This beautiful apartment (" Le Pied-à-Terre") has just been completely renovated (April 2015), combining period features with all modern conveniences. The high ceilings with the old, exposed wooden beams, the wooden floors and the black and white marble in the bathrooms make it truly magical, giving you a true Parisian feeling.
It is located between two courtyards, on the second floor of an 17th century house in the heart of the Marais, making it very quiet and even allowing you to sleep with open windows.
The apartment's layout and its size (75 square meter/800 square foot) will provide you with ample space to relax and to enjoy your own privacy. Ideally suited for two couples or a family with children, the two bedrooms sleep 4 guests comfortably. One bedroom has a four poster, king size bed, whilst the other has 2 single beds with unique bed-stands (all mattresses are new) . The finest Egyptian cotton linen has been chosen for your comfort and pleasure. Both have their own bathrooms (one en-suite), equipped with 1940's style fittings, black and white Carrara marble floors and Parisian Metro tiles. There is also a separate toilet. High quality face, hand and bath towels are provided. Each bedroom has got a powerful avant-garde silent Dyson (AM08) air cooler.
The sitting room is very large and has a mock fire place with many candles, antiques, modern art, leather chairs and a designer sofa, dim-able lights - a perfect place to relax before or after exploring Paris. The chef's kitchen has been designed and equipped to enable you to cook a wonderful meal. It has a lovely, large white Carrara marble work area and faces the dining area which has a stunning 19th century wooden table which can sit up to six guests. A large Freud retro style fan is at your disposal.

This property is located in the heart of the Marais, the most vibrant arrondissement of Paris, in walking distance from many attractions like the Centre Pompidou, the Picasso Museum, Place de Voges and even Notre Dame. The neighbourhood boosts many nice restaurants/brasseries, organic stores, patisseries and the flat is only 5-10 minutes walk away from the famous covered food market "Les Enfants Rouges" were you can buy organic fruit and vegetables, lovely fish and great French cheese.
The closest Metro station is Arts-et-Metiers 5 minutes away from Pied-a-Terre and buses and Velibs (bicycles that can be rented daily or weekly and are a great way to explore Paris) are close by. However, given Le Pied-à-Terre's central location you will most likely explore Paris on foot. The airports and the main train stations can easily be reached by public transport or by taxi and you will receive all information you need when you book the apartment. A manager will welcome you, show you around the property, give you the keys and provide you with valuable tips. He is of course available in case of emergency or for any questions you may have.
For guests who would like to come with a car, the nearest parking is located less than 150 meters from the flat and is called: "Parking Temple Alizés". Should you wish to book in advance, you get discounts using this website - http://www.parkingsdeparis.com/

As a child, I lived in Versailles and Paris was the city of my dreams. When I finally moved to Paris I loved exploring and savouring this wonderful and vibrant city. I always wanted to own a traditional Parisian apartment in the city centre.
My dream came true in 2004 when I purchased this property whilst living in London. I enjoyed visiting Paris regularly and staying in my apartment.
I decided to renovate the property totally and to give other people the chance to share my passion for this incredible city. Having said that, I love the apartment so much that I often visit and stay in it myself.
Ivan purchased this apartment in 2004
The combination of 17th century Parisian charm, antique furniture, exposed beams, all modern comforts, the location, right in the heart of the Marais ,and the fact that it is incredibly quiet make the apartment unique.
The kitchen has been designed an fitted to satisfy any hobby cook and the proximity to food markets and typically French food stores make it very easy to prepare lovely meals.
Being in walking distant from so many major tourist sites and being surrounded by wonderful places where one can eat and drink without having to use public transport makes it a perfect base for a short visit or a long stay.
The manager, who lives in the same building, will take good care of you ensuring that you receive the best customer service and, as a local, he can give you wonderful recommendations.
Totally refurbished; incredibly quiet - sleep with your windows open in the summer! Central location
Ivan's apartment is in a great location, close to great food and shopping destinations. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The apartment itself is in great condition, clean and comfortable. Ivan's assistant was available immediately when we needed extra comforters. We would very happily stay here again!
