views and sliding doors giving access onto the lower terrace. One room has a double bed and the other has been arranged as an extra living area with sofabed so that it can be used either as a small apartment (no kitchen) or as two bedrooms. There is additional cupboard space on this level, a separate toilet and a large bathroom with corner bath. Note: The Studio is only available if by prior arrangement so please ensure that you request this at the time of booking.
The main terrace itself is a good size and has a dining table and a comfortable seating area making it the perfect for eating out and watching the sunset over the sea. There is a built-in barbecue for those balmy summer evenings and a spiral stair up to a further area of terrace where there is a private pool (approx. 8m x 4m) - ideal for relaxing and soaking up the sun. An additional communal pool (approx. 8m x 15m) which serves the “Balcons du Valinco” community is a 2 minute walk down the hill.
Consider a short trip inland to visit Filitosa, a megalithic site dating from the Bronze Age; to Sartene, 'The most Corsican of Corsican towns' or to Olmeto, dramatically clinging to the hillside. An hour's drive brings you to the Alta Rocca – a range of hills and mountains clad in chestnut trees and pines and dotted with hilltop villages; and to the awe-inspiring Col and Aiguilles de Bavella. A little further afield, a 90 minute drive will bring you to sophisticated Porto Vecchio on the west coast and to spectacular Bonifacio on the southernmost tip of the island.
If you are inspired to do more than relax on the beach then local activities include Diving, Sailing, Windsurfing, Jet-skiing, Water skiing, Dinghy hire, RIB hire, Kayaking, Rock-climbing, Mountain biking, Hiking and Trekking.
