Three Bedroom Fisherman's House -Sleeps 2/4/6 - Semi-Tropical Garden & Jacuzzi

One of the wonderful relics of Deià's rich and colourful past. A fisherman's cottage built in 1802 offers you the joys of this wonderful village, set in a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The house has a stylish main sitting room which opens directly on to the garden. A traditional Mallorcan kitchen with gas/electric cooking range, dishwasher , washing machine, large SMEG fridge/freezer.

A second sitting room offers the perfect place to read or children to play with direct access onto a small rear terrace with heated jacuzzi, and outside shower.

Master bedroom with double bed, ample wardrobe space, combined with luxury en-suite shower room and view overlooking rear courtyard.

Two further bedrooms with double beds, second bathroom.

To the front of the house is a charming totally private courtyard garden - a semi-tropical haven with palms, ferns, citrus fruit trees and an ancient vine draped over a pergola which offers dappled shade on hot summer days.

About Adrian Snell

We are a British couple currently living in South-Western France. We first discovered Deia in 2004, a simple day-trip from Palma to this beautiful mountain-side village and after a short stroll around taking in the spectacular sights followed by a refreshing drink on a cafe terrace, and we were hooked. Why? Perhaps it was the breath-taking views of the village from the church, with the mountain behind, or the rocky olive terraces which meander down to the cove and the crystal-clear Mediterranean sea. Perhaps the scent of jasmine and citrus fruits, or the allure of the many cafes and restaurants which you wouldn't be able to exhaust with a week of lunches and dinners!

With the resort of Soller a short drive to the north, its horse-shoe shaped bay of golden sand, and the neighbouring village of Valldemossa to the south on the road, towards Palma - Deia's magnetism was irresistible.

Eventually in 2014 we realised our dream of owning a house in this friendly village, we only wish we could escape here more often!

We've spent the past year renovating, refurbishing and redecorating the house and have furnished it to a high standard which we hope is evident in the photos.

So much more than just a rental property - this is our home, and we hope you will appreciate the care we have taken to offer you the very best holiday experience.

The house is just two/three hundred metres from the centre of the village which makes it ideal for those looking to experience this beautiful village without having to use a car. After dining in one of the fine restaurants, its a very short walk back home just far enough not to be bothered by the lively music/chatter etc.

The house itself is ideal for two/three couples as it offers two salons, awell-equipped kitchen, and three bedrooms each of which has a double bed and air-conditioning - perfect for sleeping on hot summer nights.

Two bathrooms (one en-suite) with powerful showers, WCs and washbasins.

A semi-tropical garden, perfect for alfresco dining, planted with palms, orange & lemon trees, jasmine, clematis, ferns and an ancient vine. A small courtyard garden to the rear offers 100% privacy and steps up to the 6 person jacuzzi, with views towards Teix Mountain.

Parking your rental car within a few metres is generally easy, (on-street with resident permit).

British TV if you need to check-in with world events and wireless high-speed internet access.

This house is new to the rental market - our first advert launched on Homeaway on 2 April 2015 - hence why we have almost full availability this year.

We know if you're looking to rent a house in this wonderful village that you're not looking for the typical 'bucket & spade' Mallorcan experience, and we believe that should you chose Deia that you too will fall in love with this magical place which we regard as the jewel in the crown of this idyllic island.

What makes this house unique

Deia is simply unique. Anyone visiting Mallorca for the first time will soon realise why this part of the western coastline is protected from development and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The road from Palma, soon leaves the city and the resorts of the south far behind, and as the road reaches Valldemossa, you got a taste of the dramatic and spectacular landscape which only gets better as the road winds its way around the coast through the ancient olive groves which offer stunning views out over the Mediterranean.

Deia has a bohemian vibe that stems from attracting artists, musicians and writers from all over the world to settle here, the feeling is relaxed, friendly, inspirational and a little eccentric!

The village nestles under the stunning Tramuntana mountains that give way to the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean.

The architecture consists of traditional 'fincas' built of stone creating a breathtaking sight against the bright blue sky - or at sunset the red hue that floods the mountains with an explosion of reds, pinks and oranges.

The Sierra de Tramuntana mountains are covered by an extensive network of trails making it the ideal holiday location for hikers outside the summer months.

The village has a few boutiques, and two mini-supermarkets and around 20 cafes & restaurants, as well as 3 bars for those wanting to prolong their night out!!

The local cove (Cala Deia) is a 30 minute walk straight from the house, (or you can drive) and for those looking for a larger sandy bay then Playa d'en Repic in Soller can be reached by taking the scenic coastal drive to the north - 15mins.

If you are attracted by the bright lights, then the capital, Palma is just 25 minutes by car (there is a regular bus service too), offering you the very best in shopping and the stylish & glitzy resorts of Portals Nous and Port d'Andratx are just 30/40 mins away.

Beautiful oasis of calm in the Majorcan mountains

Hidden away right in the centre of the wonderful mountain village of Deia sits a beautiful oasis of calm and cool. Beautifully decorated and luxuriously equipped this three-double bedroom Mallorcan house makes a perfect hideaway from the heat and bustle of Majorca in the height of the summer season. Whether we were barbequing in the shady courtyard or splashing in the sunny jacuzzi we all loved this house. Deia is a very lovely village nestled in the northern mountains of the island with great bars, restaurants and shops and within walking distance of a rocky cove for swimming. If you’d like somewhere very special to stay on the island of Majorca I thoroughly recommend this property. Helen Meyer