We recently stayed in Paris at Pied A Terre for 8 nights. We were very happy with the apartment. It was nicely furnished, clean, spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and all the appliances worked perfectly. There was always lots of hot water for showers and having 2 full bathrooms was a real bonus. The location was excellent, very close to the metro and lots of shopping and restaurants. If eating in be sure to visit the wonderful tiny butcher shop a few door down for delicious prepared take out foods. The building is very quiet and we always felt very safe. We were a bit concerned about walking up 2 flights of stairs at the end of a long day but it really wasn't a problem at all.
The photos in the website are accurate. The building is very quiet, yet in a very convenient location.
We are two male couples and there was plenty of room for the four of us
in the apartment.
The owner, Ivan, and the manager, Thierry, were helpful with sharing tourist information, giving local insight about the immediate neighborhood, and being there when needed.
Other friends were on vacation with us. When they visited this Marais apartment, their comments were about being jealous, because this apartment was outstanding compared to their Marais rental unit.
We have our own rental townhouse in Key West, Florida, USA. So, we know how much work and effort Ivan has put into his apartment to make it so pleasant for his guests.
I stayed here with my two adult daughters during a five day visit to Paris. The apartment worked perfectly for us. Two bedrooms and separate bathrooms made it all very convenient and the living space was quite comfortable for three adults. Ivan was very helpful when I first contacted him and gave me all the information I needed, including getting to and from the airport. Upon arrival, we met Thierry, the manager, who was equally helpful. We were greeted with fresh flowers and a lovely basket of wine and other treats. The space is clearly designed for guests, with lots of thoughtful touches, including a well-stocked kitchen and beautifully updated bathrooms. Great location, too. Very quiet. I can recommend without reservation, although travelers need to be aware that the unit is located on the third floor and requires walking up a narrow winding stairway, which may not work for everyone. But if that is not an issue and you are looking for charm and convenience, this is the place!
We really enjoyed our stay at Ivan and Stephan's flat in Paris. It was ideally located near many of the popular tourist sites, shops, and restaurants in and around the Marais.
The apartment was well equipped and had very comfortable bedrooms, living room, and dining areas. Moreover, it was a tranquil oasis in the midst of the bustling city. We had absolutely no problems with noise as the apartment faces an inner courtyard--away from the street.
We will definitely be back on our next trip to Paris!
I am giving a five-star rating for both the owner-host and the property.
I received a welcome email from Ivan right after my booking was confirmed. For the next few weeks before our trip, he periodically sent email updates and offers to answer any questions I might have. He was warm, meticulous, and helpful. One email came while Ivan was visiting NYC, which is indicative of the level of care he affords his guests.
On check-in day we were greeted by the friendly property manager. A welcome basket on the kitchen counter thoughtfully offered snacks, coffee pods, and even a bottle of wine. The flat was evidently newly-renovated and it was cozy and beautiful. Our family of four (incl two young-adult children) had plenty of room to spread out. And the shower, unlike the problems some older buildings might have, never ran out of steaming hot water. There are restaurants (good ones, too) on the same block and supermarkets just a short walking distance. My husband and I took a stroll on the night we arrived to get groceries and appreciated that we were in a convenient and nice neighborhood.
Ivan persisted in his thoughtful communications throughout, which was comforting when one visits a new city in a foreign country. In all, this has been a wonderful experience, thanks to the gracious host and a comfortable place to stay. I'd highly recommend this property to anyone.
This property is located 5-10 minutes on foot from various museums like the Picasso museum and the Pompidou centre. It is in the heart of the Marais, which has many exiting boutiques, galleries, restaurants and bars. The Seine, Notre Dame and even the Louvre are in walking distance.
The famous covert food market "Enfants Rouges" is around 5 walk minutes away.
There are 3 "Velib" stations (bikes for rent) in easy walking distance
